VENUE
The Swimming Pools Kantrida
The Swimming Pools Kantrida: sports, leisure and entertainment complex were inaugurated
in 2008 and completed in 2011. Apart from the swimming pools, the complex includes
additional contents, which is why it is not only used for high-quality preparations and
competitions by professional athletes but also for leisure and entertainment. It was
awarded several international awards.
On the wet side, the facility boasts the Olympic Swimming Pool 1 (indoor swimming pool)
with a unique retractable roof structure, the reconstructed Olympic Swimming Pool 2
(outdoor swimming pool), a 25m swimming pool, a children’s swimming pool and a diving
pool. The swimming pools are used by athletes of various age groups for professional
trainings and by general public for leisure. They are well equipped to meet the highest
standards in water sports. Beside the complex is a beach, which was officially opened to
the public in the middle of June 2011.
On the dry side, there are fitness suites, wellness, scuba diving centre, cafés, and parking
facilities, all offering a breath taking view of the Kvarner Bay and the islands. In earlier
years the venue has hosted several international events like the European Short Course
Swimming Championships, LEN Final Four Water polo, European junior Water polo
championship, as well as many national and international Diving, Water polo, Swimming
and diving championships and tournaments.

SYSTEM OF COMPETITION
Rijeka Master Water Polo Championship will be played according the LEN rules for
European Master Waterpolo Championship. The system depends on the number of teams
taking part.
The draw will be held after preliminary entries and all participating teams will be informed
about the schedule.

VISA APPLICATION
Participants from countries needing an entry visa for Croatia are requested to contact the
OC for an official invitation letter. In order to avoid problems of administrative nature when
requesting a visa, please contact the Croatian Embassy or Consular Authorities within
your country in due time prior to your planned arrival to Croatia.

PASSPORT CHECK
The passport check will be at the accreditation desk and at the Technical Meeting by the
LEN Technical Delegates.
OPENING CEREMONY
The Opening Ceremony will take place atb swimming pools Kantrida.
VICTORY CEREMONIES
The Victory Ceremonies will take place after each category finals.
CLOSING CEREMONY
The Closing Ceremonies will take place before the last finals.
CONFIRMATION OF THE RETURN TRAVEL
Each Team Manager shall confirm the departure time latest at the Team Leader Meeting,
by returning the Form which will be provided, so that the transport to the airport can
be arranged. Only teams using official organizer agency transport will be free of charge others will be charged.
INSURANCE
The Insurance of the participants is at the responsibility of the respective Clubs.
AIRPORT TRANSFERS
The OC will organize transfers for all participants using official organizer agency and
accommodation. Transfers will be organized from and to official airports. The Transfer
Request Forms will be published on the official web site and filled shall be sent in due time
as stated in the form. In case you do would not use the official accommodation, we can
arrange transportation at extra charge costs.

LOCAL TRANSFERS
Local daily transfers will be organized for all accredited participants using official organizer
agency and accommodation. Transfer will connect the venue and hotels. The transfers
will be scheduled in accordance with official training and competition schedules. In case
you do would not use the official accommodation, we can arrange transportation at extra
charge costs.

We will provide several options for the accommodation of swimmers, officials and other
participants in Rijeka or Opatija. Different types of rooms and hotels will be available in
accordance to participants’ needs.

Uvala Scott is a tourist village situated in the Dubno Bay. Attracted by the beauty of the
bay, the English nobleman Alexandre Scott bought it in the XIX century and it became his
permanent residence until he died in 1860.

The old hotel building was built in 1920-ies, carring the style which gives this hotel it’s unique charm and
distinguishness. Since hotel is 500 m distant from center of town, You can get there taking a low walk along
the coast or passing by many small shops and restaurants. It is situated at ca 600 m from the center of
Crikvenica, very close to the beach (there is only the promenade road between the hotel and the beach).

Hotel Omorika**** is located about 2 km from the centre of Crkvenica. Surrounded by Mediterranean plants
it rises above the promenade that is next to a pebbled beach.
The hotel was built in 1973. It got its name from a protected endemic tree “Omorika” that was discovered
by botanist dr Josip Pančić, who was born is this area, in Bribir. The tree was discovered in 1855 and is
considered a living fossil as it dates back to the Tertiary period. Outside of its natural habitat, Pančić’s
omorika is of great value to horticulture as an ornamental plant in gardens and parks. A statue to honour
botanist Pančić was placed in front of the hotel. The size of the hotel, its spacious halls and state rooms tell
a story of glamour of past times. Hotel Omorika held famous symposiums and scientific gatherings. The best
known is the 1st World Symposium of Astronauts on the subject of Danikan’s book on aliens. The hotel was
renovated in 2015. Hotel Omorika has 115 rooms and 230 beds. The rooms are spacious and all of them have
a sea view and balcony, sat-TV, telephone, bathroom with a bath.
