Top secret innovation.
In the 30’s Ole Bardahl emigrated from Norway and through his racing involvement
developed a revolutionary lubricating concept based on the reversal of polar
attraction in oil molecules. No matter the mechanical system Polar Plus leaves
an anti-friction, anti-wear and extreme pressure film on all the moving metal
components. The product was so miraculous that the American army decided to
classify it as top secret until the end of the Second World War. BARDAHL products
appeared in France in 1954 where they are now developed for industrial, automobile,
agricultural and do-it-yourself use.

industrial companies. BARDAHL laboratories have been
developing solutions for 70 years which meet the ever more
strict technological requirements. This permanent research is
based on laboratory tests, engine trials, OEM approvals, etc.

BARDAHL controls its processes from the
conception of the formulas to the distribution of
finished products, with a constant will to improve
the quality. This achievement can be seen in
continuous industrial investments and rigorous

The ISO 14001 certification of our plant in Tournai plus the
development of more ecological products and the use of
inert propellant gas protect the environment and truly

To go further, we have embarked on a patronage
programme with the French Forest National Office
(Office National des Forêts) and have started a
voluntary three-year programme to reforest
state-owned woods in Retz in the Aisne (France).
We contribute therefore to carbon dioxide
sequestration and the reduction of greenhouse gases.

PROOFS
The use of lubricants is necessary to:
Controlled efficiency
• Facilitate sliding between two moving machine parts.
• Avoid seizure even under heavy loads.
The efficiency of a lubricant can be established by many performance tests.
• Reduce and avoid premature wear of equipment.
• Protect machine parts from oxidation and corrosion.
Among them, the 4 ball test which shows best the “extreme pressure” and
“anti-wear” performance.
• Avoid overheating and eliminate excess heat generated by friction. • Improve water proofing and protection from other external pollutants.
The results of BARDAHL lubricants are always exceptional thanks to the
BARDAHL “POLAR PLUS” film and the “FULLERENE C60” principle.
The BARDAHL “POLAR PLUS” principle
Bardahl lubricants are formulated from “polar active” agents. Those components behave like micro-magnets.
They are attracted by metal surfaces on which they adhere to form an extremely resistant lubricating film.
This molecular film prevents damage generated by the ‘rough surfaces’ on metal parts which cause early
wear and seizure.
Metal parts come into contact with each
other through the ‘rough peaks’ on their
surfaces and it’s these peaks that bear all
the load and pressure which in turn
causes undue wear and eventual seizure.

BARDAHL has been the first company in the world to apply the Fullerene chemistry to the lubricants field.
We used the fact that Fullerene spheres act like extremely stable micro-bearings: coming between
surfaces in contact, they assist lubricity and reduce friction.
The BARDAHL formula is particularly efficient in difficult lubricating conditions:
• Cold starts (mainly responsible for wear)
• Difficult working conditions
Laboratory tests have shown that the BARDAHL FULLERENE formula can reduce friction and wear by up
to 70 % at ‘start up’ and by up to 34 % while running at normal temperature.

• The “POLAR PLUS” molecules form a line of second defence
to protect from wear, because they reduce friction and
deposits.
• Moreover, Bardahl has used C60 Fullerene in its formula:
Fullerene molecules act like spherical micro-cushions giving
