MCoR 2015 - College of Radiology
MALAYSIAN CONGRESS OF RADIOLOGY Date: 21-23 August 2015 Venue: The Everly Hotel, Putrajaya Organiser: PROGRAMME In collaboration with: 1 2015 MALAYSIAN CONGRESS OF RADIOLOGY MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE COLLEGE OF RADIOLOGY, ACADEMY OF MEDICINE OF MALAYSIA Dear Colleagues, It is my great honor and pleasure to welcome you to another edition of Malaysian Congress of Radiology (MCoR). College of Radiology Malaysia has always been known for excellence in academic activities. Back to back with MCoR is EUSOBI-Malaysia Breast MRI Training Course 2015. Not to forget the just concluded and highly successful 13th Asian Breast Diseases Association (ABDA) Teaching Course. The Organising Committee has put up a very high quality scientific sessions that will provide a great opportunity for all participants to keep up-to-date with the latest in radiology. The panel of speakers - both international and local - are very impressive. With participants coming from different countries and different types of practice, MCoR also serves as a platform for exchanging ideas. It also offers participants a chance to socialize and interact with colleagues and friends from all parts of the world. I would like to thank Dr Amir and his team for a job well done. On a related matter, by next year, the new Medical Act 1971 (Amendment 2012) would have been enforced. CPD points will become a requirement to renew your APC and to re-validate your NSR. CoR strongly support this policy and CoR will be the sole custodian of CPD points monitoring for all private radiologists and university lecturers. For those in government service, you will continue on the existing e-CPD system. CoR is now 400+ strong in memberships. However, there are still many radiologists, oncologists and nuclear medicine physicians that are not CoR members. I urge them to join us - not just because there is strength in unity - but because someone has to monitor their CPD points. Next year, MCoR will be held together with Special AOSPR Congress 2016 from 10-12 Oct 2016. The venue is Kuching, Sarawak. Preparation is already underway and it looks like this will be another success. Just a reminder, CoR will be hosting AAR - Asean Association of Radiology - in August 2017. The venue is yet to be determined but it will be back in Kuala Lumpur. Enjoy the Conference and enjoy Putrajaya! Regards, Abdul Rahman Mohamad President 2012 - 2016 College of Radiology Acedemy of Medicine of Malaysia 1 MESSAGE FROM THE ORGANISING CHAIRMAN Dear Colleagues and Friends, On behalf of the College of Radiology, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia, I am very honoured to welcome everyone to the Malaysian Congress of Radiology (MCOR) 2015. For this congress, the organising committee has come up with multi-thematic lecture sessions which will be chaired by the special interest groups (SIG) of the college. There are also professorial lectures by two of our esteemed local university radiology professors and talks by medical physicists discussing the latest in research and innovations. You can also look forward to the oral and poster presentations, special teaching sessions for trainee radiologists and the annual inter-varsity postgraduate radiology quiz. On top of all that, participants can indulge in the trade exhibition with participation from our industrial partners and a scrumptious congress dinner on the 2nd day. As this congress is held concurrently with the European Society of Breast Imaging (EUSOBI) Malaysia Breast MRI Training Course, there is a shared session on the first day where a lecture of advances in breast imaging will be presented. I hope everyone will have a great time keeping up with the latest in radiology and also meeting up with members of our fraternity from all over the country. Also, don’t forget to do some sightseeing. Putrajaya is a city with beautiful lakeside parks, bridges, interesting architecture and many other attractions that you can explore. I also would like to take this opportunity to thank all our organising committee members and everyone who have helped in any way in making this year’s congress a reality.
