ANC THEATRE Fall Production The ANC Theatre Department will present four spooktacular performances of Kelly’s Fog on the Mountain, October 27th -29th,2016. This will be a zany Halloween production with a musical interlude. Michael Fisher, theatre instructor at ANC will be directing . These shows will be fun for kids and adults alike. In this popular and fun class, you’ll learn your camera’s basic controls, and how to use them to take the best pictures possible. Here at ANC, we have an expert photographer in Chris Cloninger. His passion is photography, and he’ll help you learn to use your camera to it’s fullest! Master Gardener Program Those who would like to take their love of gardening to a new level should consider signing up for the training sessions to become a Master Gardener in Mississippi County. Do you want a garden, but don’t have the time or space to keep it maintained? This free class is for those who are curious about having a garden without all the hassle. Learn about starting a raised bed, container gardening, and vegetable gardens. Mississippi County Master Gardener, Tamika Jenkins will share tips and her love of gardening with you. Furniture Repurposing Learn the tips and tricks of the trade working with chalk paint . If you like the “distressed” look and have always wanted to know how to make it happen, this will be a great class for you! Sign up with your friends! All you need are paint brushes, rags, and sandpaper. Photo Editing This is a great follow up course using what you’ve already learned from Photography. If you’ve already taken Basic Photography and would like to use those skills to edit your pictures, this is a great class for you. If you’re already skilled as a photographer and would like to use new techniques you will enjoy this class as well. Thurs/Tues– Oct. 27 & Nov. 1 Blytheville ANC Computer Lab (Room B-206) 6-8 PM Fee: $25 SPECIAL INTERESTS: Knitting How to Talk to Your Doctor In today's high speed world, knitting is surprisingly enjoying a revival of sorts as a calming yet productive hobby. The entire purpose of this elementary knitting class is to teach the basics of casting on, knitting a row, and then casting off. Learn this and you can start knitting any basic article. A supply list will be available upon registration. The University of Arkansas System, Division of Agriculture, Research and Extension in partnership with the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences created a program for ensuring consumers get the most benefit from their appointments with medical providers. Would you like to learn a new creative skill? Debra Huffman will take the mystery out of it all! This sewing class will teach you everything you need to know about machine embroidery. This class will feature a farm to table atmosphere at The Grange at Wilson. The produce from Wilson Gardens will be featured and prepared as only Abby can! This class fills up very quickly with limited seating. Dance Classes for Kids Beginning Group Piano for Children Bailey Strieder taught dance previously for ANC and is excited to be back in town to offer classes teaching the fundamentals of tap, jazz and ballet. This is a year long dance program with a recital in the spring. Dr. Keith Hearnsberger leads a 30 minute weekly group piano class for beginning students. This course is designed for students who have a desire to play the piano with NO previous experience. It is also designed for children who want to return to piano from previous experiences that didn’t feel accomplished. Come join Dr. Keith for a fun 30 minutes of continuing to learn and love the possibilities of piano. Alfred’s Piano Method Book One will be used. This class is for teachers, parents , and grandparents who want to support their primary , elementary and young learners. Presenter: Veda Struble, Reading Interventionist with Blytheville Public Schools. Ms. Struble has a Lifetime Educator’s License in areas of District Administration, Building Administration, Early Childhood Education, Middle School Childhood Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, Math and is a Reading Specialist for Pre-K—12. In 2015-2016, Ms. Struble enrolled in Multisensory Structured Language Courses from the June Shelton School and Evaluation Center in Dallas, Texas. The approaches used are endorsed by the International Dyslexia Association and accredited by the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council. There are four opportunities to attend and you can attend just one or all four!
