Troubleshooting
If the VPN connection is not working after a correct installation you can check the following things:
•
•
•
Check the Internet Security software.
Check your Router.
Check the firewall.
Check the Internet Security software
Internet Security software (Norton, McAfee, AVAST, etc.) is blocking your VPN. Enable (allow) your
VPN connection in this software.
• Try to find the configuration page.
• Try to add or accept the UvT VPN to the allowable list of software.
• For detailed information on how to unblock the VPN, check the manual of your software.
LIS does NOT give support with this problem. If one of these programs is blocking the VPN connection
(you can check this by disabling each one of those), you will have to fix this yourself. Because there
are too many different kind of Internet Security software programs, we have no knowledge of how to
do this with each programs.
Check your Router
Your router is blocking the VPN connection.
• Open the router port 500.
• For detailed information on how to open the port, check the manual of your router.
LIS does NOT give support with this problem. If your router is blocking the VPN connection, you will
have to fix this yourself. Because there are too many different routers, we have no knowledge of how
to do this on each router. If you don't know how to open the router port 500, you have to contact your
own internet provider or the person who installed the router at your home.
