THE BOOZE WIJF MUSEUM MARINA

A huge number of authentic ships are moored at the Booze Wijf museum marina,
which is located at the magnificent Lauwersmeer National Park. The restaurant,
which overlooks the marina, ensures that the inner spirit is also well looked after.
The Booze Wijf museum marina and restaurant are part of the Beleef Lauwersoog
(explore Lauwersoog). The number of mooring places in this harbour is combined
with the Lauwersgat marina for smaller yachts and motorboats.

The Hunzegat marina near Zoutkamp is the perfect operating base by the
Lauwersmeer lake. Enjoy the calm in this beautiful harbour and explore the
highland waterways. The fifth night is free if you book four nights.
GARNWERD AAN ZEE MARINA
Garnwerd aan Zee has marina facilities at both sides of the bridge. It is a popular
port of call for sailors from and to Groningen, the Lauwersmeer lake or the Wadden.
The Reitdiep has a standing mast connection with Groningen and is a lovely place to
moor. At the Garnwerd aan Zee marina, you are sure to sail the right course.

There are new showers and lavatories, and a washing machine and drier. There is a
restaurant with lovely outdoor cafés and a sandy beach with trampolines and a lawn

BRILTIL MARINA

The Briltil marina and campsite is located in the Groningen Westerkwartier, about one
kilometre from the village of Zuidhorn, where you will find various shops. A bus or train
will take you to the city of Groningen within fifteen minutes. The marina provides lovely
and tranquil overnight accommodation on the Lemmer-Delfzijl waterways, just one
kilometre from the Van Starkenborghkanaal near Zuidhorn. The Gabrug, which you can
operate yourself, provides access to the Hoendiep (about 1.90 m draught), from which
you can sail to the marina. The campsite has spacious pitches with electricity and a
wonderful view of the harbour.

A BEL TASMAN MOTORBOAT

The Abel Tasman motorboat association has a private harbour: ‘t Dok. The harbour
is located by the Oude Eemskanaal and is frequented by transients from the
Netherlands and other countries. Its exceptional location allows for special options
for a cruise to the Dutch and German Frisian islands. Alternatively, sail the Eems
in the direction of Emden, Leer and other German harbours. The Roggenkampsluis
provides access to the Damsterdiep and the Oldambtmeer lake can be reached via
the Termunterzijldiep. Alternatively, head for Friesland and Drenthe by sailing the
Eemskanaal in a westerly direction.

MEERWIJCK HARBOUR
Allround Watersport is a complete marina that has every facility required. Located by
the scenic Zuidlaardermeer lake, the magnificent Veenroute (peat route) and the water
connection with Germany, it is just fifteen minutes by car to Groningen city and 25 to
Germany; the perfect operating base for your leisure boat time.
The marina has every facility required for a longer stay; there are picnic areas,
playing fields and comfortable and modern bathroom facilities. Beavers, otters and
even white-tailed eagles live in the surrounding scenic area. The harbour carries the
‘Blauwe Vlag’ designation due to its safety, comfort and care for the countryside and
surrounding area.

the Groningen paradise: the Zuidlaardermeer lake. If you are a nature or sun lover,
or a water sports enthusiast, be sure to come to the Zuidlaardermeer lake, which
has something for everyone. The lake is a great operating base for a holiday of
water sports holiday.
A LLROUND WATERSPORT
MEERWIJCK SHOP
Centrally located and near the A7, Allround Watersport in Kropswolde provides
the most complete water sports selection. Feel free to browse and become
inspired on two floors with accessories, basic requirements such as anchors
and fenders and technical products such as stainless steel, bow thrusters and
generators. This is also where you find the latest trends in LED lighting, solar
panels and SUP boards. All major brands are available at very reasonable rates
and are installed if required. The shop is located at the harbour site by the
Zuidlaardermeer lake where visitors can see everything that goes on. Be sure to
come by on your boat, in your car or by bike for a lovely outing.
Welcome to the Jachthaven Zuidwesthoek marina. Located by the Paterswoldsemeer
lake and near the city of Groningen, this is much more than a marina. Guests can also
moor their boat safely by one of the five hundred mooring places, or store it in the
winter storage accommodation. And there is more: the marina has a options for hiring
boats (including sloops), selling boats, a water sports shop and the magnificent scenic
beauty of the Paterswoldsemeer lake.

