Sebring, Corvettes first race of
the 2010 American Le Mans Series,
was cut short by an unfortunate pit
lane mishap which sent the C6.R
#4 Corvette behind the wall. This
decisive moment occurred at 3:09 pm
when the C6.R #3 Corvette pitted
with Magnussen replacing Johnny
O’Connell. Magnussen was released
from his pit box just as Emmanuel
Collard was entering the adjacent stall
in the C6.R #4 Corvette. The resulting
contact damaged both vettes with the
#4 being immediately sent behind
the wall to the transporters garage
where the Corvette crew replaced its
front stabilizer bar and significant
bodywork. Meanwhile, the #3 suffered
a punctured front tire and returned to
the pits for repairs after completing
another lap at reduced speed.

Members, I know you recognize
that Lance is one of the owners of
Carlisle Events which puts on premiere
shows all summer long, including my
personal favorite Corvettes at Carlisle.
Lance and his family are keeping the
Corvette dream alive for all of us, and
more importantly, for all our children.
So if you are planning on attending
a Corvette show this summer, may I
strongly suggest Corvettes at Carlisle,
August 27-29, 2010, because I’m sure
there will be tons of stories being told
about the Briggs Cunningham Corvette
#3 return to Le Mans. Trust me, you
will want to be there to hear those
stories firsthand!
