Experience the Education. February 2015. Volume 10 Issue 2.
"You have to love dancing to stick to it. It gives you nothing back, no manuscripts to
store away, no paintings to show on walls and maybe hang in museums, no poems to
be printed and sold, nothing but that single fleeting moment when you feel alive."
Merce Cunningham

Kat Wildish Presents: Performing in NY Spotlight Series
Kat Wildish's new Spotlight Series is an exciting additional performance opportunity for
solo dancers, duets, and small groups with 6 dancers or less. Different from the
Performing in NY Showcase, the Spotlight Series gives dancers in all styles a
performance opportunity to be featured performing in a solo or smaller group in a
Black box/Salon setting to hone their skills. Participating dancers must prepare their
own work for two studio showings held at The Ailey Studios the evening of March 1,
2015.
To be considered for this showcase:
Submit your bio and a video of your piece before February 20
Ensure that the piece you intend to present has no more than 6 dancers
Plan to be available from 4 - 9 pm on March 1
Two performances occur on March 1 at the Ailey Studio Theater
Contact [email protected] for more information or to purchase tickets for this
event.

Happy Anniversary
Our Newsletter Is Ten
Kat's Ballet E-News is celebrating it's tenth anniversary! Much has changed from its
early days when:
Twitter referred to a bird call
The newsletter had a black background and white text
There were more phone numbers and fewer links
Each issue was one long email with little or no formatting
The survival of the newsletter and its current layout is in no small part due to Taylor
Gordon's expertise and vision. As we begin a new year, that too has changed as she
has graciously passed the editor's baton on to me: Rebecca Tomlinson. Fear not

newsletter readers - she is still with us working behind the scenes and bringing her
great eye to each issue. Though I can only imagine what the newsletter will be ten
years from now, the one thing I am sure of is that it will still have the same loyal, and
passionate readers we have now.
