The Ultimate Open House Checklist:
Curb Appeal
We know—selling your home is a marathon, not a sprint. It’s a big decision that can take years of
dreaming, years of waiting for home values to return all while second-guessing yourself, your life
choices, and the market. You’ve been patient. The house you expected to live in for a few years
has turned into a 10-year hold. Rejoice! The housing market has rebounded, and the time to sell
may be now: Home prices are up, interest rates are still low (but rising), and inventory is tight.

Of course, the first thing a potential buyer sees is your front yard and your home’s exterior. Is your
house as attractive as it could be? According to the 2015 Remodeling Cost vs. Value report by the
National Association of Realtors®, home buyers are big on curb appeal. So here’s our checklist of
everything you need to do to get the outside of your home looking as good as the inside.
1. Replace the Entry Door and Garage Door
2. Wash the Windows
3. Repair / Replace the Roof
4. Clear the Gutters
5. Replace the Siding
6. Tuck-Point the Bricks

Mothers Day
The modern American holiday of Mother's Day was first celebrated in 1908, when Anna Jarvis
held a memorial for her mother at St Andrew's Methodist Church in Grafton, West Virginia, which
now holds the International Mother's Day Shrine.[6] Her campaign to make "Mother's Day" a
recognized holiday in the United States began in 1905, the year her beloved mother, Ann
Reeves Jarvis, died. Anna's mission was to honor her own mother by continuing work she
started and to set aside a day to honor mothers, "the person who has done more for you than
anyone in the world". Anna's mother, Ann Jarvis, was a peace activist who cared for wounded
soldiers on both sides of the Civil War and created Mother’s Day Work Clubs to address public
health issues.

How to Protect Your Home From Termites By Pedro...
Termites live in colonies and feed on the cellulose in wood. They perform a vital function in nature,
however once termites move into your house, they can cause significant damage both structurally
and financially. If termites enter your house, you should eliminate them as soon as possible.
Effective termite programs involve three steps: Identification, Elimination, and Prevention.
1. Identify the termites who are invading your house.
2. Eliminate any existing termites.
3. Prevent further infestations.
4. Use Permethrin.

On The Road With Trevor...
Being the Maintenance Assistant can keep a guy on the road a lot of hours working for Empire Industries. But, I love my job and
wouldn't trade it for the world. In saying that, I also love my down time. Some of my favorite spots to relax and unwind are Minute
Maid Park, Kemah Boardwalk, Fishing in Surfside, and catching up on my Netflix shows like Dexter and Breaking Bad. Now
everyone has their hot spots, these are just some of the places I recommend you try if you are in need of some fun and excitement.
Around the World With Steve...Bangkok!
Being an airline pilot has given me a very rare opportunity to be able to travel to places I had only heard of in movies and been able
to see things that I could never have imagined witnessing first hand. While I was living in Guam I had the opportunity of not only
getting to travel Bangkok, Thailand but actually have some friends that lived there and I was able to take my parents to see this
beautiful place through the eyes of a local. Which if anyone has ever traveled there is no comparison.
We got to go inside some amazing temples and see things like the Lying Buddha that is as big as the building itself and Emerald
Buddha which is the size of a small child but made out of Emerald and has had many wars fought over it. We rode on long boats
through the rivers and saw how local people live their daily lives in conditions that we could not imagine, but to them it is just a
regular Monday. We went shopping at the famous floating market where everything is traded and bartered while your in a little boat
traveling from one boat to the next to see what they are selling. We took a trip up to the famous River Kwai and got to see the actual
bridge that was hard fought over and many American and British lives were lost defending. We got to ride an elephant, eat in some
amazing restaurants where only the locals go, see an authentic kickboxing match and meet monks at a monistary.

Once the water is boiling, stir in the macaroni, and return to a boil. Cook the pasta uncovered,
stirring occasionally, until the pasta has cooked through, but is still firm to the bite, about 8 minutes.
Drain well in a colander set in the sink.
Add the macaroni to the the beef and onion and place over medium-low heat; stir in the processed
cheese until melted, about 3 minutes. Add the salsa, pinto beans, and corn to the mixture; stir and