APPINGEDAM MARINA
The Appingedam marina is located in Appingedam centre, at the heart of
the Overdiep plan. From here, take a lovely sailing trip to Groningen, Delfzijl,
the Schildmeer lake or the Wadden Sea and beyond. The harbour has over fifty
mooring places and the jetties are provided with electricity and drinking water
points. The harbour master’s office has various facilities, such as showers,
lavatories and washing machines, in addition to a discharge point for waste water
and refuse containers.
HET DOK NIEUWOLDA MARINA
Jachthaven het Dok Nieuwolda is a small harbour with space for about ten boats.
There are more mooring places on the edges of the Termunterzijldiep. The harbour is
located by the through waterway of Scheemda, Midwolda (Blauwestad), Termunten
and the connection to Delfzijl and beyond. The Eetcafé de Brug pub that also serves
food is located by the harbour, with an extensive menu and various snacks to go.
The lavatories and showers are also located by the pub. The village of Nieuwolda has
a supermarket and bicycle hire.
Come by boat and stay for a few days of camping and sailing; the perfect holiday!
The marina with slipway on the campsite has 250 mooring places. Transients can
spend the night at the Drents Diep, where they can enjoy the campsite’s comfort
and facilities. The transient space also has electricity (6 amperes).

WATERPARC DE BLOEMERT
Waterparc de Bloemert is a Landal holiday park, pavilion, boat hire and marina
in one. This is the perfect operating base for mooring your boat and enjoying the
magnificent surroundings. Go for a walk or a bicycle ride with your own bike or a rental.
Go shopping in the charming village of Zuidlaren (two kilometres away) or enjoy a good
glass of wine and a delicious meal at the outdoor café of the pavilion with a view of the
Zuidlaardermeer lake. There are also options for tennis and miniature golf. In short, this
is the place where you enjoy a pleasant stay.
Next to the harbour is a boat filling station, and the Midwolda beach is nearby.
Go to the Paviljoen de Waternimf for a drink and bite to eat.

The Reiderhaven marina is located in Beerta, near the Blauwestad and at about a
kilometre from the Blauwe Sluis that connects to the Winschoterdiep canal. The
harbour borders the Oltambtmeer and is surrounded by greenery. The landing
stages have water and electricity. In addition to the many facilities on the grounds,
the In den Stallen hotel, the Smederij 1872, the Stoomgemaal (steam pumping
station) and a swimming place at the Beersterplas are all within a radius of half a
kilometre. In short: the Reiderhaven is more than just a harbour.
MIDWOLDA MARINA
The Midwolda marina is located on the northern outskirts of the Oldambtmeer.
This large, over 800-hectare lake was laid out as part of the Blauwestad
residential and recreational project in the east of Groningen. The marina was
opened in 2007 and has about 200 mooring places. This is the largest marina in
the region and has plenty of facilities, including camper places, free showers, a
free slipway and a shop selling water sports items. There is a boat hire and sailing
lessons.
T HE RUNDE MARINA
AND BOAT STORAGE

De Runde marina is located in the southern-most tip of Groningen and on a junction of
four courses of navigation: the Haren-Rütenbrockkanaal, the Stads-Ter Apelerkanaal,
the Ruiten Aa-kanaal and the Veenvaart, which was opened in 2013. Away from the
street and the canal, and in a calm and tranquil environment, the harbour appeals to
long-stay visitors and is also a wonderful stop for transients. This is a true oasis in
Westerwolde.
The marina has 110 mooring places and excellent facilities, such as a restaurant with
a bar and outdoor café, bathroom facilities, a laundry, electrical and water facilities,
Wi-Fi, a shopping trolley, boat lift, a slipway and repair facilities.

The Havenkwartier Blauwestad marina is a pleasant and active harbour with eighty
mooring places and high-quality facilities. Various activities take place during the year,
such as markets, angling matches (for predatory fish also), concerts, festivals and sand
sculptures. There is a boat, fishing boat and canoe hire as well. For more information

A tackle shop is established in the Havenkwartier Blauwestad, in the harbour area next

Tranquillity and quiet characterise the Leekstermeer
lake, which is part of the De Onlanden scenic area. Every
year, the pastures, streams, shrubs and reed lands draw
thousands of migratory birds, and... the otter. But this
shy animal does not show itself easily. The (shallow)
Leekstermeer lake has a sandy bottom and is perfect for
sailing and surfing. The rural lake is easily accessible via
various waterways.

This lake near the city may well be the friendliest
Groningen lake. There are bathing sites, lively outdoor
cafés, footpaths and cycle tracks along the shores and
lovely islands to moor for a picnic. The Paterswoldsemeer
is the very centre of water recreation, featuring an
unexpected guest: the otter. Traces have indicated that
there are one or more otters travelling between the
Paterswoldsemeer and Leekstermeer lakes.

SCHILDMEER LAKE
The Schildmeer between Slochteren and Appingedam is a
small and quiet lake that directly connects to the Dollard
and the Wadden Sea World Heritage through Appingedam
and Delfzijl. The lake is surrounded by reed and rugged
marshy grounds, in addition to beaches for sun lovers.
Old bridges and mills complete the picture. The best
feature of the lake is the Haanssluis, the lock with mitre
gates farmer Hendrik de Haan had constructed in the
nineteenth century to transport earth from and to his
farm. The lock was perfectly renovated in 2012. Next to it
is the Sluushoed, the former lockkeeper’s dwelling.
