A Taste of Russia (7 NTS)
Highlights of Russia (7 NTS)
Moscow (2 NTS) - Night train - Veliky Novgorod (1 NT) St. Petersburg (3 NTS)
Taste the Russian culture, traditions and the way of life by visiting 3
completely different cities: never sleeping, Europe’s largest megapolis,
Moscow; gorgeous Saint-Petersburg with pompous baroque palaces
and romantic canals; provincial Novgorod with the spirit of the medieval
Rus that survived in the oldest masterpieces of Russian architecture.
Compare the peculiarities of these cities and make your own mosaic
of Russia.
Moscow (3 NTS) - Day train - St. Petersburg (4 NTS)
Get the crème of the crop by visiting Moscow and Saint-Petersburg!
The greatest museums, monuments and other tourist highlights are
located in these two main Russian cities. Start discovering Russia from
vibrant and impressive Moscow and continue to Saint-Petersburg,
the splendid “Northern Venice” believed by many to be the most
beautiful European town. Saint-Petersburg was the capital of the
Russian empire for more than two hundred years, until it moved
back to Moscow in 1918. Explore the difference between acting and
former capitals of Russia by comparing clubs, shops, city sights and
the way of life.

Three Capitals (9 NTS)
Moscow (2 NTS) - Day train - Vladimir/ Suzdal (1 NT) - Night
train to St. Petersburg (3 NTS)
The Golden Ring refers to a 700km long route around architectural
and artistic riches of old Russian towns which is a most enchanting way
of learning more about Russia. It goes to the north-east of Moscow
and forms a circle of big and small towns which preserved their great
historical and architectural wonders. This is the ancient heart of Russia
as it was many centuries ago.
Kiev (2 NTS) - Overnight train (1 NT) - Moscow (2 NTS) Day train - St. Petersburg (4 NTS)
Visit 2 countries and 3 cities and get an idea of Russian state
formation. Kiev, the capital of independent Ukraine, was the cradle
of the Russian civilization. The capital of Kievan Rus was one of
the most powerful and beautiful towns in medieval Europe. It still
boasts astonishing ancient buildings, though the city was completely
burnt down by Mongols. After the Mongols, Kiev never recovered
it’s power, but Moscow was the successor. During the reign of Peter
the Great, the Russian capital moved to Saint-Petersburg, which
was specially built under the Tzars’ patronage as the most beautiful
European city.

Lisbon
W
hile it’s true that Portugal is no longer the Iberian Peninsula’s bestkept secret, it’s fairly easy to escape the crowds. Even at the
busiest resorts on the Algarve, it only takes a bus ride or a short
walk to reveal rarely visited places that still offer the feeling of discovery. Portugal
has an old-fashioned charm, with medieval castles and picture-perfect villages
scattered over meandering coastlines and flower-covered hillsides. From the
ancient university town of Coimbra to Lord Byron’s favourite Portuguese haunt,
Sintra, the country’s proud history can be felt everywhere. Sun-kissed beaches
like Cascais and Sagres offer enticements of a more hedonistic sort. Indeed,
the dramatic, end-of-the-world cliffs, wild dune-covered beaches, protected
coves and long, sandy islands of Portugal’s coastline have long enchanted visitors
and locals alike. Meanwhile, the country’s capital, Lisbon, and its northern rival,
O’Porto, are magical places for the wanderer, with riverside views, cobblestone
streets and rattling trams framed by looming cathedrals.
Memorable Must-do Experiences
• For a perfect introduction to Lisbon, hop on the yellow tram
rattling around the city day and night.
• Explore the St George’s Castle, with some of the oldest
parts of the building dating back to 6th century!
• The Santa Justa Lift is a striking city landmark, a bold
wrought-iron elevator dating back to 1902. The lift connects
the lower and upper terraces of the city and the observation
deck offers sweeping views of the city.

