Its modern skyline is dominated by the 451m-tall Petronas Twin Towers, a pair of glass-and-steel-clad skyscrapers with Islamic motifs. The towers also offer a public skybridge and observation deck. The city is also home to British colonial-era landmarks such as the Kuala Lumpur Railway Station and the Sultan Abdul Samad Building. It is among the fastest growing metropolitan regions in South-East Asia, in terms of population and economy. A Note From the President Having been in the entertainment industry for nearly as much time as Selenis Leyva, I can firmly state that there is not a reality of an overnight success, and I know she agrees. Leyva graces the cover of this issue not only because of her newly found stardom, but she is a symbol of something deeper than a complex character on Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black. He Knows 18 Summer 15 Issue Interlude|10 Hooka Hey |80 Thus far, we have counted Leyva for being an advocate for increased racial relations within the Latino community and an advocate for Latinos learning the potential of their political power, but it does not stop there. She is also an advocate for the LGBT community, as she is a proud sister of a brave transgender woman. It is painstakingly obvious that she would be on our cover; she is yet another example of what platforms should be used for. This past April, Leyva was the emcee for the annual I Stand with Planned Parenthood Luncheon sharing the stage with Rock the Vote’s president, Ashley Spillane. There are even whispers that she will be the face of a future Rock the Vote campaign. Vivienne Westwood – fashion designer, activist and renowned maverick often credited with the creation of punk, a pillar of the fashion world and one of the most original minds in contemporary clothes design – is the latest creative luminary to be celebrated by Moleskine. Anarchy Shirt From the Anarchy shirt and Bondage suit to the Buffalo hat immortalized by Pharrell Williams when he wore it to the 2014 Grammy Awards over 30 years after it was first launched, the publication focuses on key pieces in Westwood’s collection, from 1976 to the present day. Groundbreaking designs, such as the Mini-Crini, Statue of Liberty corset as well as the mockcroc 12-inch high platform shoes from the “Anglomania” collection, which supermodel Naomi Campbell was wearing when she famously fell on the runway, are reproduced in full color and supported by texts and other images of the designer’s inspiration. A previously unpublished interview is printed here for the first time, revealing Westwood’s thoughts on contemporary art and design, and insights into her own processes, beliefs and motivations. It is an important testimony to the craftsmanship in the work of this fashion pioneer, who continues to break down boundaries and challenge the status quo in our world today. I first stumbled upon this type of cuisine while on assignment in Jakarta, Indonesia, and couldn’t believe the savory flavors that erupted in my mouth – sweet with red chili peppers. Everything was pan-fried and grilled to perfection. The street vendors served up the most amazing, aromatic dishes. Many of the ingredients were infused with lime leaves, lemon grass and garlic. The culinary scene in Los Angeles has now arrived: Simpang Asia. We started with an assortment of items. Beef and/or shrimp fried rice came in large portions, bursting with chunks of meat. Another meat lover’s favorite would be the jerk beef (Dendeng Balado) and the grilled chicken. The beef had a great texture, and the extremely spicy marinara sauce went well with steamed brown rice. The grilled chicken was massive and juicy with loads of flavor. Both dishes were served in black cast iron skillets. If you’re a vegan, they also have an amazing kale garlic stir fry that can go well with or without any main dish or entrée. Nasi Bungkus is the most exotic dish and everyone’s favorite – chicken curry, beef curry rendang, chili relish egg, light vegetable curry wrapped in banana leaves. They cover this traditional dish with wax paper and use rubber bands to hold it closed. Of course, we snapped our bands and were enamored as it unraveled itself. Other “honorable mentions” include the chicken satay and the fried calamari – for once, it was crunchy. Additionally, the restaurant is adjacent to an authentic Indonesian grocery store so you can grab a few ingredients on your way out. Furthermore, they have BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle) with no uncork fee. All in all, if you’re seeking a spot that mimics an authentic modern Indonesian cuisine with cafeteria-style seating, this is your place. simpangasia.com 38 360 MAGAZINE 360 MAGAZINE 39 2016 Bentley Continental GT Series Shin Takei 40 360 MAGAZINE 360 MAGAZINE 41 Bentley Motors chose Western Norway for the global launch location of the 2016 Continental GT series (Norway is known as the “Land of the Midnight Sun”). Since its