... for a Lifetime!
Dear Friends of KCE,
I hope this holiday season finds you and your family
healthy and happy.
As we look back at the 2010 KCE year many
wonderful changes have occurred. Four new board
members were appointed to the Auburn Bainbridge
Recreation Board. We launched a new website this
summer, introduced new enrichment classes, and
started several new sport leagues for our community.
Our Program Coordinator, Beth Frey, spends countless hours striving to bring our community the best
programs possible at affordable prices. Ann Faist and
Kathy Hurley work diligently to make the facilities
schedules accurate while trying to get the most out
of the time we have. Laura Wendel, our Customer
Service representative, takes service to our community past excellence. Pat Moore joined our team last
year as equipment manager, making sure all of the
equipment used by our young players is updated
and safe. Our newest member, Carol Magyarics,
works as staff consultant.
KCE is also built on the dedication of our volunteers
and we need your support. There are many opportunities that you as a community member can
do to assist KCE. Sponsoring a team, advertising in
our catalog, or volunteering your time to one of our
many programs are some examples of how you can
help. As a parent or participant, making sure you
pick your children up on time, checking the website
for changes, managing siblings, and taking care of
our facilities go a long way in helping our programs
run smoothly.
As we look forward to the new year, it is our hope for
continuing improvement and your input is appreciated. Any comments or complaints about our programs are welcome and always kept anonymous. In
2011, KCE will continue to improve and stay focused
on our mission, which is to bring quality enrichment
and recreational programs to our community.
Have a Safe and Happy Holiday!

LEARNING ITALIAN #0435
Just Once Piano #0451
(ages 13 +)
Instructor: Frank Borroni
Instructor: Michael Edwards
An introductory course concentrating on spoken and written Italian. The
instructor will emphasize contemporary
Italian. Students will learn basic grammatical skills and useful conversational
expressions. The major focus will be on
conversational Italian. Required material to purchase - “Avanti con l”italiano” by
Joanne Perrotta Paaselli.
Some music teachers may not want you to know this, but you don’t
need years of weekly lessons to learn piano. In just a few hours, you
can learn enough secrets of the trade to give you years of musical
enjoyment. How do we do it? While regular piano teachers teach
note reading, piano professionals use chords. And you can learn
all the chords you’ll need to play any song in this one session. Any
song. Any style. Any key. If you can find middle C and know the
meaning of Every Good Boy Does Fine, you already know enough to
enroll in this workshop. Topics include how chords work in a song,
how to get more out of sheet music by reading less
of it, how to form the three main types of chords, and
how to handle different keys and time signatures.
Required Materials fee of $29 for workbook and practice CD will be collected in class by the instructor.

but simply find it difficult to find the

it. This crash course will teach you some
basic chords and get you playing along
with your favorite songs right away.
Bring your acoustic guitar. Class limited

information go to instantguitarnow.com

the violin at the Suziki Department of Cleveland Institute of Music, Baldwin Wallace College, Solon Fine Art Center, Agnon School, Menlo Park Academy, The Broadway School as

magic world of playing this fabulous instrument. It offers the ideal combination of a non pressured teaching and the rigor of a
musical training with a professional teacher. In the same respect, children participate in regular group lessons and performance
at which they learn from, and are motivated by each other while they have fun together. This curriculum will follow the levels
presented by the American String Teachers Association a national standard for school string programs,
Beginning students will learn basic posture on the practice violin, the bow hold on the practice bow, and build a foundation for
playing the real violin. Students will be measured with their first real violin and practice it in class.

LIFEGUARDING #1203
Instructors: Nancy Fisher, ARC WSI, American Red Cross LGI
(ages 13 +)
Some music teachers may not want you to know this, but
you don’t need years of weekly lessons to learn piano. In
just a few hours, you can learn enough secrets of the trade
to give you years of musical enjoyment. How do we do
it? While regular piano teachers teach note reading, piano
professionals use chords. You can learn all the chords you’ll
need to play any song in this one session. - any song, any
style, any key. If you can find middle C and know the meaning of Every Good Boy Does Fine, you already know enough
to enroll in this workshop. Topics include how chords work
in a song, how to get more out of sheet music by reading
less of it, how to form the three main types of chords, and
how to handle different keys and time signatures.
Required Materials fee of $29 for workbook and practice CD
