I am delighted to announce
that this year, 3 of our swimming gala entrants, have
made it through to the finals of
the borough-wide primary
1.
1 tbsp tarragon or cider vinegar
2.
2 tsp Dijon mustard
3.
2 tbsp olive oil
4.
2 tbsp. rape seed oil
5.
1 tsp honey
6.
flaked sea salt and freshly
ground black pepper
Congratulations and best of luck to the following children
who will be competing in the events listed below:
Oliver (Rowan class) Freestyle Year 4 Boys
Imogen (Rowan class) Freestyle Year 4 Girls
Alexandra (Larch class) Freestyle Year 6 Girls
Alexandra (Larch class) Butterfly Year 6 Girls.
7.
900g/2lb new potatoes, such as
Jersey Royals or Charlotte, washed
or scrubbed
The final takes place next Thursday at 7pm at Trinity
School, Shirley. I will update you on how the children
progressed next week.
8.
1 tbsp chopped
fresh tarragon leaves
9.
1 large shallot, finely chopped
2 tbsp chopped cornichons or gherkins
(optional)
Method
Place the vinegar, mustard, oils, honey and
salt and pepper in a screw-top jar or in the
bowl of a small hand blender. Shake or blend
well until creamy. Add more seasoning if preferred. Cook the potatoes in boiling salted
water for about 15-20 minutes until just tender. Drain well and, when just cool enough to
handle, cut into halves or quarters, if quite
large. Place the potatoes in a mixing bowl
with the tarragon, shallots, cornichons or
gherkins and toss in as much or as little of
the dressing as you want. Serve just warm
or, if you're not eating straight away, refrigerate and return the salad to room temperature before eating.
Enjoy!!!
school swimming gala.
Sports Relief 21 -23 March
I am sure many of you have been following
Davina McCall's exploits in awe this week as she
has run, swam and cycled from Edinburgh to
London in aid of Sports Relief. As a school, we
will be participating in our own sporting challenge to raise
money for this worthy cause. Children and teaching teams
will be running, jogging or walk/jogging a mile around the
infant school grounds. Parents and carers will be asked to
contribute £1 or more in support.
