T
he Enough Said women’s softball team has come a
long way since their inception. It all started as an
idea from Head Coach Ian Houston, blossoming into
one of the best teams in the history of the sport.
The Beginning:
Like all new softball teams just starting out, challenges
arose. Team member selection took over a year because it
was position specific. Players were recruited nationally who
not only had talent, but also willingly sacrificed financially
knowing the team’s lack of financial assistance. The uniforms
were adequate, but nothing special. The equipment used was
whatever they could find. Sponsorships were few and far
between and most of the team’s tournaments were in Florida.
But the one thing they did have was team talent and chemistry. This team was full of seasoned veterans who knew the
game and were pushed to excel. No matter whom the opponent, the team rose to the challenge to claim victory. With the
talent assembled, championships soon began to follow.
Championships were won by the blood, sweat and tears they
shed at every tournament. More importantly, by the discipline
each lady possessed.
The ladies of the team, who lived in different parts of the
United States, had to practice on their own; knowing the
expectation level of their coach was extremely high. The discipline was paramount, as the starting line-up was performance driven.

defense, your playing time was limited. “‘Defense wins championships’ is another statement that was always
heard by the team,” notes Sirene Johnson.
“Offensively, players had to be an accomplished
batter because muscle memory hitting drills were
all they practiced at tournaments to conserve
energy for games. It was a different type of team
with a different type of mentality.”
“Our team’s character mimicked that of our
coach, who still preaches toughness, effort, and
discipline,” said Tonja Russell, “Perpetuating all of

these while displaying good character and having a good attitude.”
“We continuously strive to always have the best sportsmanship of any
team in a respective tournament,” adds Coach Houston. “It’s a great feeling to have opposing players, umpires and tournament officials comment
not only on our excellent play, but our good behavior.” The players on this
team know what it takes to be a champion.
This is a different type of team that focused on winning softball games
and enjoyed playing with their teammates. Socializing in the beginning
was minimal at best, as the team was digging into their own individual
finances to play the game they loved. “It was actually very business-like
as our pleasure came from knowing we didn’t let our teammates down,”
said Dee Williams. “We were taught to play every game as
if it was our last, giving total effort to the very last out.”
“If we didn’t, the win was not enough for our coach who
wanted perfection,” said Sirene Johnson. “He knew we
would never be perfect (because we are human), but if we
strived for perfection we could be excellent at this game we
love.” Playing for the love of the game has driven Enough
Said to 27 World Series, National, Winter National and
State titles. It also led them to their partnership with Easton
Sports.
It was 2003 in Panama City, Florida where a friend introduced Coach Houston and team mom/manager (Sirene
Johnson) to Tom “Hex” Heschel, then an Easton representative. “He was very impressed with our accolades, but
more so of our commitment to being a disciplined team
with great character,” said Coach Houston. Thus, a partnership was born between Easton Sports and Enough Said
Softball Club, Inc., at the start of the 2004 season. “It was

“We enjoy our Easton products to the fullest, and we’re honored to be an
Elite Easton team in the National Program.” The team is excited about
the upcoming season and looking forward to the release of the 2009
USSSA bat line.

in the game,” said Mary Hoff. “In turn, it brings on a special feeling not

thought it was time for the team to start giving back.
A New Purpose:
To whom are they giving back and why was the question the team
asked about donating their time and efforts. The response was simple.
“It’s time to give back to the youth in our respective communities, giving
them an avenue for support and care through mentoring and sports,”
suggested Coach Houston. And so, Enough Said Softball Club, Inc. soon
became a 501(c)(3) non-profit
organization, partnering with

“He doesn’t play around when it comes to playing ball. He
will tell you like it is even when you don’t want to hear it,” adds
Sissy Hudson. “Coach simply wants us to do our job at our
position with preparation and focus.” Although he has a tough
exterior, he has the biggest heart. He also loves and protects
all of his players. He is the perfect motivator and coach who
will make a player into a champion if you follow his lead. Since
the inception of Enough Said, Coach Houston has led his team
to 27 World Series, national, winter national and state titles.
“He never settles for less,” said Mary Hoff.
“Coach Houston also enjoys playing softball and has been a
part of many championship teams; he plays as hard as he
coaches,” notes Sirene Johnson. “Coach Houston is respected
and also a true player’s coach, taking the time to know what
motivates each of his players and making them better.”
“The only thing that makes him better than a coach is Ian
as a person,” said Christan Dowling.
“God, family and friends comes before all. Coach always
cares for the well-being of each of his players which always
comes before the game.” Tracy Bougere said, “If there was an

