Especial guests - Bilateral Business Summit 2015
Mexican Business Delegation
Oil & Gas
July 17 2015
In the framework of the Bilateral Business Summit
relationship, ProMéxico is bringing a commercial mission focused on the oil & gas sector, looking to explore trade and investment
opportunities between Mexican and German companies.
In the past, other sectors have greatly benefited from German-Mexican collaboration. Such is the case of the automotive sector, with over 50
years of partnership amongst our countries, dating back to the historic year of 1964 when Volkswagen opened their first production plant in
Mexico. Since then, we are proud to day that our collaboration has grown stronger now hosting operations from some of Germany s leading
companies in the sector such as Daimler, BMW and AUDI among other. Since then, Mexico has become one of the most varied and fulfilled
markets, and is currently the 5th auto-parts exporter in the world. Another collaboration success story, is the aerospace industry, in which
Mexico was able to build a whole new industry practically from scratch, with great participation of German companies. The level of maturity
reached in the last 10 years is such that we expect the first aircraft fully assembled in Mexico to be in the market by 2018. Our countries have
proven our great potential in developing leading industries together and we are faced with the opportunity to replicate this success in the
energy sector.
The companies that conform this mission, are some of the most emblematic companies, and have had an important role in the history and
development of the Mexican energy sector. Looking closer, some of these individuals belong to a long family tradition of participating in the
industry, and others have even been important contributors to the legislation that is now re-shaping the energy sector.
