objective is therapy and prevention
of addictive substance abuse in the
wider area of central Greece.
Its units provide motivation, therapy,

services to users and former users of
addictive substances, as well as
support to their families. Its
intervention is long-lasting, intensive

ensuring the users' right to
substantial rehabilitation and change
of life-style. Also it operates a
Counselling Center in Larissa, as
well as in Trikala, where preparation
takes place for entry to the
Therapeutic Community (60-person
capacity), which is located in a rural
area at the outskirts of Larissa. At
the same time, there are a Center of
Social Re-integration and a Family
Support Center, which provides
counselling and support to members
of families faced with a substance
abuse problem. The structure of the
Programme also includes Research

needs of the programme's members
led to the creation of the Transitional

a treatment and rehabilitation
approach where clients live in small
structured drug-free communities.
The
goal
is
to

to enable people to maintain a drugfree existence. The treatment
approach is based on peer support,
and participants are expected to
contribute to the general running of

Therapeutic Communities (TC) are
designed to foster change and

a
highly

environment.
The focus is on offering a holistic
