The area can be reached by float plane from the air base at Temiscamie River, a distance of 165 km to the southwest. The property contains 1159 cells in three contiguous blocks with a surface area of nearly 600 km2. Xemplar Energy Corporation acquired a 100% interest in the property from the owner, Peter Bambic, by an agreement dated September 28, 2005. The consideration was cash, shares of Xemplar and additional future cash payments contingent on financing. The property will be subject a 2% NSR royalty in favour of the owner and a 1 % NSR royalty on 227 cell in favour of Majescor Resources Inc. a former owner of the these 227 cells. A portion of these royalties is purchasable by Xemplar. This agreement is subject to approval by regulatory authorities. The property is within the Otish Basin, a late proterzoic sedimentary sequence that unconformably overlies the Archean Craton in the Superior Province of the Canadian Shield. Block 1 of the property is situated on the western rim of the Basin and locally sandstones of the basin form a shallow cover over an Archean metavolcanic belt. Blocks 2 and 3 not only cover thicker sequences of sediments in the central portion of the Basin but also portion of the northeastern rim of the Basin with thinner sequences. The Otish region has a rich history of Uranium exploration starting in the late sixties and lasting until 1985. It is now the focus of very active exploration for diamonds prompted by the discovery of diamonds in the Renard cluster of kimberlite pipes by Ashton Diamonds (Canada) Ltd. Past exploration for uranium in the Otish basin, because of its many similarities with the uranium rich Athabasca Basin in Saskatchewan, focused on finding unconformity associated uranium deposits. This, because of the limited capabilities for depth penetration of geophysical instruments, effectively covered only the very edges of the Otish Basin. An intense exploration effort was also done in the central portion of the Otish basin by a joint venture of Cogema/Soquem for epigenetic, diabase/fault related uranium mineralization. The overall result was the discovery and testing of many uranium showings in the Otish Basin sediments. The principal result was the discovery by Cogema/Soquem of the L-zone. Cogema calculated that that the L-zone contains 2,027 tonnes of Uranium within 385,000 tonnes (cut-off of 0.1% U) grading 0.595% U, 0.5 g/t Au. Note that these numbers are historic in-house calculations that have not been verified by the author, do not conform to the present requirements of NI 43-101 regarding resource and reserve definition and cannot be considered resources or reserves in any way. An examination of the vast exploration records by the author lead to the recommendations to further explore the Property (Phase 1) by; drill testing three targets where Cogema discovered Uranium mineralization and did not pursue exploration, completing VTEM or MEGATEM airborne 2 surveys over a 190 km of the property where Otish basin sediments are shallow and further research the vast amount of exploration data available for the property. The three drill targets are: • • DDH OELU 22 In this drill hole, uranium mineralization (0.17% over 0.8m) occurs at the south side of a Gabbro dyke. The nearest drill tests along strike are 500 meter north and 200 meters south of the hole DDH OELV 290. The mineralization (0.15% U over 4.5 m, including 0.47% U over 1 m) in drill hole 290, together with radioactive zones in neighbouring holes, are located within a NNE trending zone of silicification in sandstone capped by a gabbro sill. The Evaluation Report OTISH MOUNTAI N PROPERTY page 2 • mineralized zone appears open and is untested by drilling to the NNE. The nearest test hole to the SSW is 400 meters away. Lac Tion. Uranium mineralization is indicated over a 2.5 km strike length by anomalous lake sediment samples and anomalous soil samples. Minimal drilling with two rows of short Winkie holes identified an altered dolerite dyke with anomalous uranium values (0.05% U over 0.8 m) as the possible cause. Alteration extends well into the siltstone and sandstone host rocks. Modern airborne electromagnetic systems, such as VTEM or MEGATEM, now are capable to locate conductive horizons in the Archean to depths of up to 700-1000 meters below surface. Such horizons are the preferred locales of uranium precipitation and hence unconformityassociated uranium deposits. Additional research of historic data and a reinterpretation of surface and airborne surveys have a high probability to lead to additional worthwhile exploration recommendations for the property. Exploration during subsequent phases is dependant on the results of the first phase. The estimated Budget for Phase 1 is $560,000 Evaluation Report OTISH MOUNTAI N PROPERTY page 3 Evaluation Report OTISH MOUNTAI N PROPERTY page 4 4.0 Introduction and Terms of Reference The author, an Independent Qualified Person for the purpose of this report, was retained by the XEMPLAR ENERGY CORP. to study technical documentation, to visit the OTISH MOUNTAIN PROPERTY, an uranium prospect located in Central Quebec, and to recommend an exploration program if warranted. During the period from October 4 to November 6, the author examined the relevant documentation available for the property, had discussions with Peter Bambic, a geologist and vendor of the property, Marc L’Heureux, geologist, who was involved in recent gold exploration in the area of the property and with P. Houle, Resident Geologist of the Quebec Ministry of Natural Resources in Chibougamau. The author visited the property on October 9, 2005. Considering the very large amount of data and interpretative reports available from Cogema/Soquem’s extensive exploration over the area of Blocks 2 and 3 of this property, no complete in depth review or reinterpretation of all data was possible during the preparation of this report. However the author has fully researched and documented the specific recommendations made in this report. Further study of the exploration files of Cogema/Soquem will with a high degree of probability, lead to additional recommendations for exploration. 5.0 Disclaimer This report is based on information from reports available in the public record with the Ministère de Resources Naturelles et Faune of Quebec, private reports and general geological reports and maps listed under the “23 References” section below. Almost all these reports were prepared before the implementation of NI 43-101 in 2001. Although many authors of such reports appear to be qualified and the information was prepared to standards acceptable to the exploration community at the time, the presentation of the data is often incomplete and does not fully meet present requirements and therefore the author is unable to ascertain the full quality of the information. The author does not take responsibility for the information provided from such sources. 6.0 Property Description and Location The OTISH MOUNTAIN PROPERTY is located in Central Quebec, 310 km northeast of the City of Chibougamau on NTS sheets 23D02/03/04 and 07 (between latitudes 52º and 52º21’ N and Latitudes: 70º 30’ and 72º W. The property consists of 1159 claims in three contiguous blocks. All claims are in good standing. The claims are listed in Appendix 1 attached to this report and their location illustrated on figures 1, 2 and 3. The surface area is 59,798 hectares (147,663 acres). All of the area of the mineral claims is unencumbered Crown Land with no existing liens, claims or restrictions of any sort with the exception of most of the claims of block 3 (see figure 2), that are within the confines of a reserved area (Reserve d’Etat; Projet d’aire protégée des Monts Otish). Mineral rights and all exploration activities are possible in this area however restrictions and obligations are attached. The main obligations are: that an environmental study has to be done before any ground work starts, prior notification is required if any work causing environmental disturbance is contemplated and that a plan of restoration has to be filed before activities start. Evaluation Report OTISH MOUNTAI N PROPERTY page 5 The claims are registered to either Peter Bambic or Laura