Traveling can be exhilarating and inspiring, but nothing feels better than coming home. Now, bring
home the excitement of travel to far away places with Commonwealth by Bernhardt — a grandly
scaled collection of traditional forms inspired by the exploration of British Colonial travelers. With
a hint of the African safari, the collection combines English traditional forms with exotic materials
to create a bold and enduring look. Mindi wood veneers are presented in a brown Mink finish with
khaki undertones. A multi-step finishing process accentuates the grain pattern and gives a natural
feel to the veneers while burnished edges and French waxing add detail and definition. Clean, yet
substantial turned posts and columns lend an architectural feel to the collection. Accents of
crocodile patterned leather, nailhead trim and canvas-like fabric add texture and visual interest.
Knobs, bail pulls and drop pulls in a rich, patinated iron finish provide the final touch to a

CAMPAIGN STYLE | Rooted in the practical needs of life on the road, campaign
furniture was designed to be taken on an expedition, a military excursion or a traveling
adventure. As such, the pieces were portable, usually easily folded or taken apart for easy
packing. Several pieces denote the campaign style including a tray table, desk, bunching
cocktail bench and end table.

Wood and Veneer
At Bernhardt, we pride ourselves on the contribution we make to the
optimization of forest resources. We use engineered wood in combination
with fine hardwood veneers. These resources are natural, renewable
and recyclable.
The composite wood products used in this furniture meet the Phase 1
standards of the Airborne Toxic Control Measure (ATCM) enacted by
the California Air Resource Board (CARB).
Packaging
All packaging is 100% recyclable.
HARDWARE | With the look and
feel of a well-worn, perhaps, well-traveled
piece, hardware knobs, bail pulls and
drop pulls are presented in a rich,
patinated iron finish.

Catalog Paper and Ink
This catalog is printed on Forest Stewardship Council
(FSC) certified paper. The inks used to print this catalog
are vegetable and soy based inks.
