LANDLORD’S INFORMATION PACK What is Automoney? A short term consumer finance company founded in the USA in the 1980s by Rod Aycox who is CEO of Quickclick Loans Ltd trading as Automoney. Automoney is continuing to reshape the UK log book loan industry into a more consumer-friendly, professional, reputable and ultimately profitable business. The company currently trades from 25 locations (see Appendix 1 – Existing Stores) with 5 other properties under offer with plans to open a significant number of outlets throughout 2012/2013. US Company History Rod Aycox opened his first few stores in Georgia and Alabama before taking on partners to increase his capital. With his new partners he opened around 220 more offices across the USA. At this point Rod Aycox split from his existing partners to found Select Management Resources LLC, the US parent company of Quickclick Loans Ltd. This business now trades from in excess of 750 units across the USA and is still expanding. The professional high profile branding of Select Management Resources LLC in the USA will be replicated by Automoney throughout the UK. UK Management/Company Structure Automoney is the trading name of Quickclick Loans Ltd, a company registered in England in 2006, company registration number 05881155 with its registered office at Russell House, Oxford Road, Bournemouth, Dorset BH8 8EX. Trading commenced in October 2009 with the opening of the first UK store in Southport. Whilst the majority shareholder of the UK business is Rod Aycox, the business is run on a daily basis by Marion Goodman who is General Manager of UK Operations of Quickclick Loans Ltd. Trading Style Quickclick Loans Ltd trades as Automoney. The business aims to provide short term consumer finance in easily accessible professionally run high street/edge of town centre locations initially in the North of England but ultimately across the UK and Ireland. In terms of marketing, the business utilises its prominent/highly visible locations and bold signage/branding to advertise its presence in any given location together with press, radio and coming soon, TV advertising. Trading Format Automoney in both its high street and edge of town centre locations has sought and seeks to establish its vibrant brand identity through its bold coloured signage and intentionally transparent professional office fit outs. A copy of the standard office fit out specification and typical finishes floor plan can be found in Appendix 2. Automoney seeks to work with landlords to considerably improve each property they occupy - a selection of ‘before and after’ photographs is included in Appendix 3. A typical shop fit costs £20/30,000. Property Requirements With 25 branches trading and 5 under offer several more under negotiation, Automoney are seeking lots more new branches to open in the next 12 months. Financials Whilst Quickclick Loans Limited was established in 2006, trading commenced with the opening of Southport in October 2009. Plant and Equipment 1.7 Provide and maintain all temporary plant etc, necessary to carry out the works. 1.8 Ensure all skips located on-site are covered and locked out of hours, due to site being open. Statutory Regulations 1.9 Allow for complying with all local authority, statutory requirements for the access and general working arrangements. Site Safety 1.10 Allow for providing all protection necessary to safeguard the public, staff and visitors at times during the course of the works. Product handling and Storage 1.11 Materials should be stored in a dry store. Any damage or damp materials as a result of being left out overnight will be condemned and removed from site. 1 Workmanship 1.12 All workmanship and materials are to be no lesser standard than those laid down in the current British Standards Specification and Codes of Practice where they exist and fully in accordance with current Building Regulations and the requirements detailed in the manufacturer’s instructions & guidelines. Building Occupation 1.13 The contractor is to note that all surrounding buildings will remain occupied during the course of the work. All reasonable precautions must be taken to minimise noise, dust and general inconvenience from the works.