Palumbo. Laura Palumbo, by letter agreement, has transferred all rights in the claims registered in her name to Peter Bambic. A portion of the claims (227 cells) were originally owned by Majescor Resources Inc and later sold, documented by an agreement dated May 2, 2005, to Everton Resources Inc. Part of the consideration was for Majescor to retain a 1% NSR Royalty, with a 0.5% portion buyable by Everton at any time by paying $500,000. In addition Majescor retains exclusive rights to explore for, mine and sell any diamonds from the property and Majescor also retains certain rights and needs to be notified when claims are to be abandoned from the group of 277 cells. In a simultaneous transaction Everton Resources Inc. exchanged, with Peter Bambic, all its rights in those 227 claims acquired from Majescor, for a large bock of claims (unrelated to this property) owned by Peter Bambic. Peter Bambic In turn, by a letter agreement dated September 28, 2005, sold a 100% undivided portion of his interest in the claims, listed in Appendix 1 (including the 227 obtained from Everton / Majescor mentioned before), to XEMPLAR ENERGY CORP., subject to TSX exchange approval and satisfactory due diligence and confirmation of title of the mineral claims comprising the property, for: 1. Issuing 3,000,000 shares of Xemplar Energy Corp. 2. A one time cash payment of $100,000 upon approval of the transaction by the TSX. 3. An additional one time cash payment of $200,000 within 5 business days of Xemplar completing a minimum $500,000 financing. Upon XEMPLAR ENERGY CORP. completing the transaction, the vendor (Peter Bambic) will retain a 2% NSR Royalty on all materials extracted from the property. One half (1%) of this 2% NSR royalty will be purchasable by XEMPLAR ENERGY CORP. at any time by paying the vendor $1,000,000. In addition a total of 227 cells are subject to an additional royalty and other rights in favour of Majescor as mentioned earlier. The claims with Majescor’s rights are annotated in the claim list in Appendix 1 of this report. This agreement has been submitted to the regulatory authorities in Vancouver, British Columbia. Since 2001, acquisition of new mineral rights in Quebec is solely possible by map staking via the internet through a portal maintained by Quebec’s Ministère de Resources Naturelles, Faune et Parcs (http://gestim.mrnfp.gouv.qc.ca). This same portal also allows verification of the status, location and registered ownership of all mineral rights in Quebec. All the claims of the Otish Mountain Property were acquired through map staking at various dates in 2004 or 2005 (see Appendix 1). The claims are all in good standing for a period of two years after the day of acceptance of the claim application. To maintain the claims for an additional two years a total of $ 132.00 worth of acceptable exploration work has to performed (or to be paid as cash in lieu of work) on each claim 60 days before its expiry date and this work has to reported to the Ministry within proscribed time limits. The author verified titles at the website cited above and inspected original copies of agreements/letters documenting the chain of ownership as described above. In the writers opinion this adequately establishes the title and ownership of the claims. Depending on the nature of the exploration work, Xemplar Energy Corp. might have to apply for specific permits and authorizations from the Ministere de Resources Naturelles, Faune et Parcs in order to carry out exploration work. Evaluation Report OTISH MOUNTAI N PROPERTY page 6 7.0 Accessibility, Climate, Local Resources, Infrastructure and Physiography The property is situated in the Otish Mountains; 320 km northeast of the town of Chibougamau, near the geographic centre of the Province of Quebec (see Figure 1). The nearest population centre is the Cree Village of Mistissini, 85 km by road north of Chibougamau. The nearest all weather road is the access road from Mistissini to the float plane base at Riviere Temiscamie, where a single Turbo-Otter plane is stationed and available for charter. The distance from Temiscamie to the westernmost claims of the property is 165 km. There is no permanent population or developed infrastructure in the area, with the exception of the now disused winter road from Riviere Temiscamie to The East Main Gold mine, which passes 30 km west of the property. The only economic activity in the area, apart from mineral exploration, is seasonal trapping and hunting by Cree villagers from Mistissini. The property can be reached by float plane or ski plane from Riviere Temiscamie or alternatively a helicopter can be chartered in Chibougamau. Personnel experienced in expediting, exploration surveys and camp construction is available in the village of Mistissini. The Town of Chibougamau, a mining town, is the regional population centre with many services and amenities for industrial, educational and leisure activities. The airport of Chibougamau-Chapais has daily scheduled flights to Montreal. The area has a continental climate typical for this latitude, characterised by long winters lasting from late October to late April and short, cool summers with temperatures up to 15 degrees Celsius. Lakes freeze over in late October and are usable again for float planes in early May. Most precipitation falls in the form of snow during the wintertime with accumulations of several meters considered normal. Total precipitation averages 80 cm. The property is situated on a rolling plateau covered by glacial drift with numerous lakes, outcrops are rare. The Otish Mountains, situated immediately northwest of the property rise to elevations of 1050 meters. Elevations on the property vary from 650 to 1000 m above sea level. The tree line is at about 950 m elevation. Vegetation consists of conifers spaced widely apart and rarely thicker than 30 cm in diameter. Ground cover is a dense matt of mosses, lichens and labrador tea. Above the tree line grasses and a few patches of low conifers occur. 8.0 Property History The Otish Mountains have a rich history of exploration for Uranium lasting from the late 60’s to 1985 followed by a much smaller exploration effort for gold circa 1999. Diamond exploration in the general area, kindled by the discovery, 80 km northwest of Xemplar’s properties, of the Renard kimberlites by Ashton Diamonds/Soquem, culminated with a staking rush in early 2002 and is still strong today but it only touched the westernmost reaches of the area explored for Uranium. In mid 2005 renewed interest in exploration for Uranium has seen Cameco, Uranor Inc, Strateco Resources, Golden Valley Mines Ltd and others, including Xemplar Energy Corp., acquire large land positions and initiating considerable exploration efforts over the old uranium exploration lands. The main participants in the earlier uranium exploration of the Otish Mountains were: SDBJ (Soc. de Developpement de la Baie James later succeeded by Soquem), Uranerz, Phelps Dodge, Pancontinental-Cominco, Atlantic Richfield, Shell Oil, Seru Nucleaire (successor Cogema Evaluation Report OTISH MOUNTAI N PROPERTY page 7 Evaluation Report OTISH MOUNTAI N PROPERTY page 8 Canada Ltee), Eldorado Nucleaire, Inco Ltd., Placer- Dome and Noranda Inc. Initial interest in the area was sparked by reports of uranium mineralization in the Mistassini Area to the southwest of the Otish Basin. The first work consisted mainly of airborne radiometric and magnetic surveys with follow-up of prospecting and soil sampling and lead to the discovery of many uranium showings both in the Proterozoic sediments and the underlying Archean rocks. The first record of exploration in the area now covered by the OTISH MOUNTAIN PROPERTY is an airborne electromagnetic survey flown by Rio Tinto in 1957. Uranium exploration started in 1968. From 1968 to 1979, the main companies active in the area of the claims were Soquem, Hudson Bay Oil and Gas Ltd, Atlantic Richfield and Uranerz. All these companies completed airborne radiometric and aeromagnetic surveys followed by prospecting, ground radiometric surveys, soil sampling and rock sampling. This lead to the discovery of many uranium showings, including the G-zone, Lorenz Gully and Marc Andre showings