Wire EDM
Wire EDM machines use a metallic wire
(electrode) to cut a programmed contour into a
workpiece. Extrusion dies and blanking punches
are often machined by wire cutting. In the
machining area, each discharge creates a crater
in the workpiece (material removal) and an impact
on the tool (wear of the tool/electrode). The wire
can be inclined, thus making it possible to make
parts with taper or with different profiles at the
top and bottom. The wire is usually made of brass
or stratified copper, and are between 0.02 and
0.33 mm diameter.

Has a high level of flexibility and low running cost,
the ideal machine for any EDM work shop.
Cut X00 Series:
Is a powerful wire EDM that satisfies demanding high-speed machining with respect of surface
integrity. Comply with requirements of complex and
large workpieces in die manufacturing, aerospace,

Cut X000 Series:
Are machines capable of achieving sub-micron positions for producing parts of extreme accuracy and
nano level surface finish down to RA 0.04 µm

EDM
GF Machining Solutions is revolutionizing
die-sinking EDM with features like FTC - the
world’s fastest tool changer - and IQ technology
that dramatically reduces electrode wear. All of
our die-sinking systems offer fast removal and
deliver mirror finishes of Ra 0.2 µm (8 µin) with
pulse duration as short as 50 nanoseconds.
Hole drilling EDM uses low cost electrode tube
(normally brass or copper material) to drill holes
on a electrically conductive material at a very high
speed, the hole depth diameter ratio can reach up
to 200. The hole diameter is normally from 0.3mm
to 3.0mm, with five axis configuration the machine
can drill hole at any angles on a inclined surface
workpiece. This technology is widely used for hole
machining in aerospace, energy, cutting tools,
automotive, medical, mold and die industries.
Die-Sink Solutions
Form X0:
Both the FORM 20 and FORM 30, are the most compact universal machines in the standard EDM level segment. In only just three feet of width, a 36in x 21in workpiece can be loaded, allowing reduction of fixed costs.
Form X00:
With the Speed Finishing module the precision of detail is respected and it enables fine and even shiny surface finishes (Ra ≤ 0.4µm) of unmatched homogeneity on small to large surfaces to be obtained.
Hole-Drill Solutions
Drill 20:
With numerical control axes X,Y and Z the Drill 20 is widely used for drilling starting holes with the electrode
range Ø 0.004-0.12in and with electrode materials brass, copper and carbide, and workpiece materials steel
and carbide.
Drill 300:
Equipped with GF Machining Solutions’ latest digital generator and CNC, compact fixed table mechanics and
high degree of automation. Thanks to fast drilling, low wear technology and automatic electrode/guide changer, the machine provides the maximum productivity in die plates, automotive, medical industries.
