The Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) has awarded Geneva School District its Meritorious Budget Award (MBA) for excellence in budget presentation. This is the third time Geneva School District has submitted an application for and received this award. To earn this award, the District submitted its 2013–2014 budget for a rigorous review based on stringent criteria. The award is conferred only to school entities that have met or exceeded the Meritorious Budget Award criteria. Hawks Hollow Grand “Hatching” Event – April 12 As part of Peck Farm Park’s Earth Day Celebration, Geneva Park District will celebrate the re-opening of Hawks Hollow Nature Playground with a Grand “Hatching” Event from 11 am – 3 pm. Explore the playground with a nature scavenger hunt through its eight interactive learning stations featuring native bird species and natural elements. Hawks Hollow Nature Playground is a 2014 Illinois Parks & Recreation Outstanding Facility that engages visitors in environmental education through hands-on activities and unstructured play. Adopt a Butterfly Party – May 23 Celebrate the re-opening of Peck Farm Park’s Butterfly House at its Adopt a Butterfly Party from 3 – 5 pm. All ages will enjoy the splendor of releasing a live butterfly into its new home.