introduction in 2003, the current version of the Continental GT has been renowned the world over as the ultimate Grand Touring car, with the performance, looks, power, comfort, superb build quality, history and heritage. The exterior has been enhanced across the range with more pronounced fender lines, smaller grille, vanes on the front bottom edge, wider stance and new 20” and 21” directional wheels. New badges and vents dress the front fenders. At the rear, the bumper and fenders have been widened. The boot lid now features an aerodynamic spoiler at the trailing edge, and a chrome garnish continues the chrome strip on the rocker panel, completing the circle. For the Continental GT Speed, the 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12 has been upgraded to 626 bhp with 607 lb-ft of torque with improved emissions and fuel efficiency. The Continental GT V8 S has 528 bhp and 502 lb-ft of torque. All Bentley Continental GT interiors are handcrafted, but the GT W12 and GT Speed can now be specified with the softer semi-aniline hide, the highest quality leather available. The headliner for the GT W12, GT V8 S and Speed coupes are available in Alcantara color matched to all interior colors. Furthermore, to push the envelope of bespoke personalization, the Mulliner Specification has designed the “cobra” seat with a clever color split around the seat back, which features a tighter quilt weave resulting in the seat resembling the menacing profile of the snake. There are infinite options for the interior as you can specify staggering choices of combinations so chances are that you won’t see another one just like yours. So why Norway? Norway has one of the best Grand Touring roads in the world where we were off on a 230-mile journey through some of the most beautiful and breathtaking scenery imaginable. Plus, we were delighted that there was no traffic except for well-behaved passive motorists and occasional farm equipment with no aggressive drivers like back home. The wonderfully well-paved smooth roads everywhere – without potholes or broken pavement – are proof that Norway is a wealthy country with its principal product being extracted from the oil derricks in the North Sea. We drove through roads next to fjords, gentle rolling hills, mountains and pastures where everything was green with dense forests and lush landscape. That pure clean air made us want to lower the top, but it was a bit too chilly for us. The Bentley Continental GT Speed Twin-Turbo W12 exhibited its true Grand Touring style as we passed the local folks with ease and enjoyed the true comfort that the W12 GT Speed offered. 42 360 MAGAZINE 360 MAGAZINE 43 Soon, we were driving the Trollstigen Mountain Road, a twisting, winding challenging road of tight hairpins and turns with an elevation of 2,815 ft. above sea level. Here, the Continental GT V8 S was at home with its lighter weight to accelerate, brake hard, turn in and accelerate out of each hairpin – a thrilling ride especially going downhill. In the background of steep rocks, water was gushing out everywhere, and spectacular waterfalls stole our glances. We then arrived at Angvik Gamle Handelssted, a coastal village overlooking the Tingvoll Fjord. The Bentley folks convinced the local authority to close a mountain pass approximately 5 miles in length: a closed private circuit. I chose the Continental GT V8 S for this dream-come-true portion of the drive. Even though the road was closed, I was in unfamiliar territory so I drove about 80% of the GT V8 Speed’s true potential. 44 360 MAGAZINE 360 MAGAZINE 45 Even so, with the suspension firmed up and the 8-speed automatic transmission in S mode, the permanent all-wheel drive with huge carbon-ceramic brakes allowed for very late braking and quick acceleration out of each corner while the car remained poised and stable the entire time. The thrill of being able to drive a car in this manner is a treat and a testament to the degree of refinement, which Bentley has committed to the Continental range. Experiencing the Bentley lifestyle and the 2016 Continental GT range on one of the best driving roads in the world, those memories have absolutely lingered, in true Grand Touring style. bentleymotors.com 46 360 MAGAZINE 360 MAGAZINE 47 martinmillersgin.com UNISEX CLOTHING FOR THOSE WHO STAY ABSURD! They were offering me the role, so I went to LA for 15 days to shoot the pilot. Then, I got The Following, and then, I got Elementary, and then, I got Orange Is the New Black,” adds Leyva, recalling her 20-year-long struggle before a huge career breakthrough (“Finally, the role came that was supposed to be my role. It’s almost like, all the stars were aligned – I was at the right place at the right time, and I was prepared”). 