CLINICAL CASE STUDY
AQUASORB
A 100-year-old female was readmitted to
her long term care residence with multiple
stage II wounds secondary to pressure,
friction and incontinence. The patient
presented with fungal infections; anti-fungal
cream was applied twice daily for one
week, and the patient was placed on a low
air-loss specialty bed. One week later, use
of the anti-fungal cream was discontinued.
Aquasorb Hydrogel Wound Dressing was
applied April 17. The patient remained on
the specialty bed.
18 days after the start of Aquasorb,
patient’s wounds have improved. The skin
around the wounds is healthy and
granulating. The patient remains on the
specialty bed.
Date: May 5
Two days after one application, Aquasorb
was still securely in place and still absorbing
wound drainage. Aquasorb remained intact
on removal and left no residue on the
wound.
Date: May 7
• No messy residue
• Easily conforms to hard-to-dress areas and irregular wound
sites
Date: April 10

border or Covaderm® fabric tape border to eliminate
adhesive taping
• Primary or secondary dressing