Provence and the wild ruggedness of the Ardeche gorges to the medieval
allure of Avignon - on this truly enthralling cruise every day is full of
fascination. We start in France’s gastronomic capital, Lyon, and explore
the beautiful Saone and Rhone rivers, the preferred route of traders and
invaders alike since the dawn of recorded history. Everywhere there are
reminders of the Romans and the greatest empire of the ancient world.
You will be staggered by the engineering genius of the vast amphitheatre
at Arles and the huge aqueduct at the Pont du Gard. Avignon was the
seat of the Papacy during medieval times, heralding a century of greatness
crowned by the absorbing Papal Palace and its stunning renaissance art
collection. Van Gogh created arguably his greatest works in Provence and
all this is set in some of France’s most stunning natural beauty - all waiting
to be discovered on this wonderful cruise.

French Winter Holidays - Legendary Chamonix & Val D’Isere
Legendary Chamonix
In the streets of this high-mountain town you’ll hear languages from every
corner of the globe. But the people who come to this ‘summit meeting’
share the same way of thinking, the same love for mountaineering, its
legends and its ethics. When you’re out shopping in the town centre,
wherever you are, look up and you’ll see ‘it’ there… 4,810 metres of rock,
snow, ice and dreams of things to come.
Chamonix offers a multitude of slopes for all levels, each ski area having
its own merit. Tremendously long slopes, skiing through the trees, freeride
and off-piste, beginners slopes: an infinite number of possibilities for
snowriders and mountain lovers alike. Situated between the altitudes of
1,235 m. and 3,300 m., the Grands Montets area enables you to ski the
greatest height losses in the world in the heart of the mountains, close to
a glacier. The pistes are spread over three slopes - the Argentière glacier,
Lognan and the Pendant which also offer magnificent off-piste, known
throughout the world and essential for freeriders. The quality of the snow
coverage is remarkable up until May. For freestyle enthusiasts, a snowpark
and a boardercross are open in the Lognan area. You can ski back to the
resort on the Pierre à Ric piste.
Val d’Isere
Located at an altitude of 1,821 meters, Val-d’Isère is one of the most
famous skiing villages of the French Alps, and has merged with the skiing
station Tignes to form the „most beautiful skiing region of the world“–
Espace Killy. The two local mountains alone Val-d’Isères – Solaise and
Bellevarde – provide skiers of all levels with a broad range of slopes and
variants – from practice to professional slopes. Thanks to numerous, Fastfour thousanders“ that surround the ski region of Val-d’Isère, especially the
freeride and off-piste options are almost legendary already.
Italian Winter Holidays
For people who don’t mind the cold, winter can be a great time to travel
in Italy. Most of Italy sees fewer tourists in winter, meaning less crowded
museums and shorter or non-existent lines. During winter, opera,
symphonies and theatre productions are in full swing. For winter sports
enthusiasts, Italy’s mountains offer lots of opportunities.
Skiing holidays to Italy tend to offer better value than to the more illustrious
Alpine resorts in Austria, France and Switzerland. But, the runs are equally
as impressive and of course there’s the fabulous Italian food!
Nestled between the Northern and Southern Alps, close to the Swiss
border lies the duty free resort of Livigno. Nestled at a high altitude.
Livigno has a good ski record, even when conditions are not as favourable
elsewhere. Livigno is a superb all-round and affordable ski resort offering
high altitude skiing, plenty of entertainment and fantastic shopping.
Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy’s premier mountain resort, is exclusively
positioned in the breathtaking UNESCO World Natural Heritage
Dolomites, one of the most beautiful and unique alpine regions in the
world. A ‘Best of the Alps’ resort and a symbol of style, fashion and the
Italian way of life, Cortina is the perfect destination for those who seek
a truly special holiday experience where natural beauty, culture, tradition,
art, food and wine fuse together in pure enjoyment.
Austria & Switzerland - Alpine Winter Holidays

programme. Kitzbuhel is an ideal destination for a ski holiday - perfect too
for non-skiers with a variety of activities to enjoy.
A South African favourite, and the Apres Ski capital of Austria, Saalbach
is an attractive Austrian village in the heart of picturesque Salzburerland.
The ski area covers over 200km and is known as the “Ski Circus”. It caters
for all levels of skiers and is a truly magical resort catering for all type of
travellers. It will not disappoint you!
Switzerland

centres of the world. Nestled in a deep valley enclosed between steeply
scarped mountains, it is dominated by the huge and gracefully curved
pyramid of the Matterhorn. From the moment you step off your Swissred train and catch sight of the cobbled streets and horses with sleighs
patiently waiting for their rides, you know you are in a special place.
