Take a leisurely walk around town on a measured walking route, or hop on your bike and ride for a few miles on the Willard Munger State Trail. The diverse parks in Moose Lake offer areas for recreation including swimming, canoeing and kayaking, playgrounds, and fishing - and are smoke free! Moose Lake State Park contains trails for hiking, as well as the Agate and Geological Interpretive Center. The State Park trails are also open for you to enjoy the magic of winter by snowshoeing and cross country skiing. As a Minnesota Governor’s Fit City, Moose Lake is committed to creating and maintaining a city environment supportive of active living. Come enjoy some of the best parts of our community. Do not miss the chance to visit the museum housed in the historic train depot. The remainder of the walk will take you down the sidewalks of Arrowhead Lane, which passes by local restaurants and businesses. You will finish up back at Earl Ellen’s Park. GREEN ROUTE: At the beginning of your walk you will pass the Langhorst/Iraq War Monument. As you stroll along Lakeshore Drive, enjoy a view of Moose Head Lake. Further along the way, you will have a chance to enjoy Moose Lake City Park and maybe take a swim at our local beach. When you arrive on Arrowhead Lane you will be at Veteran’s Park. Stop and enjoy the view of Moose Head Lake from the bridge that crosses the Moose Head River. The trail is well maintained by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
