The Bordo family. Shape, function, colour.
This is the maxim the ABUS designers followed during the Bordo development. Finally the apparently
nonmatching characteristics, high level security, as well as compact and clean design, could be combined.
The used technology is innovative: the single bars of this foldable lock are connected in the same way as
the single parts of a folding rule. To satisfy the desire for individualisation, the lock is presented in a colour
triad. The youngest member of the family is the new Bordo Lite weighing only 650 g - a real light weight.

Which lock matches my needs?
As basic rule can be applied: Invest no less than 10%
of the bicycle value for your lock.
This rule of thumb and the lock selector help specify your individual security
requirements more accurately. The criteria taken into account are the value of the

For many years ABUS has actively supported traffic
safety and is strongly involved in the sustainable traffic
education of children. As „partner in mobile security“
the „German Traffic Watch“ (Deutsche Verkehrswacht
DVW) and ABUS support the „Children Traffic Schools“
(Jugendverkehrsschulen JVS) and the traffic education in
primary schools.
The main focus of this work is to motivate children and
teens to wear helmets. An elaborate education and the
awareness of the dangers in the traffic are important points.
How riding your bike really works is imparted by the DVW
in collaboration with 1,100 children traffic schools in bike
trainings in which about 800,000 children take part. ABUS
is involved with the JVS as supplier and puts youth and kids
helmets at their disposal.