which are all located in the immediate vicinity of Xemplar’s present mineral claims. During this area there appears to be no record of any drilling on the present Xemplar lands. All these efforts were dwarfed by the amount of exploration work done in the area of the Xemplar’s property by the SDBJ/Seru Nucleaire (Canada) Ltee, a 50/50 joint venture, from 1979 to 1985. Seru later became Cogema (Canada) Ltee and the SDBJ portion was taken by SOQUEM. Cogema was the operator. During six years of exploration, the joint venture had claims covering over 1500 km2 including most of map sheet NTS 23D03 and large portions of adjacent sheets 23D02, 23D07 and 23D04. Both Block 2 and 3 of Xemplar’s OTISH MOUNTAIN PROPERTY are entirely within the former Cogema lands. Cogema’s in-house company reports, including raw data sets, were filed with the Ministere de Resources Naturelles and are publicly available. It is estimated by the author that total exploration expenditures by the JV exceeded C$ 15,000,000 (historic dollars) including nearly 37,000 meter of drilling in at least 334 holes. Cogema’s exploration work is illustrated in summary form on figure 4. Initially reconnaissance 2 over a 12000-km area in 1979-80, resulted in the discovery of the G and S uranium showings and mineralized float of the L uranium zone. The G showing is located in sandstones of the Otish Basin and the S showing in a gabbro (diabase) dyke cutting the Otish Basin sediments. This lead to the staking of large bocks of claims centred on these showings. By 1981 claims covered 1260 km2. Surveys in 1979-81 consisted of regional airborne (both fixed wing and helicopter supported) radiometric, electromagnetic and magnetic surveys and a systematic stream sediment and lake sediment survey at a density of 1 sample /km2 over a 1500 km2 area. The area was also prospected and mapped. The lake sediments showed that the general area of the S, L zones was anomalous in uranium. Drilling with a light Winkie drill commenced in 1981 at the S and G showings and at the head of the mineralized boulder train at L zone. Drilling at the L zone was the most encouraging; significant mineralization was intersected in altered gabbros and sediments at the contact of a gabbro dyke with sandstones and dolomite. This success leads in 1982-83 to systematic diamond drilling, first at the G-zone and S zone but mainly at the L zone. Success at the L zone leads then to detailed drilling on 50 meter spaced sections. Mineralization was found at the L-zone over a length of 1.7 km. The easternmost, 600 m proved to be a continuous body of uranium mineralization. Cogema did systematic calculations of the amount of mineralization (see further under Geology) and concluded that the amount of mineralization was insufficient for immediate development. Cogema staff also developed a model of the mineralization at the L zone. This model put great significance on the coincidence of Gabbro dykes intersections with a specific stratigraphic level; the contact between dolomite of the lower Peribonca formation with the underlying sandstones of the Indicateur Formation. This knowledge and the necessity to find more mineralization was the basis for a systematic exploration campaign to identify all areas on the property where an L-target was within reach of drilling. Cogema put in grids over an area reaching from 3 km southwest of the L zone to 9 km 2) 2 northeast of the L zone (35 km and further to the northeast over an area of 12 by 3 km (36 km ). Grids were systematically soil sampled, prospected, mapped and covered with ground magnetic at and VLF-R surveys. Holes were also drilled to give geological information. All this detailed Evaluation Report OTISH MOUNTAI N PROPERTY page 9 information resulted in a detailed picture and accurate location of areas with potential for L-type mineralization. Cogema then drilled systematic fences of holes spaced 500 meters apart on the grids to test for mineralization within 150 m of surface. By the end of the 1984 season, 2 new areas had indications of L-type mineralization. This were holes OELU-299 (0.17% U over 1.0 m) and hole OELV -290 (0.15% U over 4.5 m, including 0.47% U over 1 m). Both holes are now within Xemplar’s lands. Besides exploring the area “on strike” southwest and northeast of the L-zone, Cogema also pursued exploration south of the S showing in an area with stratigraphy equally favourable for Ltype mineralization. As around the L –zone, systematic gridding, surveying and drilling was done in 1983-1984 over an area measuring 19 km2, however little of interest was found outside of the S showing. Several other areas where also explored. The most significant discovery was at Lac Tion where a dispersion train of uranium mineralization was discovered, with individual assays in float as high as 4% U. Cogema did not further follow up because the Lac Tion mineralization did not fit their favourite L-zone model. The Lac Tion zone is entirely within the eastern portion of Block 3 of Xemplar’s OTISH MOUNTAIN PROPERTY. By late 1984 SDBJ, the joint venture partner, became reluctant to further contribute to the exploration effort, so the 1985 program was much reduced from initial plans. No further work was done by Cogema after the 1985 season and the JV today only retains claims over the immediate area of the L-zone. After 1985 Cogema focused their exploration efforts on their new Cigar Lake uranium discovery in the Upper Proterozoic Athabasca Basin of northern Saskatchewan. In 1999, exploration was done by Boreale Explorations Inc. for gold mainly in the area of the S showing (Girard, 1999 and Milord, 2000) – the area of the western portion of Block 1 of Xemplar’s property. This work consisted of extensive resampling of drill cores and old trenches. Results of this sampling were considered negative and no further work was recommended. Block 1 of Xemplar’s OTISH MOUNTAIN PROPERTY was never explored by Cogema. The main exploration was done by Uranerz Exploration and Mining Ltd with also some work on record by the Pancontinental-Cominco joint venture. The area of block 1 was subjected to airborne radiometric and magnetic surveys followed by prospecting. This successfully located the Lorenz Gully showing which is located just north of Block 1 (see 9-3 –Alteration and Mineralization). Uranerz drilled 35 holes in 1978-79. None of these holes is on Xemplar’s property. 9.0 Geological Setting 9.1 Regional Geological Setting The principal reference for the area geology of OTIS MOUNTAIN PROPERTY is the 1:250,000-scale Lac Nacocane Map sheet 23D and adjacent sheets 32P, 22M and 33A (Avamtchev,L., 1982), mapping by E Chown on a 1/63,630 scale and a paper on the stratigraphy of the Mistassini-Otish Basin by E. Chown (Chown E, 1971 and Chown E, Caty, J., 1973). The property is situated in the Superior Province of the Canadian Shield a few tens of kilometres northwest of the Grenville metamorphic front, which marks the north-easterly trending boundary between the Superior and Grenville Provinces. The property itself (see figure 5) is underlain by late Proterozoic sedimentary rocks of the Otish Basin that rest unconformably on the Achaean age rocks of the Superior province. The rocks of the Superior basement immediately to the northwest consist mainly of Evaluation Report OTISH MOUNTAI N PROPERTY page 10 Evaluation Report OTISH MOUNTAI N PROPERTY page 11 paragneiss and migmatite with monzonite and tonalite intrusive bodies and a few belts of metavolcanic rocks. One such belt of metavolcanic rocks, oriented northwest to southeast, trends underneath the Otish basin rocks immediately to the west of Block 1 of Xemplar’s Otish Mountain Property. This belt is composed of basic and acid tuffs, volcanic flows and pyroclastic rocks with interbedded sandstone, conglomerate and iron formation and chlorite schists. Another similar belt, trending east-west and 30km long, is located along the south-western edge of the Otish Basin. In this area, Cameco recently acquired mineral rights to the Otish Mountain Basin adjacent to the metavolcanic belt. An unconformity separates the Achaean Rocks from the lower Proterozoic sediments of the Otish Basin. Strata of the Otish basin outcrop over a north-easterly oriented area of 180 by 30 km. The Basin is part of a chain of basins of similar age that are situated along the eastern edge of the Achaean Craton. It includes the Papaskwasati and Mistassini Basins to the southwest and the Seward Group in the Labrador Through. The lithologies of the Otish, Papaskwasati and Mistassini basins, separated by an erosional window of 30 km, are quite similar. Both Archean and Proterozoic rocks are cut by numerous diabase dykes. These dykes have been dated at 1730+/- 30 My (Bernier and Moorehead, 2000). 