the honor.”
In his spare time, Coach Houston enjoys bolstering life,
moral and athletic skills into children. He also enjoys practicing
softball and watching sports live and on television. The person
he admires the most is his dad. “My dad is a perfect example
of what a man should be as a husband, father and most
importantly, a Christian. His personal goal is to have peace
and happiness.”
Assistant Coach Matthew Parker returns to Enough Said for
his fifth season in 2009. He originally came to the team as an

strives to keep learning the intricacies of the game. He enjoys playing
softball and basketball. The person he admires the most is his mother,
for making him the man he is today. His goal for the team is to provide
all the mental and physical support that the team needs to win. His personal goals are to get stronger physically, mentally and financially. He
also wants to continue to win championships as a coach and win as a
player.
Meet the Team:
This team is made up of a fine group of ladies with as much character as athleticism. They have seasoned veterans, players who are shining in their prime, and youth (recently removed college players).
First, meet the seasoned veterans: Mary Hoff, Sirene Johnson, Dee
Williams, Sissy Hudson and Tonja Russell. With four of the five veterans
being with Coach Houston since the inception of Enough Said, there is
no misunderstanding of what’s necessary and expected to succeed. As
a testament to their dynasty, they have delivered without fail.
Mary Hoff is from Melbourne, Florida and
returns to Enough Said/Easton for her seventh season. She was the team’s dominating pitcher for five years until moving to a
new position in 2008. She led the team to
countless victories with her crafty pitching
and provided stellar defense regardless of
who she faced. Last season she moved to
Enough Said about Mary...She’s regarded as
the most fearless pitcher around...Mary at times
is silent but explodes with excitement in the
most needed times...She shows “no fear” on the
mound...No matter what role she is called to
play, she does it with all her heart...She’s a
great mentor and friend to new young players...Mary is a true softball legend;
she is the toughest player I know and she speaks highly of her
teammates...She’s simply the best and a diehard softball player.. Mary’s

admires the most are Sirene Johnson and Christan Dowling. “Sirene is
one of a kind and someone I can always count on,” notes Mary.
“Christan is the teammate that I want in my corner when it comes down
to battle. They are both great friends.” Mary’s team goals are to ensure
the team is 100% focused across the board and to continue the winning
tradition. Her individual goal is to assist her friends and loved ones to

always wants the best out of you and
she won’t stand for anything
less...She’s a ball player who’s always
ready to go to war...She is one of the
most remarkable hitters and infielders that I have seen play this
game...Stacie works so hard, yet it
appears effortless...If I wanted to be like anyone on the field, I would
want to be Stacie Symonds...She’s an all around awesome player and
has a swagger of her own! She’s a true competitor to the bone and
refuses to lose... Stacie’s Favorite Quote: “God grant me the SERENITY to accept the things I cannot change….COURAGE to change the

on the field. She is considered one of the best shortstops in the
nation. “She’s cool on and off the field,” said Tracy Bougere.
During the last two seasons she has been the team’s leadoff
batter that does a great job of setting the tone for the offense.
Stacie’s 2008 season highlights includes being selected MVP in

Columbus, Ga. at the BL. USSSA N.I.T., with an average of
.900. She also batted over .700 on four other occasions and
she was selected to the USSSA “A” World Series
Championship All-Tournament team. Nothing compares to her
“no quit” attitude. She has the heart of a champion and one of
the most talented players to ever play the game. Stacie was
named to the USSSA Team of the Decade - Post 1990s and
to the USSSA All-Time Team by Steve Dimitry. She enjoys
working out and staying fit. Her ultimate hobby is practicing
and teaching her children their sport of choice and then
watching them showcase their skills at game time. The person she admires the most is her mother. “Through her struggles as a
single mother of three children she has taught me to appreciate life.
She has led by example as to what it takes to survive and to be a survivor. She has bestowed the quality of being a hard worker and the
quality of being a great mother. Lastly, she has engraved in my soul to
ALWAYS TRUST IN GOD AND EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON.” Her team goals for 2009 are to reunite with her Enough Said sisters in January, laughing, hugging, reminiscing, and beginning the season with a bang. “I would love for this team to continue our dynasty of
domination with class and remain humble as we have for so many
years.” Her personal goals are to continue to raise her children to
become productive, law abiding, God fearing individuals with the same
morals as her mother has blessed her with. “I’m actively seeking a position with the Federal Government in Law Enforcement. Working at the
state level has been a blessing, but I ultimately want to become a
United States Marshal.” Stacie’s comment about the team: “I live and
breathe Enough Said and would go to battle with and for each and
every one of you! We all cross paths for a reason and I’m thankful that
we have crossed paths for a common purpose. Let’s keep this show on
the road and remain committed to one another, I assure you that I’m
committed to each and every one of you.