56 360 MAGAZINE 360 MAGAZINE 57 100% Lambskin Liris Coat: ESCADA $6,725.00 Jewelry: Gerard Yosca While she finished filming two movies Chapter & Verse (due out late this year) and Custody (will be released next year), and started shooting Orange season 4 (“My home for the next couple of months is definitely going to be behind bars,” laughs Leyva), she’s also been working with Rock the Vote, targeting the Latino community (“Especially after the comments made by Mr. Donald Trump, the only way we’re going to show that we are important to society and to the United States is that everyone needs to come out and vote. It doesn’t matter if you’re 18 or 65 or 105, vote”). On top of that, she started writing a column for the Huffington Post in early June, and her very first post was titled, “What Caitlyn Jenner’s Vanity Fair Cover Sparked For Me As Sister of Trans Woman.” “I remember watching the interview when Caitlyn was still Bruce Jenner before transitioning, and I was moved by that. And, I saw her cover. I got emotional, and then, the next day, I didn’t feel right. Something about it didn’t feel right. And, I realized that it wasn’t her moment that made me feel uncomfortable, it was this grandiose moment of Vanity Fair and this fashion moment, and the lights and the glitz and glamour of it,” Leyva elaborates. “That is not the reality of the transgender community. A very small percentage [of them] is living that kind of fabulousness and the kind of acceptance that Caitlyn Jenner and Laverne Cox and many others in the limelight have received. My sister still is ridiculed when she walks down the street. My sister can’t get a job yet. And, she is not the only one. I’m so happy for Caitlyn Jenner, but she was able to afford all these wonderful surgeries to complete her transition and to give her what she always dreamed of. And, there are some in the transgender community that don’t want those surgeries, but then, those that do – who would love that – can’t afford that because they can’t even get jobs. And yes, more conversations are being started. People are discussing it more but we can’t lose sight that the transgender community is still a community affected by hatred and ignorance.” “My sister was very grateful. My sister actually cried. And, she…,” Leyva suddenly pauses, getting incredibly teary. “She says she’s always been proud of me, but that was extra, that was extra special when she said, ‘Oh, my God, my friends are so happy, thank you!’ So I felt good without wanting to make a big deal about myself, it was just to shed light on this issue, and my sister was very proud of me. And, I’m in a position where people wanna listen to me. So, I have to take advantage of that,” adds Leyva with a warm chuckle. In order for all of us to equally embrace others, regardless of gender and sexual orientation, Leyva says, we have to focus on the youth through incorporating sexuality education in the curriculum: “We’re living in a time where finally people are able to come out and speak and live the way that it should be.” In the next 10 years, she’s eager to keep working/ writing as well as to direct, produce, play the role of La Lupe, and launch her own foundation that would help the transgender community, cancer research, children and the LGBT community. “And, yeah, I see myself living a really nice life in Malibu,” adds Leyva with a laugh. The blog post clearly encouraged the readers; she received a lot of great feedback on it. “The very young transgender community reached out to me, and mostly, African Americans and the Latino community. And, everyone across the board, I think, they were just thankful because they felt like, maybe they were going to be forgotten somehow, and that moment kind of reminded everyone that there are still thousands of people that suffer daily because they can’t live their truth.” 58 360 MAGAZINE 360 MAGAZINE 59 fresh. local. new york. That’s what I do in my videos. I make my own reality.” Petite Meller Born in Paris to a French mother and a Polish father but raised primarily by her grandmother, Meller grew up listening to a combination of Euro-pop and jazz musicians like Dizzy Gillespie and chanson singers like Jacques Brel, Charles Aznavour and Serge Gainsbourg. When she was 15, Meller moved with her parents to Tel Aviv. She filled her time going to jazz festivals and studying photography. Meller began playing in bands while in Tel Aviv, and then moved to New York to pursue her musical ambition. It was there she realized that she would have to go solo in order to stay true to her idiosyncratic vision. “I felt I wanted to do my own genre,” she says, “which is ‘nuovo jazzy-pop.’” She poured her own time and money into shooting her video for “NYC Time.” The video, which shows Meller being carried by a huge man from the suburbs into New York City, was cast under the streets of the city itself. Her most ambitious video to date “Baby Love” was filmed on location near Nairobi in Kenya; the video sees Meller imitating flamingos and dancing with schoolchildren and a pair of giraffes. “‘Baby Love’ was the first song I wrote after leaving New York,” she explains. “I went straight