9.2 Area and Property Geology Apart from the work of Chown referred to above, this section draws on the detailed geological work of many Cogema geologists, the principal references being; Lavoie, S., 1980 and Bisson, Y & others, 1983. In addition to these references, geological information and interpretations are present in all Cogema reports. The geology of the Otish basin is illustrated on Figure 5. A more detailed geological map of the central part of the Basin (now Block 2 and 3 of Xemplar’s property) is reproduced on Figure 6 (in pocket). It is the result of geological work by Cogema staff in 19834. The Otish Group sediments are subdivided in two Formations; the Indicateur Formation at the bottom and the Peribonca Formation on top. The Indicateur formation rests unconformably on the Archean basement and is composed of conglomerates and sandstones of fluvial origin. The thickness estimated by Chown is from 340 m in the northeastern end of the Basin to at least 750 m in the western end of the Basin. A vertical drill hole by Cogema near the G showing in the central part of the basin, 4 km from its southern boundary, intersected 760 m of Indicateur Formation (Hole OBG-30-Solari, A. & Chainey, D. 1983). The basal conglomerate is polymictic in the central portion of the Basin and composed of granitic and basic volcanic pebbles. At least two sequences of conglomerate thinning to sandstones/arkose are present. Cogema geologists distinguished a green facies (350 m thick) at the bottom overlain by an oxidized facies near the top (also 350 m thick). It has been interpreted that the green facies has a provenance from the south-southwest and was laid down in deep water. The oxidized facies is thought to have formed in shallow water. The sandstones are mainly composed of quartz and feldspar grains. Feldspar grains exhibit extensive diagenitic alteration to kaolin and sericite. The Peribonca Formation conformably overlies the Indicateur Formation. The top is eroded so original thickness cannot be estimated. This formation is well represented in the central and northeastern part of the Basin, the area of Block 3 of Xemplar’s property. In the central portion of the Basin maximum preserved thickness is estimated to be 800 to 1000 m. Cogema did much detailed work on the stratigraphy of the Peribonca/Indicateur boundary because this is the locale of the L-zone uranium mineralization. This detailed work made them adopt a 10-20 meter thick stratum of dolomite/dolomitic sandstone overlain by purplish siltstones as the boundary between the two formations. At the same stratigraphic level Cogema recognized a meter wide horizon of acid ash tuff at the base of the dolomite that is thought to be an Otish-Basin wide marker horizon for the lower Peribonca/Indicateur boundary. Generally the Peribonca-age strata have a reddish tint and are composed of at least three cycles of sedimentation (conglomerate/sandstone). The Peribonca is believed to be in large part continental in origin. Evaluation Report OTISH MOUNTAI N PROPERTY page 12 Numerous Diabase (Gabbro) dykes intrude the Otish Basin sediments. Cogema’s work clearly showed that these dykes were injected along fault zones with the south block faulted down. Diabase dykes branch into sills especially along dolomite strata in the Peribonca formation at the Peribonca/Indicateur boundary. Diabase dykes are medium to coarse grained with an aphanitic border phase. Propylitic alteration to epidote/chlorite is almost universal, throughout the dykes. “Zebra” textured gabbro - gabbro with sub parallel calcite veins and chlorite - is common in the contact zone with sediments. This alteration is the result of sodium metasomatism with the addition of albite. Borders of the dykes are often tectonized. Within the Otish basin only one mention is made of potential mantle derived intrusions; at the Matoush uranium showing, in the western portion of the basin, a peralkaline dyke (lamprophyre) occupies a north south directed fault (Dahl, 2002). The main impediment to geological understanding of the Otish is the almost complete lack of outcrop. Glacial till covers most of the land and often the only outcrops are the more erosionally resistive gabbro dykes. Cogema’s work proved that a combination of VLF-R and magnetic ground surveys could discriminate between Indicator Formation (high resistivity - 5000 ohm m and low magnetic response) siltstone/dolomite of the Peribonca Formation (lower resistivity – 500 ohm m, low magnetic response) and gabbro dykes (high magnetic response). This permitted Cogema to put together a detailed geological picture over the large covered areas of their property. In general bedding in the Otish basin is sub horizontal. Exceptions are; the borders of gabbro dykes-faults and the southeastern section of the basin that has been affected by the reverse thrust faults of the Grenville Front. Overall the Basin forms a synclinorium along an eastnortheasterly axis. A detailed structural analysis of the basin was done in 1980 by Cogema geologists (Lavoie, S., 1980). Two structural domains are distinguished within the Otish Basin caused by the northwesterly directed thrust of the Grenville Province from the south. A northwesterly portion (including Block 1) forms a southeasterly dipping monoclinal sequence and the south eastern section (including blocks 2 and 3) being a moderately folded domain with a northeasterly trending fold axis. Related faults trend N20-40º E with the east block down and little lateral movement. Gabbro dykes occupy faults that predate this Grenville deformation. Gabbro dykes principally trend N45ºE and N70ºE. 9.3 Alteration and Mineralization Uranium mineralization is the principal mineralization of potential economic interest within the Otish Basin. Uranium mineralization in the Basin was first reviewed by Chown (Chown 1984). Chown considered U-Th-mineralization in the basal quartz pebble conglomerates of the Otish to be of syngenetic origin. These showings show abundant detrital monazite. Most of these showings have proven to be richer in thorium than uranium hence are of little economic interest. The majority of the Uranium showings however exhibit pitchblende in fractures and are of epigenetic origin. Mineralization appears controlled by faults. Chown considered that local physico-chemical changes in the fault and fracture zones were the final controls for the location of uranium mineralization. Exploration in the seventies and early eighties was mainly aimed at finding unconformity-type uranium deposits; hence most exploration was done at the edges of the basin. The main exception was the Seru/SDBJ (later Cogema/Soquem) joint venture program. They explored the central part of the basin for epigenetic style mineralization similar to the L-zone. The principal known sites of uranium mineralization within the Otish Basin are from west to east: the Matoush showing, the Lorenz Gully showing, the L-zone and the S showing. The first two were explored by Uranerz from 1978 to 1984; the last two were extensively explored for by the Evaluation Report OTISH MOUNTAI N PROPERTY page 13 Cogema/Soquem joint venture from 1981 to 1985. Other uranium showings in or near Xemplar’s property are; the G showing, Lac Tion and intercepts of Uranium in drill holes OBLV 290 and OBLU-229, all explored by Cogema/Soquem. On the large 1500 km2 former Cogema claims (which include blocks 2 and 3 of Xemplar’s OTISH MOUNTAIN PROPERTY) results from an detailed area-wide lake sediment survey clearly indicate that that anomalous uranium is principally correlated with gabbro dykes ( see Figures 6 and 7 attached to this report). The Matoush showing is described in