" T h e play will be given on November 19, the proceeds of which w i l l go to " T h e Port L i g h t , " the High School year book. T h i s is in accordance with the practice of other years of giving a fall play for the benefit of the school year book. I n the opinion of Miss Hawthorne, the play should be an outstanding sensation and a display of talent and good acting. T r y o u t s were held Monday, October 11, a n d second tryouts were held on Wednesday. October 13. Besides characterization, a leading criterion in the decision by Miss H a w t h o r n e was voice control and volume. J e a n S t a r k w e a t h e r Paith C r o m b i e E i l e e n L a n d y Griggs Elssworth E r b (Continued on Page 4) Drama Class Forms Port Student Theater T h e D r a m a t i c s C l a s s intends to orgainize a Port Washington S t u dent's T h e a t r e (P.W.S.T.) which will present a o n e - a c t play every six weeks for a n o m i n a l fee. T h e s e plays will be performed on the stage in Miss Hawthorne's room. T h e directing, publicity, business management, a n d stage management, will be i n charge of the s t u dents of the dramatics class, a n a r rangement s i m i l a r to that used i n presenting the interclass play c o n test. However, everyone i n the school is eligible to act i n these plays. B y acting i n four of these plays, one may become a member of the R e d Domino. T h i s also aids i n supplying an outlet for the d r a m a t i c ability of those who cannot obtain parts in the a n n u a l plays, because less volume is required. T h e program will be a r r a n g e d t h u s : one week for tryouts, two v/eeks for rehearsals a n d two p e r formances during the fourth week. T w o weeks will elapse before the process is repeated. Mysteries, farces, a n d comedies will be featured. A s a n added at traction, the first program, w h i c h ^ w l l l be featured. S a u l Scherer, c h a i r m a n . T h e y will oppose Stony Brook, a prep school, w h i c h they first met last year on Seeber F i e l d a n d h a n d ed a decisive 46-0 defeat.