Tracy Bougere hails from Conroe, Texas
and is returning for her second season.
She plays left field and is a “Go Getta,” who
can track down anything hit near her. Big
talent truly comes in small packages, as
Enough Said about Tracy...She’s a ball of
intensity that can make anyone smile and she’s
very, very dedicated to everything she touches...She’s a little person with a BIG heart, awesome!...She’s always determined to make the
winning plays look like it’s a “piece of
cake”...She may be small but she is a force to be
reckoned with...She will leave it all out on the
field day in and day out injured or healthy...She demands respect in the outfield and her performances show why it is deserved...Ms. MVP what more can

Tracy’s game is larger than life. She is a true leader on the team offensively and defensively. During her remarkable 2008 season, her highlights included six tournaments with a .700 or higher batting average.
She was also selected to the All-Tournament team at the BL. USSSA
N.I.T., with an average of .900 in Columbus, Georgia and the USSSA
“A” World Series Championship. Tracy continued her dominance by
receiving the Golden Glove Award at the SBSA and the BSC World
Series Championships. Tracy was also chosen as the MVP for the
team’s first USSSA “A” N.I.T. event and at the BL. USSSA World Series
Tournament. Tracy plays the game the way it should be played with
style and grace. She’s the team’s silent weapon that explodes when she
crosses the white lines. “Her skills are unlimited as she hits for power
and average,” said Coach Houston. “The defensive talents that she
shows are undeniable as she continuously makes great plays each and
every game.” The person she admires the most is Mrs. Bradley. Mrs.
Bradley was her teacher at Washington high school. “She displayed
great leadership and was always willing to advocate for my community.”
When Tracy is not playing softball, she enjoys being a personal trainer and playing/teaching basketball. Her 2009 team
goal is to win six World Series championships. Her individual
goals are to get inducted into the hall of fame, break hitting
records, and be named MVP in six world tournaments.

Christan Dowling is from
Kalamazoo, Michigan and plays
first and second base. “She’s

on her sleeve and motivates players
with her winning attitude...Christan is a true friend that makes
you accountable for your performance by her desire to be the best
team ever...Her knowledge of the game and her confident ability is

considered the Babe Ruth of women’s slow-pitch softball,”
said Danielle Brown. Softball is a way of life for Christan;
she’s powerful, dedicated and exciting. If she’s not at her 9 to
5, she’s working on her game in some form or fashion. She
is returning to the team for her third season after hitting over
.700 for seven tournaments. She also led the team in hitting
for the 2008 season. “Christan refused to give opponents a
chance, right when they thought they were only a few runs
behind, she would hit a bomb,” said Sirene Johnson. “She’s
the destroyer of the opponent’s dreams,” said Dee Williams.
Christan had an exceptional season that others only wish
they could accomplish. Her accolades include being selected
to the All-Tournament team five times: BSC N.I.T., USSSA
“A” N.I.T., BSC, BL. USSSA and the USSSA “A” World Series
Championships. Christan was also named MVP for the
BASA N.I.T. and the SBSA World Series Championship
where she contributed superb defense and delivered awesome offensive performances hitting .789 and .813 consecutively. “The epitome of a power hitter, she plays every game
with a purpose; to dominate,” said Ruby Nugent. The people
she admires the most are her parents. Her favorite pastime is
working out, playing softball and fishing. Her team goal is to
go undefeated. Her individual goal is to be as dominant a
player as she can be. Christan’s comments about the team: “I
love playing on this team. I want to share in these bountiful
times the glory of being a world champion.”
Jackie Chin is from Montego Bay Jamaica. She is returning to the team for her second season playing the outfield.
She’s a glow of sunshine, with a
smile that’s contagious. She’s
also an awesome ball player
Enough Said about Jackie...She’s
full of enthusiasm...She plays the
field with calm and reserve...She
doesn’t make the spectacular play;
she just simply gets the job
done...She’s beautiful, funny, witty
and always friendly...She is probably the most genuine person you will
ever meet...Pure and hustle are two
words that describe Jackie...One of
the best teammates anyone could
ask for...She is always in your corner and has a ‘never say die’ attitude.” Jackie’s Favorite Quote: “It