Uranerz reports (Jenkins 1984). It is situated in the southwestern portion of the Otish Basin (see figure 5). Mineralization occurs in a steep, easterly dipping, north-south oriented fault, within coarse sandstones and conglomerates of the Indicateur Formation. The fault is in part occupied by a meter thick ultramafic intrusion (lamprophyre?). Drilling has traced the fault over 1000 m along strike and to depth of 200m below surface. Geophysical surveys indicate that the fault extends at least 3 km further to the south. Drilling indicates low grade U mineralization throughout the fault zone with some high grade in hole AM15; 20.4% U3O8 over 0.5m. The mineralization consists of pitchblende. Symmetrical alteration zones are centered on the fault. An inner zone of tourmalinization (approximately 4 m out from the fault) is surrounded by a zone with chlorite, muscovite and fuchsite ( approx 10m out from the fault) that grades into an outer zone with limonite and hematite reaching up to 15 meters outwards of the fault. The zone is presently owned by Ditem Explorations Inc. Strateco Resources Inc., on May 30, 2005 (www.stratecoinc.com) announced an option agreement to earn an interest in the Matoush property. The Lorenz Gully showing is located just north of Block 1 of Xemplar’s Otish Mountain Property (see Fig 5). This showing was explored extensively by Uranerz in 1978/79 (Jenkins 1978). The discovery of mineralized boulders was followed by drilling of 38 holes. Several thin zones of Uranium mineralization (pitchblende) were found Best values were 0.35% U3O8 over 0.52m in hole LG-34. The mineralization is associated with a steep fault zone with a N30W orientation. The mineralization is within barite/calcite veins in tightly folded Archean basic metavolcanic rocks near their contact with felsic metavolcanic rocks and is overlain by a thin layer of Indicateur sandstones. The top 30 meters of the Archean rocks show paleoweathering. The largest known mineralized zone in the Basin is the L-zone, located in a 3.5 by 2.5 km sized enclave (15 claims see Fig 2, 3, 5) in the middle of Block 3 of Xemplar’s property and jointly owned by Cogema and Soquem. These holdings are what remain of the very large claim block Cogema/Soquem held during the early eighties. It was drilled by Cogema from 1980 to 1983. The mineralization occurs over 1700 m of strike length and to a depth of no more than 110 m below surface. It is continuous only over the easternmost 600 meters. Cogema spend the lion share of its large exploration effort from 1982 to 1985 to first delineate the L mineralization, then research and develop a model for the mineralization and finally map the surrounding land to define and drill targets. The Cogema model for L-style mineralization is illustrated on figure 7 below. As described by Caillat, 1984, the mineralization is associated with a N70˚E striking, sub-vertical Gabbro dyke that was emplaced along a fault zone with the southern block dropped at least 150 meters. The gabbro dyke formed sill-like protrusions at the level of the 10-20m wide dolomite beds that constitute the boundary of the Peribonca and Indicateur Formations. This resulted in strong deformation within the carbonate beds near the gabbro contact. Uranium mineralization appears to have pooled below the carbonates in sandstones and in the gabbro. Following this model the aim of Cogema’s exploration was to find and test all locales where gabbro intrusions were present at the Indicateur/Peribonca boundary. Alteration in the gabbro dykes directly related to uranium mineralization is distinct from the universal propylitic alteration and the alteration associated with the “zebra” texture mentioned in the geology section above. Mineralized zones are pervasively altered, are brecciated and bleached to a grey color. Alteration minerals are albite, carbonate, quartz and sericite. Elements associated with the uranium mineralization are Bi, Au, Ag, Cu, Pb, Se, Te. About half of the Evaluation Report OTISH MOUNTAI N PROPERTY page 14 mineralization at the L zone is hosted by sandstones of the Indicateur Formation. In contrast to the alteration in the gabbro dykes, no synthesis is available in the Cogema reports of the alteration associated with uranium mineralization in the sediments. Most often observed are clay alteration, sericitization and silicification. It is unclear from the record how this is distinguishable from diagenetic alteration of the sandstones. Calculations were done by Seru Nucleaire (Predecessor of Cogema) based on 33 drill holes on sections spaced 50 meters apart (Caillat, C. & others,1983) over a strike length of 612 meters. Thickness of the mineralized intercepts utilized in the calculations varied from 0.2 to 6.9 m. This calculation resulted in the definition of 385,000 tonnes (cutoff of 0.1% U) grading 0.595% U, 0.5 g/t Au and containing 2,027 tonnes of Uranium. These numbers are historic in-house calculations that have not been verified by the author, do not conform to the present requirements of NI 43101 regarding resource and reserve definition and cannot be considered resources or reserves in any way. Age determinations of the mineralization done by Cogema (U/Pb) gave 1711 ±2 ma, an age only a little bit later than the age of 1730 ± 10 m.a. (Sm-Nd) obtained by Cogema from fresh gabbro samples (Bisson, Y. & others 1983). The S showing is located in two cells owned by other parties, enclosed in the western part of Xemplar’s Block 3. The immediate area was extensively explored by the Cogema/SDBJ joint venture from 1980 to 1984. The general area was subjected to airborne radiometric and magnetic surveys and lake and stream sediment sampling surveys. The area was also gridded and subjected to detailed magnetic and VLF-R surveys and extensively prospected and soil sampled. In addition the showings were explored with; hand trenching, short Winkie drill holes and deeper holes in 1981-84 (approximately 60 holes in this property). The main drill targets were potential extensions of surface mineralization in gabbro. Results of the drilling were considered negative by Cogema; uranium mineralization was found to be thin and discontinuous and too low in the Evaluation Report OTISH MOUNTAI N PROPERTY page 15 stratigraphy to be their favourite target: L-style uranium mineralization. Uranium mineralization at the S showing is within a fractured and altered gabbro dyke. Mineralization is mostly pitchblende and occurs associated with thin carbonate veins and stringers accompanied by silicification and a few percent of sulphides and within chloritized and bleached gabbro. The highest grade sample on record is from a selected sample of gabbro; 0.233% U (Lavoie 1980). Besides uranium, anomalous values of gold, copper, lead, zinc, silver and tellurium are reported. After Cogema the area was staked and explored in 1999 by Boreale Exploration Inc. for its gold potential. Their work, which consisted of resampling old Cogema drill cores and resampling of old trenches found gold mineralization to be present at the S showing and in some of the old drill cores of the S area. Best results reported by Girard were 0.5 g/t over 1.09 m, in a drill hole (OELS-302) at 3 m below trench 3 (Girard 1999). Selected samples of thin carbonate veins of the S showing gave values up to 13.63 g/t Au (Milord 2000). Hole OBELU 229 was drilled in 1983 by Cogema (Caillat, C., 1983 - Raynal, M., 1984) on the 2A-46 Grid, 12 km northeast of the L-zone and within Block 3 of Xemplar’s OTISH MOUNTAIN PROPERTY (see Fig 3,4). The drill hole intersected 0.17% U over 0.8 m near the contact of a gabbro dyke with sandstones of the Indicateur Formation (see figure 9 below). As illustrated below several other holes were drilled in the section and although increased radioactivity is noted at the south gabbro/sediment contact, no assays are provided in the record. To the north the nearest section with drill holes is 500 meters away. In 1984 (two holes -251-252 were drilled on a section 200 meters to the south. The holes only intersected the northern gabbro/sediment contact and increased radioactivity was noted but no assays were reported. The southern contact of the gabbro was not intersected. Hole OELV 