The Mahavidyapeetha shelters over 350 institutions, both at home and abroad. The JSSATE campus is spread over 21 acres of land surrounded by lush green plantation on the south western part of Bangalore city. The institution established in 1997 conducts seven under-graduate programmes, four post-graduate programmes in VLSI, MEM, PDM and MBA. The whole campus is networked and has centralized browsing facility with 4MBPS dedicated internet bandwidth with ISDN backup and Wi-Fi facility. The departments of Mechanical Engineering, IEM, Instrumentation Technology & MBA are recognized research centres under VTU, Belgaum. The institution also houses an Advanced Jewellery Design Technology Centre and Product Lifecycle Management Competency Centre in technical collaboration with Dassault Systemes France, Ministry of Education, France and JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Mysore. About the Department The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 2004 with an intake of 60 students affiliated to VTU, Belgaum and is recognized by AICTE, New Delhi. The department has qualified and experienced teaching faculty with state of the art infrastructure, and modern teaching aids catering to the needs of VTU curriculum. It also has a Research and Development Centre recognized by VTU, Belgaum. About Micromatic Machine Tools M/s. Chief Patron Course Objective The main objective of this program is to enlighten the participants on the teaching methodology and hands on experience for CNC turning, CNC milling and simulation software. This course helps to acquire insight into the subject and create interest in students of engineering. Another objective is to motivate the faculty to pursue higher studies and research in the field of CNC machines. We also recognize recent trend in the industry of an upsurge requirement for the engineers to face the global challenges in the productivity. An efficient knowledge of CNC machines and the programming concepts will enhance the potentiality of the engineer to face the global challenges in the manufacturing industry for improving productivity. There is a renewed need for quality engineers with sound knowledge of machines and CNC programming. This course will equip the faculty to train their students to meet the challenges of the growing aerospace and automobile sectors. Department of Mechanical Engineering, JSSATE has launched an initiative in this direction to organize the event through this course. Course Contents The course content is designed to impart knowledge on CNC turning & milling operations like simple turning, step turning, taper, profile, thread cutting, grooving, internal machining, surface milling, side milling, drilling, counter bore, tapping, pocketing, etc., using CADEM software. Ltd, Bangalore was started in 1989 & has a range of products for monitoring and improving the productivity of manufacturing industries, programming and program transfer for CNC machines and training The resource personalities for the course are from M/s.
