The five-star luxury Grand Hotel Rimini,
long considered the symbol of La Dolce
Vita on the Adriatic Riviera, is an astonishing historical residence that proudly

Who has slept in my bed?
Kings and princes, actors and musicians,
politicians and scientists have all been
guests in the hotel’s suites, strolling in its
exotic gardens and dancing on the grand
terrace overlooking the sea. Like a colossal
film set, dominated by the Liberty style
façade, thousands of parties filled with
music have been the backdrop for many
striking moments.
Claretta Petacci, Mussolini’s twenty-year
old mistress, used to sigh at the passing
of the Duce heading for Riccione on his
seaplane.
King Farouk of Eygpt stayed here on the
advice of the beautiful muse of silent cinema Lydia Borrelli. The great tenor Enrico
Caruso wanted a room with a view to remind him of the Gulf of Naples.
Federico Fellini was only 14 years old
when, for the first time, he entered “the
fairytale world of the rich and of luxury”
which later became his home in Rimini that
he shared with his wife Giulietta Masina.
The surgeon Christian Barnard, the famous pioneer of heart transplant surgery,
sat at the same table as Lady Diana during a prestigious gala dinner.
The hotel, much loved by Fellini, has been
a national monument since 1994 and
celebrated its centenary in July 2008.

and playwriter Tonino Guerra used to love
spending his summer holidays, for its leafy

respecting the turn of the seasons, the desire of Antonio Batani and his family
to offer guests in all of their hotels absolutely genuine and guaranteed food has
established a strong reputation.
The Batani farm, established about twenty years ago, is inland a few kilomentres from the coast near the town of Cervia. The farm covers 16 hectares and
cultivates numerous varieties of vegetables, cereals and fruits all according to
natural unintensive agricultural methods whilst honouring the seasons.
We pick cherries, strawberries, peaches and apricots, walnuts, figs, potatoes, aubergines, courgettes and green beans, just to cite a few, and all these cultivated
with great passion arrive every evening direct from the colonial farmhouse and
fields to the kitchens of the hotels of the group.

THE TERRITORY
Even if Romagna is deep-rooted in tradition, it has always been innovative and
up-to-date. This region is extremely rich in cultural, sporting, entertaining and
historical points of interest that each year draw countless numbers of tourists.
The remains of the Roman Empire are still visible today nearly everywhere:
from the Bridge of Tiberius to the Arch of Augustus in Rimini to the magnificent
Mausoleum of Gallia Placida in Ravennna. There are also numerous medieval
fortifications, citadels and castles spread across all the region: the stronghold
of the Malatesta family in Rimini, the forts and boroughs of ancient Sant’Arcangelo
di Romagna and of San Leo, the castle of Azzurrina, the fortress of Verucchio...

the famous “piadina”, an age-old warm
