Eliza Series
If there was one type of kayak that could meld sea touring hull
design with the stability and comfort of a recreational kayak, the
Manitou series is it. These super sleek, clean-lined kayaks have
an integral keel which provides the new or experienced paddler an
outstanding blend of tracking, balance and maneuverability, even
in windy conditions. The Manitous have amazingly quiet glide, and
high volume bows for drier rides in rough water and added sense of
security. They are at home on a calm lake, or rough coastline. It’s
hard to think of a more well-rounded series!
Designed to fit and perform for smaller paddlers (up to 150 lbs),
these boats are ergonomically designed around a woman’s hip and
leg physiology, and overall body proportion. The low aft deck offers
optimum room for sculling, rolling, surf ability, and bracing. These
are not just low volume versions of a popular hull! They are designed
from the start with an exceptional balance of glide, maneuverability
and reduced drag from frictional resistance and wind. So to sum
it up: the Eliza is quintessentially the best kayak on the market for
women to paddle efficiently, with less effort, less resistance, and less
energy. Finally… a kayak that puts women at the front of the pack!
Looksha Series
These are outstanding sea touring kayaks with excellent tracking,
performance, glide, and overall handling characteristics. The
longer models are popular with multi-day sea kayakers, pro
expedition kayakers, outdoor programs, and tour companies, while
the shorter models (12-14) provide touring kayak characteristics
with increased stability. The latter are popular for day tours and
shorter overnights. Each Looksha is shaped and meticulously
constructed with all-day comfort and enough room for all the
gear a trip calls for. These models are long-time favorites in the
San Juan Islands, Inside Passage, Coastal Maine and Nova Scotia
where the ability to carry lots of gear, handle rough water and
cover tons of miles effectively are highly valued.
Chatham Series
Greenland inspired coastal play boats built to tame the biggest
conditions – high winds, surf, and tidal races. Their hard chined/
soft edged hulls offer the ultimate in stability and handling on edge
to dig in and out of rock gardens or taking that unexpected wave.
Our design team thought of everything from offering outstanding
neutrality in wind to help reduce weather-cocking to placing the
recessed compass mount in a location that reduces sea sickness.
Equally at home on Vancouver’s West Coast, playing in the 8+ knot
currents of Deception Pass, or camping along the Maine Island
Trail, Chathams are the ultimate performers in rough water
conditions where high wind and rough seas prevail.