who always gives 110 percent. Jackie brings a “never back down attitude”
to Enough Said that adds toughness to the team. She is a hustling ball
player with great defensive skills. On offense, Jackie brings a reliable gap
to gap power presence in the lineup with the ability to leave the yard on
occasion. She is seen as a great teammate to go to battle with, and great
example of how to perform. Jackie began the 2008 season with a bang,
contributing an impressive defensive performance and hitting a season
high .800 in her first tournament with the team. She would come up big in
many clutch situations throughout the season even through injuries and
surgery. “Jackie has been blessed by many prayers to come through her
setbacks and will have no mercy for opponents in 2009,” said Coach
Houston. The person she admires the most is her mother because she is
the hardest working and most caring person she knows. Jackie enjoys
spending time with family and friends. Her team goal is “To stay focused
in the game for me and for my team and produce when needed.” Her individual goals are to use her skills and knowledge to be her best while
always developing new ones and to have a healthy family. Jackie’s comments about the team: “I love the ability and knowledge on this team.”
Finally, meet the youth (recently removed college players): Ruby
Nugent, Danielle Brown, Crissy Hixon, Tiffany Cox and Ashley Walker.
These players have had to make the biggest transition from fast-pitch to
slow-pitch, which is evidence of the awesome talent and ability of the
coaches. They have created synergy amongst all players and the hard
work has resulted in continued success.
Ruby Nugent is from Lake Wales, Florida and is returning for her third
season playing outfield. One never has to second-guess her desire for the
game. She’s exciting, confident, determined and gives every fiber in her at
all times. There’s no limit to her ability. During
the 2008 season, her many highlights include
recording a batting average of over .700 at
six different tournaments. For her brilliant

beauty of the game in her every move...Ruby is
hard working and dominating, she a teammate
we can’t do without...Ruby - Simply the best ball
player I have ever seen...Makes the most amazing
catches, and always does it with a smile on her
face...She has a beautiful smile and a beautiful
attitude...No matter how many times coach yells
at her, she simply smiles and never says a
word...She is truly a “shutdown” outfielder, gobbling up anything in her zip code...Ruby is the most hype player EVER! She will
run into fences to catch ANY ball...Very hard out, loves the game, and has a
wicked arm...The most well rounded player that I know. She has it all, speed,
power, and strength...Indestructible!...Ruby is a blast of instant energy...Ruby’s

efforts, she was selected three times to the All-Tournament team at the
USSSA “A” N.I.T., the SBSA and BL. USSSA World Series
Championships. Ruby continued her dominance by being chosen as the
MVP in New Orleans during a USSSA tournament where the team lost
the first game and had to come from the loser’s bracket to claim the
championship. Additionally, she was selected as MVP for the BASA N.I.T.
in Dalton, Georgia and making the most spectacular defensive plays
imaginable. Ruby is a coach’s dream. She is probably the most raw and
gifted athlete the game has EVER seen; she can hit for power, and average and takes extra bases effortlessly while commonly going horizontal
on the defensive side. The person she admires the most is her sister. “My
older sister has been my role model ever since I can remember and has
achieved so much in life; I have learned from her to never settle for less.”
Ruby’s favorite pastimes include playing the guitar, working out, and
sports. Her team goals are to play as many games as possible with
everyone on their A game, (what an amazing thing to be a part of), win
every game leaving no prisoners and remain the best women’s team in
the country. Her personal goal is to get a Doctorate Degree of Physical
Therapy, marry a successful bachelor and start a family. Ruby’s comment
about the team: “I am willing to do whatever it takes to assist each and
every person on this team to be successful.”

Danielle Brown is from Jacksonville,
Florida and is returning to the team for her
third season. Based on the team’s needs,
Danielle played first and third base. She’s an

exudes her as she steps in the batter’s box...She
has the power and ability to make BIG things
happen...Danielle has so much talent that has not
been unleashed, that when she really finds that
talent, world watch out...She has the sweetest
swing, and when she lifts that ball, she lifts our
team...She is simply beautiful...Her smile is
intoxicating and just makes you want to be her
friend...Danny is a wonderful teammate and
friend...Danielle is young with a lot of talent and a lot of attitude! She is a
player that softball comes natural to when she lets it do “what it do”...Her power
will forever set her aside from average players...If slow-pitch softball has a diva,
it’s Danielle..She bears a presence in the box and on the field like no other..She’s
fun-loving and “foxy” off the field.

