Welcome To Carnell Estates
Carnell Estates is a beautiful country house in the magnificent settings of Ayrshire, Scotland. The listed 16th
Century Tower and Mansion House is set within extensive gardens and parklands, which make Carnell Estates
renowned for luxury accommodation, shooting and golfing breaks.
Carnell Estate is the ideal venue for private parties, conferences and weddings. Mr and Mrs Michael Findlay are
pleased to host events and tailor short breaks around golf, shooting and birthday parties etc.

The 10 acre garden has featured in the “Beechgrove Garden” , ”Country Life” , The “Good Gardens Guide” as well
as Suki Urquhart’s book “The Scottish Gardener”. Carnell has a traditional walled garden with a 100 yard long
herbaceous border, as well as a rock and water garden, gazebo with Burmese statues, lawns and many other
features of interest. Herbaceous, rose and phlox borders are in full bloom during July.

Activities
Carnell Estates is a beautiful country house
located in the spectacular scenery of
Ayrshire, which makes Carnell Estates the
perfect setting for your special occasion.
Carnell originally belonged to the Wallace
family, the ancestors of the present owners.
The estate is situated in the picturesque
countryside of Ayrshire. A convenient
location for nearby Glasgow, Edinburgh
and also Prestwick Airport being only 15
minutes away by car.
At Carnell, we only cater for a maximum of
15 weddings per year. This is an exclusive
experience and we do not want you feel
like you are on a conveyor belt like so many
other venues.
The Shoot on Carnell has been established
for over 100 years and is renowned for high
flying pheasants. On the driven days we
can offer between 250 and 500 birds over
five drives, four drives in the morning and
one in the afternoon. The shooting season
runs from October until the end of January
and the bag consists of pheasant, partridge
and duck. Mini driven days can also be
organised where between 60 and 120 birds
can be shot.
Accommodation* is available in the
Carnell Mansion House and Michael and
Deborah Findlay would be delighted to
welcome you to their home. The house
consists of ten double/twin bedrooms all
tastefully decorated and including their
own bathrooms. All food is cooked on the
premises, from locally sourced ingredients,
and served in the elegant red dining room.
Couples can be married in the beautiful
gardens that surround the main house.
Maximum numbers that can be catered for
are 200 people for a sit down meal with a
dance floor. For an example menu of our

Carnell Estates is located in Hurlford, just outside
Kilmarnock and within easy travelling distance of the
three main Scottish Airports. Edinburgh, Glasgow,
and Prestwick Airport.