to Sweden and wrote it with Joakim Åhlund. He’s from the band Teddybears, and his brother Klas writes for Katy Perry. I was thinking about the video in the same moment. We felt like it was an African drum sound, so we knew the video would be in Africa.” “My mission in life is to make the songs and videos together,” she adds. “Everyone I work with is so right. I’ve been very lucky with the people I interact with. Together, we’re making an ongoing film of my life.” petitemeller.com 86 360 MAGAZINE 360 MAGAZINE 87 2015 Maserati Quattroporte GTS A Ferrari With Four Doors Shin Takei Maserati has been around for over a century as a car manufacturer starting in 1914. Back then, the Maserati brothers were into racing and competed in Grand Prix, rallies like Targa Florio and Mille Miglia. They even participated in endurance racing like the 24 Hours of Le Mans, even the Indianapolis 500 until their withdrawal from racing in 1957. Their history was at a peak in the sixties and early seventies with remarkablelooking designs coming out of Carrosserie (car design studios) like Bertone, Frua, Touring, Vignale and Zagato. Designers such as Alejandro de Tomaso, Marcello Gandini, Giorgetto Giugiaro, and Pininfarina contributed to the legacy. However, after that, the fortunes have been tumultuous at best until Fiat bought them outright in 1993 and Ferrari in 1999 (almost 11 years after the death of Enzo Ferrari). During his lifetime, Enzo Ferrari proclaimed that Ferrari would never build a 4-seater, and despite prototypes that appeared in major car shows, they still haven’t. How convenient was it then to buy out Maserati which already had the Quattroporte (meaning “four doors” in Italian) and install a Ferrari engine to power it? 88 360 MAGAZINE 360 MAGAZINE 89 The 2015 Maserati Quattroporte GTS is indeed a Ferrari with four doors and is quite sporting for a big luxury sedan. Powered by a 3.8-liter twinturbo V8 with 523 hp mated to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission with auto-adaptive software, the GTS can get from 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds with a top speed of 190 mph. From the outside, the Quattroporte looks aggressive yet clean with the familiar oval grill sporting a large Trident logo with a smooth but muscular skin all the way back. The traditional trio of air vents is still on the front fenders, and the iconic Saetta logo adorns the triangular C-pillar. The optional 21” sport wheels with a choice of five colors for the brake caliper complete the long-wheelbase chassis. 90 360 MAGAZINE 360 MAGAZINE 91 Step inside and the rich aroma of Poltrona Frau premium fine grain leather tickles your olfactory nerves, and the simple, clean and clutter-free dashboard is conservative yet elegant. In addition to the electronically adjustable steering wheel and the 12way adjustable seats, the power-adjustable foot pedals make it possible for any driver to find the right driving position. There are infinite combinations of leather choices and accents from wood to carbon-fiber to choose from. In the center console is the MTC (Maserati Touch Control) 8.4” touch screen display which incorporates navigation, radio, CD/DVD, audio/video player, SD card reader, USB, Aux-in, Apple chip, Bluetooth function for audio streaming, climate controls, phone devices and car setup. There’s even in-car Wi-Fi. 92 360 MAGAZINE 360 MAGAZINE 93 However, compared to other sports sedans in this segment, the Quattroporte GTS is curiously devoid of some luxury features standard on even lesser class cars. These would be soft close doors and trunk (although the latter could be attributed to the surprisingly light weight of the lid). Other features missing are lane departure controls, blind spot monitors, side-view mirrors that dip when reversing, and adaptive cruise control. We have two possible theories behind this: The first one is obviously to save weight. The second reason would be that these luxury features can make the driver a little lazy and numb, “de-tuning” him/her from being precise, sensitive, responsive and alert to drive a demanding sports car like a Ferrari, or any other car. In other words, the GTS is not your fuzzy sports sedan but a serious driver’s car. The steering is heavy, precise and has lots of road feel, and the acceleration is brisk. In Sports Mode, the accelerator mapping, engine, MSP (Maserati Stability Program) system, exhaust system and transmission are all enhanced including the terrific sound as you drive away. Additionally, the Skyhook electronically controlled suspension can be programmed for aggressive cornering and makes the big sedan a thrill to drive fast anywhere. 