Pre-‐Medical Students “Stanford’s environment is one that embraces new ideas and change, and is helping me to bring together my interest in combining traditional Hawaiian culture with Western medicine.” MD/PhD Candidates “I took the parts of medicine that I loved and put them together: laboratory research and an interest in the clinical well-‐being of American Indians. I learned that if you are passionate about something, you will find a way to make it happen.” Fellows & Residents “Kids don’t get to see enough black doctors, teachers, lawyers, professors. It’s important for them to see someone who looks like them, to let them know that they can do what we do too. It means something that I’m doing this…” Renowned Faculty “I am interested now in mentoring young trainees…the next generation of young physicians will determine where medicine will go and therefore keep medicine on the right track.” COEDME