290 was drilled by Cogema in 1984 on the “Castor” grid 6 km northeast of the L-zone (see Fig 3, 6) (reports: Berube J. 1984 & Caillat, 1984)). The hole is illustrated on plan in Figure 10 below. The hole intersected 4.5 m grading 0.15% U over 4.5 m (from 72.1-77.6m), including Evaluation Report OTISH MOUNTAI N PROPERTY page 16 0.47% U over 1 meter. The highest assay was 0.59% U over 0.5 m. The mineralization occurs in very altered/silicified sandstones belonging to the uppermost strata of the Indicateur Formation. This hole was part of a program of systematic drilling for L-style targets on 400m spaced sections with holes spaced 150 m apart along section. Following the favourable results, two more holes (296,297) were drilled 40 meters either side of OELV-290. These holes registered high radioactivity at the level of the mineralization in OELV-290. They were judged to be of lower grade and therefore apparently not assayed. The drilling showed a flat lying sill of Gabbro intruding in the upper reaches of the Indicateur formation. This picture did not strictly conform to the “L” model. That would have called for mineralization to occur slightly higher in the stratigraphy and in a different geometric position; pooled under a bed of dolomite on the contact with a gabbro body. No further holes were drilled in this area by Cogema in 1984 or 1985. Significant silicification is reported in the holes surrounding the mineralization. This silicification and the high radioactivity clearly trend to NNE. The projection of this the mineralization trend was not tested by any of the three holes (292, 293, 294) drilled on section 1000N. Lac Tion is located in the eastern portion of Xemplar’s Block 3 [see fig 11]. Mineralized float, grading as high as 4% U in small samples, was found in 1982 by prospectors following up on a uranium lake sediment anomaly. Cogema gridded a 2.5 km by 4 km area around the discovery and did detailed mapping, soil sampling VLF-Resistivity and magnetic surveys. Deep holes drilled in 1984 were unsuccessful in finding the source. However in 1985, short Winkie holes located a north-easterly trending, 10 meter wide, dolerite dyke occupying a fault. The south contact zone is radioactive, one sample analysed registered 0.05% U over 0.8 m. Alteration minerals consists of chlorite, clay, barite and the host rock is sheared and mylonitized. The host rocks are siltstones and sandstones of the Peribonca Formation with beds of carbonate cemented breccias. Results from the detailed soil sampling and regional lake sediment sampling indicate that uranium occurs along a north-easterly trend over a 2.5 km strike length, the same direction as the dolerite dyke. Cogema (Caillat 1984) did not further follow up because the Lac Evaluation Report OTISH MOUNTAI N PROPERTY page 17 Tion mineralization, being too high in the stratigraphic column, did not fit their favourite L-zone model. The “G” showing (Lavoie 1981 and Solari e.a. 1983) consist of four separate occurrences of uranium mineralization in erratics. At least one of the showings (A-44) is located on claims owned by Golden Valley Mines Ltd. The remainder are located in block 2 of Xemplar’s lands. Cogema explored this area extensively in 1980-82. The host rocks are coarse arkoses, quartzite and sandstones of the upper portions of the Indicateur Formation. Grades in selected float samples varied from 0.105% U to 1.89% U. Much lower values of U, but still considered anomalous were encountered in outcrops. Uranium minerals are secondary phosphates identified as sabugalite. Cogema did regional geology, regional lake sediment surveys, airborne radiometric surveys, prospecting and gridding with detailed geology, magnetic surveys and soil sampling. Drilling was done in 1982; both short Winkie holes and longer wide diameter drill holes. No mineralization was intersected. These poor results and the realization by 1982 that the L-style mineralization is much higher in the stratigraphy than the G showings area made Cogema cease all exploration in this area. Evaluation Report OTISH MOUNTAI N PROPERTY page 18 10.0 Deposit Types No economic mineral deposits have been defined on the property to date. In the past Cogema explored the central portion of the Otish Basin for epigenetic, fault controlled uranium mineralization and developed their in-house “L” style model of mineralization as described elsewhere in this report. This model, or more generally, epigenetic zones of U-mineralization associated with diabase dykes/faults is still considered a valid model to guide exploration on Xemplar’s OTISH MOUNTAIN PROPERTY. Most other companies (Uranerz, Pancontinental, Atlantic Richfield and others) exploring in the Otish during the seventies and eighties aimed for unconformity-associated uranium deposits and consequently did most of their exploration near the edges of the Otish Basin. Although no clear example of such a deposit was found, advances in airborne electromagnetic surveys and a better understanding and documentation of alteration associated with unconformity-related uranium make this model again a valid framework for exploring the Otish Basin. Unconformity-associated uranium deposits are best known from the middle Proterozoic Athabasca Basin in Saskatchewan and Alberta and also from Australia’s Northern Territory and from the Thelon sedimentary basin in the Northwest Territories. It includes the important MacArthur River (431 million lb U3O8), Cigar Lake (231 million lb U3O8) and Midwest Lake (35 million lb U3O8) uranium deposits (Uranium contained in reserves, figures by Cameco Corporation,- current at 31 Dec., 2004 as cited at www.cameco.com). Their main characteristics can be summarized as follows (MacMillan R. 1997): Uranium Minerals; Pitchblende and coffinite occur as fracture or as breccia fillings. Deposit Form; generally one -dimensional - prismatic or tabular shaped. The deposit is situated near the unconformity and does not extend far into the underlying Archean rocks. Tectonic setting/Age : Intracratonic sedimentary basins of Mid -Proterozoic or younger age. Geological setting/Host rocks: Porous zones structurally prepared within chemically reactive (reduced) strata. Host rocks include proterozoic amphibolite facies metamorphic rocks and overlying sandstones or quartz rich sandstones with dykes and sills of diabase or lamprophyres. This can include graphitic or sulphide rich horizons in Archean metavolcanic rocks. Deposits are formed near the unconformity where oxidizing fluids circulating in the sandstone and carrying uranium from the weathered top of Archean basement interface with reducing fluids ascending along structures from the basement or even the mantle. Alteration: Alteration minerals are chlorite, kaolin, hematite, illite, dickite and silica and low amounts of pitchblende. Alteration plumes extend many hundreds of meters upwards above the deposits in the host rocks. The alteration minerals can be identified in glacial drift at surface. In Saskatchewan the signature includes; low U, dravite (a boron compound), illite and chlorite. Exploration Parameters/Methods. Graphitic or sulphidic horizons can now be detected with new airborne EM systems such as VTEM and MEGATEM to depths up to 700-1000 m compared with depths of typically 100 meters during the seventies and early eighties. Analytical technology, such as PIMA instruments, makes identification of clay minerals possible in field surveys. Airborne gravimetric surveys, available since 1999, allow for structural interpretations. The Otish Basin, like the Athabasca Basin, is a proterzoic basin filled with terriginous sandstones and fits many of the characteristics for unconformity-associated uranium deposits cited above. Some of the differences are; slightly younger age of the sediments and less well known patterns of alteration and although numerous uranium showings have been found in the past no clear example of a unconformity style deposit has been discovered to date. Resistivity values of the Evaluation Report OTISH MOUNTAI N PROPERTY page 19 Indicateur Formation, as seen in the many geophysical surface surveys done by Cogema, exceed 5000 ohm m. This is high enough to allow for optimal depth penetration of airborne EM surveys. Resistivity of the overlying Peribonca formation is much lower, typically 500 ohm m. This would limit penetration of Airborne EM surveys over areas underlain by Peribonca–age sediments. Block 3 of Xemplar’s OTISH MOUNTAIN PROPERTY is located along the north-western rim of the Otish Basin. In that area the Otish Basin/Archean unconformity is located under a gradually southeast dipping monoclinal sequence of Indicateur Formation sandstones. At Block 3, the Archean sequence dipping under the Otish sediments includes a metavolcanic greenstone belt with a high probability of harbouring sulphide or graphite rich sequences. The southern and eastern portions of Bock 2 and 3 equally are underlain by Otish sediments thinner than the 700 meter thickness barrier imposed by the penetration limits of today’s airborne EM technology. 