94 360 MAGAZINE 360 MAGAZINE 95 We have just one gripe. The turn signal lever is behind the paddle shifters and is too far from the steering wheel that it may require taking the left hand off to reach it. However, all in all, the 2015 Maserati Quattroporte GTS is exactly what executives that own Maserati and Ferrari sports cars drive every day. Even Enzo Ferrari would have approved. maserati.com SPOTLIGHT ON: That Poppy That Poppy grew up in Nashville, surrounded by music. Her father was a drummer in a punk band, and her brother followed suit, drumming for multiple groups at once. Despite her percussive roots, That Poppy had a different passion: “I was a dancer for 11 years,” she remembers. “That was my first love. But when I was in middle school, I started to get made fun of a lot, and music became my outlet.” To cope, That Poppy began writing lyrics in her journal and listening to bands like Jimmy Eat World, No Doubt and Blondie. Finally, when it came time to choose between dancing and music, That Poppy “fell in love with singing.” Her love for music has only grown since then; she now has hundreds of journals full of song ideas and melodies. That Poppy’s world is certainly a colorful one, filled with roller-skating, hair dye and the latest documentaries. She loves purple and pop/rock, and often draws on J-pop, which is “drastically different from K-pop,” for inspiration. “On the surface, it looks innocent and cute, but there’s definitely a darker undertone,” she says of the Japanese genre. “That really connects with personality.” 96 360 MAGAZINE Her music exhibits the same dichotomy. Reggae-inspired beats, punky rock riffs and a candy-sweet pop sensibility infuse each of her tunes, co-existing in a wholly enigmatic manner. Her songs are irresistibly catchy, but cheeky lyrics add a depth and complexity rarely found in traditional pop songs. That Poppy is, moreover, all about self-expression. “I write songs because I have a lot of feelings,” she says, gushing about the opportunity to continue making music and share it with people. “I want people to be able to relate to what I’m talking about because I have something to say.” Her aesthetic definitely says a lot. She’s undeniably adorable, with anime eyes and pale hair, but her Instagram posts and YouTube videos also showcase an affinity for the uncanny and bizarre. She is an enigma, endlessly mysterious and fascinating. In fact, when asked to describe herself, That Poppy says she’s “made of diamonds.” Whether or not it’s true, she certainly shines. thatpoppy.com bigshotbikes.com The Girl Next Door Photography: Kristyna Archer @kristynaarcher Model: Eve Speciall at Ford Models Art Direction: Michael Mann Stylist: Lindsey Nolan @lindseynolanstyling Hair + Makeup: Tami Shirey @tksmakeup Top: Charles Henry Jacket: Wayf Skirt: Calvin Rucker Tights: Topshop Shoes: L.A.M.B. If that day ever arrives, I’ll stop DJ’ing and just ride bikes, cook and do the gardening. But until that day comes, I’ll be the one turning up the bass to max,” states Grammy-winning EDM icon Benny Benassi on his future goals. “I’ve always wanted to be a DJ ever since I was a teenager, and I started in a club near where I lived with my parents in Reggio Emilia. One thing led to another – I was lucky enough to have a cousin, Alle Benassi, who’s a talented musician, and I got him into producing electronic music on a computer,” Benassi looks back. “We became a production team, and things got better. I started my career as a house DJ. Alle is a classically trained musician, and when he started making music with me, he had a weak spot for techno music. Reggio Emilia had an amazing output of Italian house productions, so there was already a scene.” 108 360 MAGAZINE 360 MAGAZINE 109 Since the late ‘80s, Benny and Alle Benassi have been known as Benassi Bros. (“‘Benassi Bros’ sounds better than ‘Benassi Cousins,’” according to Benny Benassi), and worked together on smash hits like Benny’s “Satisfaction,” Chris Brown’s “Beautiful People” and “Don’t Wake Me Up,” and Madonna’s “Girl Gone Wild.” (Just so you know, Benny Benassi is hoping to collaborate with Kanye West and Bono from U2, soon.) Other than making music, Benny Benassi has another passion: cycling. “I got my first professional bicycle when I was 8. My father was and still is very passionate about cycling, as is everyone in the family – uncles, cousins and relatives,” he describes. “We all lived in the same house, and if I try to count the number of bikes, there were at least 15! On Saturdays and Sundays, my father took me into the hills with his bike team. That’s where it all started.” In 2010, moreover, he launched a major West Coast club tour on a fixed-gear bicycle – the Benny Benassi Bike Tour: A Musical Ride Through California…Without Breaks. “A few years ago, on vacation in California, I stumbled upon the beautiful coast road near Big Sur,” recalls Benassi. “So I decided to go back there with my bike and ended up riding from San Francisco to San Diego with a crew of friends from Italy, filming and photographing the whole tour. We invited the fans to ride with us here and there. It was amazing!” He may or may not do the bike tour again: “I have a close friend who often cycles coast to coast. For now, it’s just a conversation.” Working with World Bicycle Relief, after his 2010 bike tour, Benassi provided over 45 bikes to students in Africa. Throughout the years, furthermore, he has also supported MusiCares Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund and CharityStars. “I just did a show called ‘Zero,’ in my hometown of Reggio Emilia in Italy. Part of that show involved projecting images from the GAIA project by Guy Lalibertè, founder of Cirque du Soleil and the One Drop Foundation whose mission is to bring water to those communities on the planet that have drastic shortages,” adds Benassi. 