CITY OF PARKERSBURG
MARCH 14, 2016 MINUTES
The City Council of the City of Parkersburg,
Iowa met in special session on Monday, March
14, 2016, at 5:00 P.M. at Parkersburg City
Hall. Council members present: Bruns, Knock,
Schuck, Thorne, and Timmer. Mayor Perry Bernard presiding.
There was a motion by Timmer, seconded by
Thorne to open the public hearing for the purpose of approving Resolution 944 adopting the
fiscal year 2017 budget. Upon vote, all ayes. No
oral or written comments were received for or
against the proposed budget. There was a motion by Schuck, seconded by Knock to close the
public hearing. Upon vote, all ayes.
There was discussion regarding the budget
and the efforts by city departments to keep
costs down while providing the highest quality
of services to the public. There was also discussion about the planning efforts implemented to project future capital project spending
and budgeting accordingly ahead of time to
accomplish the city’s goals. There was a motion by Bruns, seconded by Thorne to adopt
Resolution 944 approving the fiscal year 2017
budget which reduces property taxes and the
tax levy for the city’s portion of property tax requested from $14.14/$1000 taxable valuation
to $13.91/$1000 valuation. Upon vote, all ayes.
There was a motion by Schuck, seconded by
Bruns that the meeting adjourn. Upon vote, all
ayes.

• Officers executed a traffic stop, assisted with three medical
calls, and received a report of four
controlled burns.
• 9:59 a.m.: Officers received a burglary report in the 700 block of Pine
St., Allison. Deemed unfounded.
• 12:18 p.m.: Officers received a report of a possible scam in the 00 block
of High School Blvd., Greene.
• 12:46 p.m.: Officers received a
report of a possible scam in the 200
block of w. Washington St., Shell
Rock.
• 1:44 p.m.: Officers were called to a
dog/deer/livestock matter in the 30700
block of Deer Trail.
• 4:32 p.m.: Officers received a harassment report in the 1200 block of
Florence St., Parkersburg.
• 8:19 p.m.: Officers received a burglary report in the 100 block of Main
St., Allison. Deemed unfounded.
Tuesday, March 15:
• Officers assisted with 10 medical
calls and received a report of a con-

• 9:28 a.m.: Officers transported a
subject.
• 10:39 a.m.: Officers were called to
a dog/deer/livestock matter near the
intersection of W. Broadway St. and
Cedar Ave.
• 12:30 p.m.: Officers were called to
a single vehicle property damage accident in the 12900 block of Birch Ave.
• 4:44 p.m.: Officers received a report of a possible fraud in the 13600
block of 260th St., Ackley.
Wednesday, March 16:
• Officers executed 13 traffic stops,
assisted with three medical calls, and
received a report of a controlled burn.
• 12:43 a.m.: Officers were called to
an assault in the 100 block of N. 2nd
St., Marble Rock.
• 6:20 a.m.: Officers received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the
11100 block of Oak Ave.
• 7:34 a.m.: Officers received a report of a possible burglary in the 500
block of S. Fulton St., Shell Rock. No
report filed.
• 11 a.m.: Officers received a report
of a possible fraud in the 25400 block
of Birch Ave.
• 4:54 p.m.: Officers received a report of a property damage accident in
the 100 block of N. Main St., Clarksville.
Thursday, March 17:
• Officers executed five traffic stops,
assisted with four medical calls, and
received reports of two controlled
burns.
• 12:42 a.m.: Officers received a report of a possible vehicle theft in the
100 block of S. Main St.
• 4:43 p.m.: Officers received a report of a possible fraud in the 1000
block of Railroad St.
• 6:57 p.m.: Officers were called to
a family domestic matter in the 400
block of Spruce St.
Friday, March 18:
• Officers executed 15 traffic stops,
assisted with seven medical calls, assisted a motorist, and received reports
of 13 controlled burns.

REGULAR MEETING OF THE BUTLER
COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS HELD
ON MARCH 8, 2016.
Meeting called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Rusty Eddy with members Rex Ackerman
and Tom Heidenwirth present. Also present
were Engineer John Riherd, Sheriff Jason
Johnson and Fern Myers, Allison, Iowa.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read
and approved as read.
Moved by Ackerman, second by Heidenwirth
to approve application for Class C Liquor License with Outdoor Service and Sunday Sales
for Beaver Meadows Golf & Country Club,
Parkersburg, Iowa. Motion carried.
Moved by Heidenwirth, second by Eddy to
approve application for Class C Liquor License
with Outdoor Service and Sunday Sales for
Round Grove Golf & Country Club, Greene,
Iowa. Motion carried.
Board met with Connie Rottink, Butler County
Wellness Committee to request a blood draw
for employees and family members on County insurance. Moved by Ackerman, second by
Heidenwirth to approve with a tentative date of
April 7, 2016 from 6:15 A.M. to 8:00 A.M. Motion
carried.
Board held Public Hearing on proposed
FY17 County Budget. Present were Engineer
John Riherd, Sheriff Jason Johnson, Recorder
Janice Jacobs, Larry Betts and Lori Peterson,
Clarksville, Iowa and Fern Myers, Allison, Iowa.

Fiscal Year July 1, 2016 – June 30, 2017
At the meeting of the Board of Supervisors
of this County, held after public hearing as re-
quired by law on March 8, 2016, the proposed
budget for July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017, was
approved and adopted as summarized and tax
levies were approved for all taxable property of
this County.
