Thank you for everything you have done, and
continue to do, for your law school. Your
contributions last year helped to create and
sustain vital programs and opportunities at
UC Hastings College of the Law. We are
grateful for your support, and honored to

Over the past year, your generosity made a
significant difference in our advancement as

help students and their families manage the

required for a legal education. We were also

I feel very strongly that Hastings, more
than other schools, seems to turn out
lawyers who are more practical and who
love to practice law. I’m one of the few
guys you’ll meet who’s eighty years old
and still practices. I like to say that I live
to practice rather than practice to live.
That’s what Hastings did for me, and it’s
why I’m giving back. I hope others do as
well. Even the person who gives a small
amount of money is important. It’s an
investment in the future, in the ethical
practice of law.

I feel privileged to have attended UC
Hastings through the LEOP program, and I
support my school so other people can
have that same chance. Law school is kind
of a different world, and it was the most
challenging academic experience in my
entire life. The support from all the
teachers and the administration in general
gave me what I needed to achieve, both in
class and with the work that I did at the
Workers’ Rights Clinic. It’s helped me to
have thicker skin and be prepared and
stand up for what I believe in, even if
people push me to go the other way.

For recent graduates like myself, giving
When I enrolled in ’73, Hastings was the

law firm challenge
The Law Firm Challenge encourages alumni at law firms and
organizations with five or more UC Hastings graduates to reconnect
with their alma mater and promote giving in a fun and challenging
way. Within each law firm, volunteer representatives take the lead in
inspiring their UC Hastings colleagues to join together and meet the
100% giving challenge.
By participating in the Challenge, graduates help UC Hastings
raise essential funds, increase overall alumni giving participation,
strengthen the UC Hastings alumni network and enhance the profile
of the graduate’s own law firm and organization.
