The “2000” design enables you to increase thickness quickly by nesting layers instead of buying different and incompatible products. By adding 2 or 3 nested layers of CW2K, you can control energy hot spots in corners or in the path of first reflections quickly and efficiently. Cutting Wedge 2000 can be used to simply and efficiently create virtual bass traps in corners by nesting 3 Cutting Wedge 2000® or 4 layers of CW2K. 1’x1’ Colors: Charcoal Brown Beige Blue • Prevent destructive specular reflections from distorting or coloring the sweet spot • Eliminate room modes, comb filtering, standing waves and undesirable specular artifacts • Attenuate sound pressure buildup at room boundaries (where walls meet walls) Cutting Wedge 2000® 2’x4’ SIZES: CW Classic: 2”,3”, 4”, & 6” thicknesses, as 1’ x 1’ squares and 2’ x 4’ sheets CW2K: 2.25” thickness, as 1’ x 1’ squares and 2’ x 4’ sheets Sound Absorption Coefficients Cutting Wedge Classic 250 Hz 2” 3” 4” 6” 2.25” 0.31 0.58 0.9 1.12 500 Hz 1000 Hz 2000 Hz 0.69 0.94 0.95 0.67 0.91 0.96 0.84 0.99 0.98 0.88 1.05 1.06 Cutting Wedge 2000 0.28 0.79 0.92 0.91 NRC Material: Open Cell Polyurethane Foam Density: 2 pound cubic foot 0.70 0.80 0.95 1.05 Flammability: Meets UL94HF-1 Flame Spread= 95 Smoke Density= 340 Tensile Strength= 20 0.70 Can be installed using a construction adhesive that is approved for foam. 2247 Tomlyn Street Richmond, VA 23230 USA Tel: (804) 342-2900 Fax: (804) 342-1107 Toll Free 888 765 2900 [email protected] www.acousticsfirst.com Rev. Complimenting the wall panels are the Bermuda Triangle Traps®. These extend the absorption range, providing bass control in the room corners. Completing the AcoustiKit are the original Art Diffusors®. These are true “Binary Array” diffusors as seen in professional recording facilities around the world. These sound scattering devices make the room seem larger by breaking up reflections. A room layout guide is included with the package. The design, created by a professional acoustician, illustrates placement of materials in relation to the listening position. The acoustical foam comes in our standard charcoal grey. The diffusors are white and may be painted with a water based latex spray paint to match the room décor. This product is suitable for theaters and other critical listening environments. CONSTRUCTION The core construction is a ¾” dimensionally stable 6-7 PCF glass fiberboard attached at an angle to an MDO plywood backer and ribs, covered face and edges with a layer of 16-20 PCF molded fiberglass for absorption, or 1/16” unperforated copolymer face sheet for high frequency reflection. Finishes are completely adhered to the face of the panel and returned to the back for a full finished, fully tailored edge. SIZE AVAILABILITY Maximum size is 16 square feet, with a maximum length of 8’, and minimum width of 2’. Minimum depth is 1-1/2”. FINISH Guilford of Maine® FR701® Style 2100 or factory approved finish EDGE DETAIL All edges are square and covered with 1/8” molded fiberglass. MOUNTING Standard mounting is Z-Clip to Wall Bar. Wall Bar to Wall Bar or a combination of Wall Bar on the top, and Velcro on the bottom is also available. ACOUSTICAL PERFORMANCE Sonora Sound Shim Panels provide excellent acoustical performance for auditoriums, theaters, or anywhere sound absorption or directed reflection with low frequency absorption is required. FIRE RATING Components, with the exception of the MDO plywood, have been tested according to ASTM E 84 and have a flame spread of 25 or less. The device is similar in style to a standard fabric covered acoustical wall panel and can be intermixed with them. Flat Panel Diffuser (US Patent # 7,314,114) Acoustical performance differs significantly from outward appearance. Foil Backing Internally the panel substrates have a pattern of holes in two substrate layers, 180 degrees out-of-phase with each other and separated by a thin membrane creating an equal distribution of absorptive and reflective regions both vertically and horizontally. There will also be additional cancellation at certain frequencies due to wave interference from phase shifting due to the time delay of passing through the various combinations of substrate and membrane and reflecting back through the panel. VIB-X Pad may be used to mount noisy machinery or to attach an independent ‘floating’ stud wall for room-within-a-room isolation. The crossribbed construction acts as an efficient energy absorber, enabling large horizontal forces to be generated without slippage or “walking” occurring. The flexing of the damping material provides the energy dissipation and “decay” to reduce noise. Metal no longer “rings” when it is struck or excited by airborne noise. IsoHangers IsoHangers are used to absorb vibration energy to help prevent the structural transmission of sound. These can be used to hang speaker boxes, ceilings and ceiling grids, air ducts and piping. Clearance for 3/16” diameter rod. 200 lbs. Resilient Clips Improve sound transmission loss, reduce impact noise and structural noise transmission in most ceiling and wall constructions. Resilient clips are used to isolate using standard furring channels (hat track) when mounting gypsum board, drywall, or sheetrock. Clips eliminate the need for RC-1 and other acoustical mats. Can improve STC up to 20 points. Underlayment provides floor isolation to prevent sound transmission, structural noise transmission and impact noise. This lightweight, semi-flexible, easy-to-handle material is a vinyl coated, grey colored fiberglass facing cloth, quilted to a supporting 2 lb./cu. ft. density fiberglass. Quilted Fiberglass Material (QFM) As a semi-flexible barrier enclosure, StratiQuilt’s absorptive properties help to control reverberant energy inside an area. StratiQuilt does not accordion fold, therefore it should be considered as a suspended barrier in areas requiring infrequent access. CONSTRUCTION: StratiQuilt Panels are quilted in a 4” diamond shape, and are fully bound on all edges so no fiberglass is exposed. Other configurations are available. SQ122 - Facing on one side. Standard grommets are on the top 4’ edge only. SQ124 - is constructed of two layers of SQ122 bound back-to-back. SQ125 - is similar to SQ124—with 1.0 lb./sq. ft. loaded vinyl barrier septum added. All Stratiquilt panels have standard brass grommets 12” O.C. on top hanging side. In addition, SQ124 and SQ125 have double-grommet fastening system on edges. Nylon thread is used exclusively for all hems.
