Venture off the beaten
path to Butler Winery &
Vineyards. Butler Winery &
Vineyards, founded by
father and son, John and
Jim Butler, opened in 1983
and is the fourth-oldest
winery in Indiana. Today,
the third generation is

growing and wine making.
Butler Vineyard is home to chambourcin, chardonel,

distinctive character of the wines comes from the hand
crafted, small batch production.

Dan and Donna Adams established Winzerwald
Winery in 2002 on a picturesque hill in the Hoosier
National Forest overlooking Interstate 64. The name,
Winzerwald, is German for “vintners of the forest” and
honors the family’s German heritage. Dan’s great
great grandfather Jacob Loesch was a winemaker
and cooper (wine barrel craftsman). A limited edition
wine called Heirloom is made from grapes that
family lore says were brought to the US by him
when he emigrated from Germany. Experts have
been unable to identify the grape variety.
Also find a host of German award winning
favorites including Pinot Noir, Riesling,
Gewurztraminer, May Wine, Gluhwein
and a large selection of fruit wines.
Enjoy free wine tastings, shop for gifts,
relax in the wine garden amidst a
beautiful hilly forested setting or visit for
dinner concerts or wine and food events.

At Turtle Run Winery,
the overall goal is to
produce exceptional
quality wines to go
with food and friends.
A visit to the winery and
vineyard is an experience in the
art of winemaking. Step inside
the production area and
witness first hand the pressing
of the grapes, the blending
and filtering of wines, or even
the mad dash of bottling!
Quality is Turtle Run Winery’s first passion. Having fun is the
second. Throughout the year, regular events are conducted
including concerts during the summer and fall and wine
appreciation classes to teach the intricacies of wine tasting.
Please feel welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy the relaxed
atmosphere and surroundings at Turtle Run Winery.