11.0 Mineralization Mineralization known at the OTIS MOUNTAIN PROPERTY is described under section 9 c together with descriptions of showings in the surrounding area. 12.0 Exploration Program No exploration programs were performed by or on behalf of XEMPLAR ENERGY CORP. on this property. Past exploration campaigns are described in the previous sections of this report and are summarized on figure 4. 13.0 Drilling No drilling has been done on the property for XEMPLAR ENERGY CORP. Historically diamond drilling was done from surface by Cogema (Canada) Ltee from 1981 to 1985. The areas drilled are illustrated on figure 4 and results are discussed under section 9-3 Alteration and Mineralization. 14.0 Sampling Method and Approach No samples were taken by XEMPLAR ENERGY CORP. on the property. Historic sampling includes: stream sediment sampling, lake sediment sampling, soil sampling, rock sampling and chip sampling of outcrops and sampling of drill cores. This sampling was done prior to the presently prevailing standards stipulated by NI 43-101. Reports give incomplete descriptions of sampling methods and approach. It appears that sampling methods were supervised by geologists. As far as can be traced these individuals were geoscientist with adequate training and competently completed the tasks to the industry standards prevailing at the time of the campaign. 15.0 Sample Preparation, Analysis and Security Evaluation Report OTISH MOUNTAI N PROPERTY page 20 Little documentation is available in the historic reports about sample processing, analytical procedures and security measures. 16.0 Data Verification This report relies on historic data and little documentation is available about past practices of data verification. No pulps samples remain available. Drill cores from the 1981-85 campaigns by Cogema are stored in the area at Lac Gustave, the site of Cogema’s main camp from 1979 to 1985. This site is now within the boundaries of the Projet de parc des Monts Otish. Cogema relied on spectrometer readings to estimate the uranium content of drill cores. Only when high readings were obtained were assays performed. 17.0 Adjacent Properties All Adjacent properties are identified on Figures 2 and 3 attached to this report. There are a total of 9 properties that have common boundaries with the OTIS MOUNTAIN PROPERTY. • Golden Valley Mines Ltd This Company owns a long, narrow block of claims that borders on both Blocks 2 and 3 of Xemplar’s lands. In addition 4 smaller blocks of claims are situated within Block 2 of Xemplar. The large property follows the southwest to northeast boundary of the Otish Basin sediments with the underlying Archean rocks. The small claim blocks hosts at least one of the “G” uranium showings (A 44) that were discovered by Cogema in 1979 and extensively explored into 1982. The G showing is described in section 9.3 Alteration and Mineralization above. Golden Valley has not registered any work on the property and apart form a News release (Golden Valley 2005) by Golden Valley Mines announcing the staking, there is no other information about this property in the public record. • Majescor Resources Inc. This property is located southeast of Xemplar’s Block 1. It was acquired by Majescor Resources Inc. between October 2001 and May 2003 for its diamond potential. It is called the Laparre Project. In late 2003, Dunsmuir Ventures Ltd., a public Company, entered into a joint venture agreement with Majescor for a 50% interest in the property. Majescor completed heavy mineral sampling over the area of the property prior to Dunsmuir and positive results were obtained. Consequently a detailed airborne magnetic survey was completed with Dunsmuir and 14 potential kimberlite targets were identified. No information about further work is in the public record (info from www.dunsmuirventures.com). • Ashton Diamonds (Canada) Ltd./Diaquem Inc. The two companies are 50/50 joint venture partners on a large block of land immediately to the east of Block 1. and adjacent and intertwined with the Majescor Lands discussed above. No specific information about this land is available. The property was staked at the same time as the adjacent Majescor property and presumably for the same reason; positive results from reconnaissance heavy mineral sampling indicating potential for diamonds. No specific information on the claims is in the public record. • Yacoub Faiz is the registered owner of two cells surrounded by Xemplar’s Block 3. No work has been recorded by him. The two cells cover the outcrops of the S uranium/gold showing. This immediate area was extensively explored by the Cogema/SDBJ joint venture from 1980 to 1984. The S showing is described elsewhere in this report in section 9.3-Alteration and mineralization. Evaluation Report OTISH MOUNTAI N PROPERTY page 21 18.0 • J. Hansen is the registered owner of two claim blocks bordering the north side of Xemplar’s Block1. There is no record of recent work by the owner. The two blocks surround the area of the Lorenz Gully uranium showing. The area of the showing itself is marked as “claims under application” on the Gestim Claim maps. The showing is described under section 9.3 – Area Alteration and Mineralization- of this report. • J. McPherson is the registered owner of a 39 cells located along the southern boundary of Block 3 of Xemplar’s property. The claimblock is a few km east of the Lzone owned by Cogema/Soquem. The claims were acquired in September 2005 and no work has been recorded. The area of the claims is outside the detailed grids surveyed by Cogema. • Cogema (Canada) Ltee/Soquem: Cogema in a 50/50 joint venture with Soquem is the owner of 15 cells located within the central part of Block 3 (Fig 2 and 3) of Xemplar’s claims. The holding covers the extend of the “L” zone of uranium mineralization found by the Seru Nucleaire/SDBJ joint venture (predecessor companies of Cogema and Soquem) and described in other parts of this report. • Otish Resources Inc. has a holding of 8 cells situated along the southern portion of Bock 1 and is in part surrounded by Block 1. The claims were acquired in 2002. At that time Otish resources was conducting a heavy mineral sampling program in the area targeting diamonds. The claims are the remainder of a larger block and cover the main area of the Marc-Andre Uranium Showing. This showing is found at the contact of a gabbro dyke in Indicateur sandstone. Alteration described is hematization, silicification with visible epidote, tourmaline and limonite. A selected sample is reported to contain 0.26% U3O8 (Ford 2004). The area of the showing was explored by Uranerz Exploration and Mining Ltd until 1983 and no drilling was reported. It is not known what plans Otish Resources might have for further exploration. • Diadem Exploration Inc. has many small claim blocks in the general area. One of these is located at one of the north corners of Block 2. The claims, staked in 2002, are the remainder of a larger claim block and had work recorded, however no specific data are available about the work on these particular claims. In a press release, Diadem (Diadem 2004) reported that a very large number of claim blocks in the Otish Mountains, staked as aeromagnetic targets, were subjected to till sampling. Diadem reports that 20% of the till samples contained some diamond indicator minerals and therefore some of these claims were retained. Mineral Processing and Metallurgical Testing No mineral processing or metallurgical testing has been done on samples from the property to date. There is no mention or any record in the public domain of any mineral processing or metallurgical testing of samples from Cogema’s nearby uranium bearing “L”-zone. 19.0 Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve Estimate No mineral resources or mineral reserves have been located on the OTISH MOUNTAIN PROPERTY. Evaluation Report OTISH MOUNTAI N PROPERTY page 22 20.0 Other Relevant Data and Information All available technical reports relating to the OTISH MOUTAIN PROPERTY have been reviewed by the author and the parts relevant to the evaluation of the OTISH MOUTAIN PROPERTY and to document the recommendations made, have been used to compose this report. The author is not aware of any information not used for this report the omission of which could make this report erroneous or misleading. . 