A Message from Our CEO and Board Chair
We are pleased to share Food Bank of the Rockies 2014 Annual Report. Again this year, our report
demonstrates the generosity of our supporters and success of our organization in the many ways we work
to feed the hungry in our service area. Year after year, we've set records in pounds distributed and this year
is no exception. We received the tremendous honor of the highest 4-star rating from Charity Navigator for
the 5th consecutive year. Only 4% of the charities rated by Charity Navigator have received at least 5
consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating Food Bank of the Rockies outperforms most other charities in
America.
We continue to turn every dollar we receive into four meals or ve pounds of food and this year, more than
96 cents of every dollar we received was spent on food distribution. We couldn't have accomplished any
of this without the wonderful support from our community, those featured in the donor pages of this report
and the many more who contributed to help us ght hunger.
We are proud of what we've accomplished this past year but we know our work is not done. 1 in 7
Coloradans struggles to have enough to eat and nearly 1 in 4 children are living in food insecure
households. Each child eating a meal at one of our Kids Cafe sites, each senior who receives a box of
USDA food, each family receiving food at our mobile pantry or at one of our partner agencies' pantries,
every one of the children and seniors taking home Totes of Hope™ – they are the reason we come to work
every day. We know we'll face challenges in the coming year, but it's their challenge to eat that continues
to motivate us to do better and do more.
As you see our trucks on the road or read stories about the people we help, please know it's because of
you that we're able to provide food and hope! Your support is vital and we appreciate you joining us in the

Food Bank of the Rockies Endowment
An endowment gift provides for the future needs of Food Bank of the Rockies. Your gift helps ensure
Food Bank of the Rockies will be around to fight hunger and feed hope for as long as our services are
needed.
Denver Investment Advisors manages Food Bank of the Rockies’ endowment fund. Funds are
invested, with the principal of each gift kept intact. Once the corpus of the fund reaches $1,000,000,
the income from the investment can be used to:
•Purchase capital needs such as trucks for distribution or improvements to our buildings;
•Expand or implement a new program that will help us reach those in need, and;
•Act as a safety net should disaster hit and funding become scarce.
Endowment support could be a one-time gift of cash, a multi-year pledge and/or a planned gift.
