Create a Climograph
Create a Climograph
Objective: Create a climograph for a United States city
1. Go to Mr. Elroy’s teacher page. Click on “Important Documents
and Web Pages” link. Click on the link under “Climographs.”
2. You may pick any city in any state
3. Make the climograph on drawing paper. Use your notes and
the practice sheet from when we took notes to help. You can
round the precipitation numbers to the nearest inch. However,
this will earn you a “3/meets” and not a “4/exceeding”
4. Make sure you are accurate, organized, and neat. Even
spacing of your numbers and months is important. Use color and
space well.
5. Use the rubric to make sure you have fulfilled all the
requirements.

Climograph Checklist
_____ Go to Mr. Elroy’s teacher page. Click on “Important
Documents and Web Pages” link. Click on the link under
“Climographs.” Choose a city.
_____ Get a piece of drawing paper. Make the outline of your
climograph. Temperature goes up the right side. Precipitation
goes up the left side. Months go across the bottom. Make sure to
write the units. Use the WS of examples for help.
_____ Make a bar graph for the precipitation each month. Make
sure it matches up with the correct amount on the left side of
your climograph.
_____ Make a line graph for the temperature each month. Make
sure it matches up with the correct amount on the right side of
your climograph.
_____ Add color. Go over pencil markings with color, too.
