Page 16 C L U B N E W S Letter from your General Manager August 20, 2012 Dear Lehigh Country Club Members: WHERE HAS THE SUMMER GONE??? Not too long ago we were preparing for “Father’s Day” and now we are preparing for “Labor Day” and getting the kids ready for “Back to School”. Thank you to those members who responded to our mid-summer and restaurant surveys. Your responses are extremely helpful. Your opinions enable us to better serve the membership. Additional surveys regarding the pool and children’s summer camps will also be sent to you shortly. This summer we have a unique situation with regards to the pool; due to the high schools starting prior to Labor Day we are reaching out to neighboring aquatic centers for extra help at the pool. Our concern is, the week prior to Labor Day; with lack of lifeguards, it may be necessary to reduce the operating hours. You will be notified of this if necessary. On Monday, September 10th and 17th, a contractor will be repairing/recoating the walkways at the tennis area. If you are at the Club on either one of those days, please avoid walking on the walkways. We received many positive comments regarding the new menu designs; thanks to Janine Sarmir, evening receptionist and Chef Hardy. To quote a recent survey response form a one-year member: Survey question: In what areas do you feel Lehigh Country Club is particularly strong? In other words, in what way is it better than most of the similar clubs? Survey response: Member cordiality, staff excellent – best staff I have ever been privileged to help me enjoy myself. I’m amazed so many know my name already. Staff is your strongest asset. This season has been very busy, exciting and very successful thanks to our dedicated staff and you – the members. Needless to say, our year-round full time staff are the best and this year our seasonal staff were great also. When I say this, I am not limiting my comments to the restaurant. I include the grounds seasonal staff including the H2B fellows from Mexico. I am also including the pool, kid’s camp staff, tennis and golf staff. Everyone learned quickly and fit in beautifully. This all starts with the hiring process; I compliment the department heads and Jen Felegy. These are the people who make the choices that result in happy employees and happy members. Great job kids!!! Sincerely, Zen Page 17 C L U B N E W S LEHIGH COUNTRY CLUB WELCOMES NEW MEMBERS July 2012 Junior member, Dr. Jack Basile, and his wife Marcie joined Lehigh in July.
