vCat is a PC-based performance testing
solution which effects the available
bandwidth, latency and packet loss on a network
interface (NIC) in order to emulate real-world network
conditions for applications running on the same PC.
This enables more accurate performance testing,
analysis and optimization.

and managed from a central location. Each vCat client
simulates a network link so that members of a performance

scenarios from a library of typical network topologies,
allowing for fast test set up without networking
knowledge. Or, custom topologies can be created through
vCat’s modeling interface. Either way, users are on the fast

performance testing from a WiFi-connected smartphone or
tablet, as well as a local area network connection.

ptimization recommendations – Leveraging a set
of proprietary and proven rulesets, vCat automatically
delivers a performance scorecard, along with customized
and specific recommendations for optimizing the
performance of Mobile and Web applications. These
recommendations have been tested and shown to improve
performance by over 40%.

lexible emulation – vCat emulates bandwidths up to
100 Mbps and accounts for both available (allocated)
bandwidth and variability in available bandwidth, enabling
more reliable emulation of Mobile and Web network
conditions. In addition, mobile-specific application
performance testing is made easy via a library of predefined mobile emulation parameters based on typical and
worst case mobile network conditions.