USSSA World Series Championship. “Danielle is such an exciting player
who possesses all the tools necessary to be considered the best,” said
Sirene Johnson. “Danielle continues to be a threat on offense with her
power as she is able to hit some of the hardest balls imaginable or towering homeruns that are talked about long after the event is over.” On
defense, she doesn’t give opponents a chance because her footwork is
perfect and her arm strength is amazing. Although this is only her third
season as a slow-pitch softball player, her name will be well known for
many years to come. The person she admires the most is her dad.
Danielle’s favorite pastime is reading. Her team goal is to win all the world
tournaments. Her individual goal is to play flawless defense, making as
few errors as possible. Danielle’s comments about the team: “This team is
like a family to me. I love this game with all my heart.”
Crissy Hixon is from Concord, Georgia
and is returning for her second season playing left center. If you think you have the hit,
think twice. She can NEVER be underestimated. She can run down a ball like no other
Enough Said about Crissy...She’s a stallion,
with a great sense of humor...Crissy is always
making people laugh and she has so much talent...She’s in a class all her own...This girl plays
left centerfield like a man...She makes catches
that put most men in awe...She’s quiet and
reserved, but funny as hell...She says things, and
laughs, and you just can’t help but laugh with
her, not knowing she is probably laughing at
you...Crissy has been playing ball seemingly her
whole life...She has dangerous speed and an even more lethal bat...If the game is
on the line, you feel confident the game is won with her...There’s never a dull
moment with Crissy...She’s very funny and silly and one of the best outfielders I
have seen in a long time...She leaves everything on the field every game...Crissy
is the Ken Griffey Jr. of the softball world...I’ve never seen anyone track down a

favorite pastime includes bowling and shooting pool. The person she admires the most is Bernie Mac because he had a
great sense of humor, but also a serious side that one could
relate to. Her team goal is to encourage this current group of
women to remain together as a team and continue growing
as a family for years to come. Her individual goal is to remain
a key piece of the puzzle on the team. Without her piece, the
team would be incomplete. Crissy’s comments about the
team: “This team is something we will cherish for the rest of
our lives and I love it.”
Tiffany Cox is from Nashville,
Tennessee and returning to the
team for her second season as
an outfielder. Although she’s the
youngest of the group, she has
the drive and determination
required by the team. She knows
her role and anxiously awaits her
turn to showcase her skills. On
Enough Said about Tiffany...She
has raw talent and the potential to
be a game changing player with her
speed and her bat...With cat-like
swiftness she is guaranteed to score when she’s on base...She has a
beautiful attitude and a beautiful smile...The way she presents
herself is so lively... Makes you just want to hang out with
her...Tiffany is a truly talented player...Tiffany’s Favorite Quote:

three occasions, Tiffany came off the bench and recorded a
1.000 batting average, giving her team a motivating boost.
The most notable boost came at the BASA World
Championship in Cincinnati, Ohio with a three hit performance, which included the game winning RBI. Not only does
she have youth on her side, but also she has speed to burn.
Her speed is evident not only in the outfield, but also while
running the base paths. “She has an uncanny blend of arm
strength and hitting power for being a smaller player and is
expected to see an increased amount of playing time for
2009,” said Coach Houston. The person she admires the
most is her mother. Tiffany enjoys playing softball and traveling. Her team goal is to win as many world championships as
physically possible. Becoming a starter is what she has set
as an individual goal for herself. Tiffany’s comment about the
team: “I love this team and am willing to do any and everything it takes to keep this team together. It’s teams like this
that make me still want to play
softball because of the drive and
determination that I see when
you ladies step out on the field.”
Ashley Walker is from
Tallahassee, Florida and returns
to the team for her second season. She started the season
playing outfield, but settled in at
second base, exhibiting her

may be the smallest on the team
but don’t get it twisted, she packs
power, ability and knowledge...When on the dirt her abilities
shine...Young and fiery, Ashley plays with all her heart, and will
leave everything on the field...Her smile is contagious and certainly brightens my day...Small package packed with talent...She’s a
triple threat armed with speed, awesome defense and an astounding knowledge for the game...Ashley’s Favorite Quote: “If God be

season, Ashley displayed great defensive prowess and speed on the base paths.
“On the dirt, Ashley has some of the softest hands on the team and backs down
from very few missiles hit her way,” said Coach Houston. A few highlights from the
season include her diversity displayed playing outfield and infield in the BASA
N.I.T. in Dalton, Georgia and her outstanding all around performance in the BASA
World Series Championship. During that same event, she recorded a season high
.714 batting average. “We are looking for continued progress with Ashley’s hitting
as she will be 100% coming back from ankle injuries giving her the confidence to
use her powerful legs to the fullest in 2009,” said Coach Parker. The person she
admires the most is her sister. Ashley enjoys reading, shopping, listening to music,
spending time with family and friends and writing in her journal. Her team goal is to
go undefeated the whole entire 2009 season and play whatever role is needed. Her
individual goal is to make no errors on defense and make no outs on offense.
Ashley’s comments about the team: “I’ve never been on a team that is so well
rounded and also possesses so much talent. We have fun together.”
