The closures are in effect from January 1st to April 15th inclusive. The Revelstoke Snowmobile Club and the Snowmobile Revelstoke Society promote environ-mental stewardship. CLOSURE CARIBOU Another popular area. Turn off the Trans-Canada Highway, 0.6 km west of town, and travel to the main Boulder/Frisby parking area approx. 2 km on Westside Road. The new Streeter Street trail connects the parking lot with Frisby Ridge and Boulder Mountain. Alternative parking is available at the foot of Frisby Ridge near Glacier House Resort. Marked trails lead 20 kms to the new Feldinger Cabin, and 144 sq. km of alpine riding areas. Frisby is a scenic north-south ridge ride. New signage markers EVERY km help to guide riders through some narrow ridges 10 km past the cabin. 25 km of non-groomed forest road lead north along Lake Revelstoke. Riding altitude: 4500 - 6500 ft. Do not ride in areas designated as closed to snowmobiling. Please watch for and obey all posted signs. If wildlife is encountered, refrain from approaching. Stay on your snowmobile. If wildlife is encountered on a road or designated trail, turn off the engine and remain on your sled. Wait until the wildlife have moved off the road or trail before continuing and make every effort to stay as far away from wildlife as safely possible. If wildlife is encountered in a play area, do not approach. Shut down your machine to give the animal(s) a chance to move away, then leave the area and refrain from riding within sight of the wildlife. If wildlife tracks are observed, don't follow the tracks. It’s okay to take photographs of wildlife if form a respectful and safe distance. Boulder Mountain Area Revelstoke’s most popular riding area. Turn off the TransCanada Highway, 0.6 km west of town, and travel to the main Boulder/Frisby parking area approx. 2 km on Westside Road. From the parking lot, over 50+ km of groomed trails lead to 84 sq. km. of alpine riding areas. Boulder offers terrain for ALL riding abilities. Large open bowls with easy access, and great views for the family. Long hill-climbs for the more experienced riders. The Revelstoke Snowmobile Club maintains a day cabin, at the terminus of the three main trails: Bezanson, Veideman, and Kirkup. Major trails are marked by club members, as well as prominent landmarks and junctions. There is a Guest book at the cabin, we urge you to sign in and out. Riding altitude: 5000 - 7000 ft. SE CLO Trap Line Westside Forestry Road Keystone Basin Fast becoming a popular area, it is 52 km north on Highway 23. Parking is limited. This area is not groomed at this time, but may be in the future. This is a very large area, for more experienced riders. Extra gas is a must. Avalanche equipment is recommended. Large bowls and very long climbs abound. This is a remote region, pack gear accordingly. Watch for caribou, and respect their space. There is a Forestry cabin in the eastern area, please sign in, and keep it tidy. Riding altitude: 5500 - 8000 ft. Parking is limited on the Highway, use caution. A road leads to the top of the mountain, which allows early and late season access to the snow. There is a B.C. Hydro Communications tower at the top. This is Private Property, please respect it, and do not go near it. The mountain is a TENURED area, which means limited access to sledding. Signage shows that Nordic skiers, and Selkirk Tangiers Heli-skiing uses areas South of the tower. Also, this area borders a National Park to the south. No riding in Park areas is allowed.
