Data Translation and Routing
TopHAT facilitates the smooth transfer of essential data to and
from your terminal sites and back-office. Master file data,
Credit Status, and Allocation/Order records are efficiently
translated and routed from multiple back-office systems to the
appropriate destination. Any issues with data delivery can be
quickly identified and corrected with TopHAT's Queue
Manager.
To improve the interfaces with SAP and other ERP systems,
TopHAT also incorporates a number of improvements over
TMS-Host including:

TopHAT is designed for managing and optimizing multiterminal operations. TopHAT manages both company-owned
and non-owned facilities by providing a centralized solution
that handles complex data translation and routing
requirements between terminal sites and the corporate backoffice. TopHAT also serves as a Data Warehouse providing
access to both historical and current corporate information
that may otherwise be locked up in complex ERP and legacy
systems. TopHAT is designed to fit easily into your corporate
IT strategy, providing the ideal location for corporate-wide
data queries and reporting. Several add-on modules are also
available in TopHAT to accomplish such tasks as centralized
Allocations Management and centralized Dispatched Order
Management.

Windows-based Interface & Linux Reliability
The TopHAT user interface is a Windowsbased client developed using the latest
Microsoft .NET technology. This rich-client
architecture offers an attractive graphical
interface with good performance over both
low and high speed connections. Missioncritical applications, however, are still
controlled by the Linux server, so any client
PC lockups or failures will not impact
TopHAT's core functionality.
The TopHAT user interface also provides
excellent integration within the corporate
network. For example, printer support is
managed by the connected workstation and
not by the TopHAT server. The TopHAT user
interface also supports the “cut and paste”
functionality found in many Windows
applications.

TopHAT Hardware

TopHAT is designed to run on most Intel-based servers and
provides support for multi-processor platforms, if required.
The exact hardware requirements are based on a number
of factors including the number of connected clients and
the Data Warehouse capacity. TopHAT utilizes the Linux
operating system which is supported by most server
vendors. For extremely demanding applications, Linux
provides support for PC clustering and for RAID
technologies. Linux also provides extensive support for
PC hardware.
