2016 Collection
In 1919, inside a little shack in
Northamptonshire, John White himself
was stitching together a legacy. He was
handcrafting the first pair of John White
shoes, and the beginnings of a British
boot-making empire.
From the very first pair, John White’s
shoes were all labelled with KB. This
mysterious emblem was only explained
towards the end of his life. This stood
for Keep Believing, and this had been
John’s motto throughout.
Whatever adversity John White faced,
the man and his shoes would find a
way to persevere. The story of John
White Shoes is still alive today in
Northamptonshire, and we are still
driven by the same founding values:
Quality craftsmanship, timeless British
styling, and most importantly: a belief
in what we do.

This year we have chosen to expand our Church Street collection to fulfil its growing
popularity. This diversified collection is inspired by our extensive heritage in
Northamptonshire. Church Street in Higham Ferrers was the location of the primary
John White Shoe factory back in the 1920’s.

This collection lives up to its name, providing a range of much loved reliable shoes and boots
with Blake stitched soles.Traditional footwear with a prodigious heritage, this collection
dates right back to the 1930’s.
Within this collection this year we have launched a new Ferrersmere range, named after
John White’s house.The collection combines our stylish, high quality boots and shoes with
premium cushioning for a more luxurious fit. Every style in this collection is made with
an adaptive comfort system, to perfectly match the shape and contours of the foot.This
distributes pressure over the area of the footbed evenly to achieve a precise level of comfort.

All of the 1919 collection are Goodyear welted
and handcrafted in Northamptonshire, where
the brand began.
As tradition from the very first pair of shoes
John White made, they all have the prefix KB.
This mysterious emblem was only explained
towards the end of John White’s life. This stood
for Keep Believing, and this had been John’s
motto throughout and a motto we cherish today.

The updated Lime Street collection is in recognition of the popularity of our entry
price point range which combines high-grade calf uppers with rubber soles. Lime
Street is where the John White factory was built in the 1930’s, the building which was
designed by Sir Albert Edward Richardson still stands proudly in Higham Ferrers today.

In 1930 John White made the
headlines with the Impregnable
range. Not only for the quantity
of footwear the company
produced but the variety on
offer, stating that John White of
Rushden makes an Impregnable
boot or shoe for every man.
They were also highlighted for
their quality in material and
manufacture, made for a man
to wear, proudly. Today our
Impregnable collection is still
going strong, and living up to its
name Impregnable ‘unable to be
defeated or overcome’.