21.0 Interpretation and Conclusions Block 2 and 3 of Xemplar’s OTISH MOUNTAIN PROPERTY cover a portion of the 1500 km 2 land position that was extensively explored by the Cogema/Soquem joint venture from 1979 to 1985. In the initial years the joint venture prospected, did airborne geophysical and geochemical surveys, started investigating radioactive float trains and drilled the first showings found (L, S and G). Their exploration efforts became more focused and amplified when the L-zone proved to be a coherent body of uranium mineralization over a length of 600m. The joint venture partners then put great effort in drilling the L zone and defining the characteristics of the L zone. The essence of this definition was the triple point where gabbro intrusions breached the dolomite beds at the contact of the Peribonca and Indicateur Formations. They proceeded then, with an almost Cartesian rigor, and backed by large exploration budgets, to map all locales within their vast holdings where this “triple point’ could be present within 150 meters from surface. Cogema then proceeded to drill those areas at 400 or 500 meter intervals. This large effort by 1984 had not yielded a single exact replica of the L-style mineralization although uranium mineralization was found in bedrock, but not pursued, in holes OELV-290 and OELU-229 and at Lac Tion. After some diminished efforts in 1985, the project was abandoned. The only land retained was the immediate area around the uranium mineralization at the L” zone. It is clear that the L zone is an epigenetic uranium deposit and in a general is controlled by: • • • • faults, now occupied by gabbro dykes Chemical characteristics and contrasts in oxidation/reduction potential of gabbro dykes, sandstones and dolomite beds. These contrasts cause the precipitation and preservation of uranium mineralization. Physical barriers to solution migration posed by the various lithologies mentioned above. And accompanied by wide spread alteration including silicification, clay alteration arrayed in a wide halo surrounding the host rocks of any uranium mineralization. Such conditions for the formation and preservation of uranium mineralization will not exclusively need replicas of the geometry of the L deposit in order to form uranium deposits of economic interest. This review clearly found that uranium mineralization exists on the property in different stratigraphic settings. Excellent potential for uranium mineralization remains at the three sites where Cogema did not pursue new Uranium finds: • • OELU 229 Uranium mineralization (0.17% over 0.8m) occurs at the south side of a Gabbro dyke and appears discontinuous. The nearest tests of the gabbro dyke are 500 meter north and 200 meters south of the hole. OELV 290. The mineralization (0.15% U over 4.5 m) in drill hole 290 together with radioactive zones in neighbouring holes are located within a NNE trending zone of Evaluation Report OTISH MOUNTAI N PROPERTY page 23 • silicification in sandstone below a gabbro sill. The mineralized zone appears open and is untested to the NNE. In the other direction the nearest hole is 400 m away. Lac Tion. Uranium mineralization is indicated over a 2.5 km strike length by anomalous lake sediment samples and anomalous soil samples. Minimal drilling with short Winkie holes identified an altered dolerite (fine grained gabbro) dyke with anomalous uranium values (0.05% U over 0.8m) as the probable cause. Alteration extends well into the siltstone and sandstone host rocks. As stated under section 4 - Introduction and Terms of Reference - a very large amount of data files and interpretation reports on the exploration of the Otish Mountain is in the public domain. The majority of this material documents the Cogema/Soquem work. It is estimated that at least $15,000,000 was spent by the joint venture. A tabulation of raw data and reinterpretation of surface and airborne surveys has a high probability to result in additional worthwhile exploration recommendations for the property. This work should emphasis the area of the S and G showings on which no further work is recommended at this time. Block 3 of Xemplar’s OTISH MOUNTAIN PROPERTY is located along the north-western rim of the Otish Basin. The Otish Basin/Archean unconformity is located under a gradually southeasterly dipping monoclinal sequence of Otish Basin sediments. In the area of Block 3, the Archean sequence dipping under the Otish sediments includes a metavolcanic greenstone belt. Past exploration of the unconformity was strictly restricted to the narrow rim of the basin. Modern airborne technology, such as VTEM and MEGATEM will now permit to explore to depths of up to 700-1000 meters below surface to locate conductive horizons in the Archean. Such zones are the preferred locales of uranium precipitation and so give rise to unconformityassociated uranium deposits. 22.0 Recommendations It is recommended to explore the OTISH MOUNTAIN PROPERTY for uranium mineralization as follows: Phase 1 1. Drill targets: • • • OELU-229 (not illustrated): drill the mineralized, south contact of the gabbro dyke, 50 and 100 meter east of hole 229, with holes angled at 45º (Az. 135º). Prior to drilling, It will be necessary to do a small ground magnetic survey in the area to accurately locate the gabbro contact. Holes to be spudded 40 meters southeast (135º) of the contact. Total 300 meters OELV-290 (see fig 10): drill 1 hole, 100 meters west and two holes 100 and 200 meters east of Hole 290. Local coordinates respectively 500N,100W- 700N, 175W – 800N, 225W. Holes to be vertical and 125 m deep each. Total 375 m. Lac Tion (see fig 11): drill 3 holes located northeast (Az. 038º) of old hole 200 at a distance of 100m, 250 m and 400m respectively. Holes to be directed to the southeast at -60 (az. 128º). Total 300 m. 2. Airborne EM surveys 2 Areas with shallow Otish Basin sediments total 190km and are illustrated on figure 12 below. It is recommended to cover these areas with airborne EM (VTEM or MEGATEM) and magnetic surveys on 200 meter spaced lines. Evaluation Report OTISH MOUNTAI N PROPERTY page 24 3. Data Research This should be a comprehensive effort to; compile and organize all raw data, re-interpret magnetic, VLF, IP and geochemical surveys, compile all radiometric peaks measured in the drill logs and if not analysed, retrieve cores at the Lac Gustave core storage site for analysis. This is estimated to take a period of two months for a geologist and or geophysicist including time for data acquisition and drafting. Phase 2 1. Follow- up on airborne Geophysical Results Magnetic and electromagnetic data should be interpreted and integrated with all other geo-data of the area. Conductive zones found need to be surveyed on the ground with time domain type EM if targets are deep. Geochemical techniques such as down-ice (from the conductive zones) till sampling and determination of clay mineralogy with PIMA technology will make it possible to detect alteration plumes in overlying Otish Basin sediments. 2. follow- up on results from Phase 1 drilling This is entirely dependant of results in Phase 1 3. Follow-up on reinterpretation of data. This also is entirely dependant on results of the study recommended under Phase 1.
