Authorized Purchases Orders may be charged
to a specific Region, Area or Section account if the
person placing the order is on file as an authorized
purchaser at the Supply Center. To ensure authorized
purchaser information is up to date, Executive
Members need to fill out the Information Form (go
to www.AYSO.org) or you may update online at
www.eAYSO.org.
Area and Section Purchases Supplies ordered by
Areas and Sections for staff use may be charged to the
Section operating budget with the Section Director’s
approval.
Shipping Orders will be processed in eight business days
and will be shipped UPS Ground at the lowest available

AYSO referees influence far more than just the flow of the game. Referees must help
everyone remember that the behavior and attitude of adults influence the behavior and
attitude of the players. The model set by adults (referees, coaches and spectators) at games
influences the development of the young players. The referee team establishes the parameters
of acceptable behavior and must be attentive to and deal appropriately with any adult

Know what to look for…
AYSO Supervision Protocols hold the Team Coach
responsible for all players until they are picked up by
the designated adult or otherwise leave the area as
approved by parents or guardians. AYSO recommends:
• A minimum of 2 adults present at all times.
• One adult for every 8 or fewer children.
• At least 1 adult must be of the same gender as
the players.
• No adult should ever be alone with a child other
than their own, including when traveling in a car.
• AYSO’s “Buddy System” should always have 3
players.
For safety reasons, AYSO does not encourage
allowing players to walk or bike home alone from
practices or games.
All messages regarding AYSO activities are directed
to parents/guardians and adults are counseled against
engaging in private conversations or text messages
with minors.
Adult contact and conversations with children must
always be within sight of others, developmentally
appropriate, brief in duration and based on the
need of the child and his/her age. Any inappropriate
physical contact, time alone with a child, comments,
jokes, favoritism or gift giving should be brought to
the attention of a Regional Board Member. For more

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS
ACTION PLAN
Athletes who experience one or more of the signs or symptoms
listed below after a bump, blow, or jolt to the head or body may have
a concussion.
AYSO - it’s for the kids!

If you suspect that an athlete has a concussion, you should take the
following four steps:
1. Remove the athlete from play.
2. Ensure that the athlete is evaluated by a health care
professional experienced in evaluating for concussion.
Do not try to judge the seriousness of the injury yourself.
SIGNS OBSERVED
• Appears dazed or stunned
• Is confused about assignment or position
• Forgets an instruction
3. Inform the athlete’s parents or guardians about the possible
concussion and give them the CDC fact sheet for parents on concussion.
• Is unsure of game, score, or opponent
• Moves clumsily
4. Keep the athlete out of play the day of the injury and until a
health care professional, experienced in evaluating for concussion,
says they are symptom-free and it’s OK to return to play.
• Answers questions slowly
• Loses consciousness (even brieﬂy)
• Shows mood, behavior, or personality changes

The mission of the AYSO VIP® Program is to provide a quality soccer
experience for children and adults whose physical or mental disabilities
make it difficult for them to successfully participate on mainstream soccer
teams. What is successful participation? It should be defined by the player’s
enjoyment and the safety of all team members. VIP teams offer many players
with disabilities the least restrictive and safest environment in which to