110 360 MAGAZINE 360 MAGAZINE 111 Overall, the year of 2015 has been going “pretty well” so far for Benassi, whose last studio album was 2011’s Electroman. “Alle and I are working on new music. I’ll be releasing individual tracks from the album as singles, leading up to the release,” explains the 48-year-old EDM maestro, who recently dropped a new song “Who I Am” with Marc Benjamin featuring Christian Burns. Since he obviously has so many exciting projects in the works, would we ever see something like Benassi’s own clothing line coming up? “I wouldn’t say I’m picky [about what to wear] so much as I simply take pleasure in choosing my clothes! Nothing too obsessive, though,” he says. “I don’t know about a clothing line but I have launched a line of headphones with RCF (Iconica series)!” bennybenassi.com 112 360 MAGAZINE makersmark.com AdventureSmith Explorations Expands Program in Pacific, Now Offers New Zealand’s Most Diverse Small Ship Cruising Collection 114 360 MAGAZINE Small ship cruise expert AdventureSmith Explorations is showcasing three new vessels and four new cruise itineraries in New Zealand that would yield the most diverse, well-rounded complement of cruise options in the region. “These new cruises round out our current New Zealand program to offer AdventureSmith Explorations’ travelers the widest variety of ship sizes, itineraries and price ranges available,” explained Todd Smith, founder. Lymphatic massage is a special form of massage that specifically targets the flow of lymph in the body. It uses a specific amount of pressure and rhythmic circular movements to stimulate the lymph, encouraging its movement towards the heart for the drainage of fluid and waste. Lymphatic massage has shown in studies to push up to 78 percent of stagnant lymph back into circulation. This mobilizes toxins for clearance, lessening the burden on the lymphatic system. GOJI BERRY SMOOTHIE INGREDIENTS: • 2 Cups of Almond Milk • 1 Tablespoon of Hemp Seeds • 2 Tablespoon of Goji Berries • 1 Tsp of Moringa Powder • 1 Tsp of Chia Seeds • 2 Green Apples BL E ND I T U P! • #2 REBOUNDING is one of the easiest ways to pump the lymph. Rebounding is the practice of jumping on a trampoline (yes, remember when we did this for fun!?) for ten to thirty minutes. This passively moves the lymph while stimulating the circulation of blood throughout the body. Numerous studies have proven its efficacy, and have even shown it to improve muscle tone. 1 Tsp of Coconut Shreds Unsweetend to Top Smoothie #4 #3 ENZYMES are produced by the body to break down food substances and to expedite countless metabolic processes. They are also utilized by the body to clear toxic-waste buildup in the lymph and blood, making their supplementation a key way to improve lymphatic health. Using proteolytic enzymes between meals can help to “digest” or breakdown organic debris in the circulatory and lymph systems, increasing lymphatic flow. They also help to ease the burden of allergy-like compounds, freeing the immune fractions traveling in the lymph system for other work. Incorporating RAW FOODS into the diet is an easy way to keep the lymphatic system healthy on an ongoing basis. Raw foods offer high levels of naturally occurring enzymes that break down toxic buildups and promote the clearance of harmful substances in the body. Eating foods raw, in particular fruits and vegetables, is also a great way to boost the water levels in the body. Finally, raw foods are primarily alkaline, which help neutralize harmful pathogens, lessening the burden on the lymph. #5 Lymph is about 95% water, making water essential for its health. STAY HYDRATED by drinking half your weight in ounces of water a day. Without adequate water, lymphatic fluid cannot flow properly. And one of the most common causes of lymph congestion is dehydration. Water, and only water, can adequately rehydrate the body, but if you want to expedite the process, add lemon to your water. Lemon is an alkaline fruit that helps to mineralize the body and lymph. Try sipping on warm lemon water throughout the day. nautica.com Annie@ Charle sChe n.tv F ac ebo o k.c om/Cha rle sChe nTV Twitter.c o m/ Cha rle sChe nTV Yo uTube.c o m/c/Cha rle sChe nTV Pinter est.c o m /Cha rle sChe nTV Char l esChen.tv givenchy.com T:12” LUXURY THAT’S APPROACHABLE, AT LEAST WHEN IT’S IN PARK.
