Show Originates from College Football Hall of Fame for First Time
Home Depot College Football Awards
The Home Depot 25th Anniversary College Football Awards took place at the College Football
Hall of Fame in Atlanta on Dec. 10, 2015, and aired live on ESPN. The show highlighted the
achievements of college football’s top student-athletes from the 2015 season, including William
V. Campbell Trophy recipient Ty Darlington from Oklahoma. The event marked the beginning of
a multi-year agreement to host the show at the Hall.

2015 Class Honored at Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl
2015 Hall of Fame Class Honored
The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame partnered with the
Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl to host the 11th Annual NFF National Hall of Fame Salute
on Dec. 31 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. The event honored the 2015 College
Football Hall of Fame Class on the field between the third and fourth quarters
of the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, which saw No. 18 Houston upset No. 9 Florida
State, 38-24. The 2015 Hall of Famers were also honored during a ceremony officially unveiling the Class Blade at the state-of-the-art College Football Hall of
Fame in Atlanta.

Induction was Kickoff Event for CFP Championship Weekend
Arizona Governor Doug Ducey and Arizona Cardinals President Michael Bidwill claimed honors
together as the newest inductees into the NFF Leadership Hall of Fame on Jan. 7 at the Arizona
Biltmore. Their induction marked the second year of a new tradition with an NFF Leadership Hall of
Fame event serving as the kickoff event for the College Football Playoff (CFP) National Championship weekend in the host city of the title game.

2016 College Football Hall of Fame Class Announced and Honored
The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame staged several major events leading up
to the College Football Playoff (CFP) National Championship, which saw No. 2 Alabama beat No. 1
Clemson, 45-40, on Jan. 11 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. On Jan. 8, the NFF
announced the 2016 College Football Hall of Fame Class in front of the national media assembled
at the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn in Arizona to cover the title game.
NFF Chairman Archie Manning and CFP Executive Director Bill Hancock joined ESPN broadcaster
Joe Tessitore to make the announcement, which aired live on ESPNU. Randall Cunningham (UNLV)
and Pat McInally (Harvard) attended the announcement while Derrick Brooks (Florida State) and
Rod Woodson (Purdue) called in live to the press conference, representing the class and sharing
their thoughts on induction. The announcement marked the second year of a new tradition where
the NFF unveils the new Hall of Fame class on the Friday before the title game at the media hotel
in the host city.

The 2016 College Football Hall of Fame Class includes Marlin Briscoe (Nebraska Omaha), Derrick
Brooks (Florida State), Tom Cousineau (Ohio State), Randall Cunningham (UNLV), Troy Davis (Iowa
State), William Fuller (North Carolina), Bert Jones (LSU), Tim Krumrie (Wisconsin), Pat McInally
(Harvard), Herb Orvis (Colorado), Bill Royce (Ashland [Ohio]), Mike Utley (Washington State), Scott
Woerner (Georgia), Rod Woodson (Purdue), and coaches Bill Bowes (New Hampshire) and Frank
Girardi (Lycoming [Pa.]). The 2016 Class will officially be inducted into the College Football Hall of
Fame during the 59th NFF Annual Awards Dinner on Dec. 6 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.

Jones, McInally and Woodson represented the 2016 College Football Hall of Fame Class during
the coin toss at the CFP National Championship. The NFF also honored 2015 NFF Campbell Trophy
recipient Ty Darlington during the break between the first and second quarters, and he was joined
on the field by NFF President & CEO Steve Hatchell and NFF COO Matthew Sign.
