In collaboration with the USDA and several other partners, University of
Nevada Cooperative Extension supports Nevada's livestock and
agricultural producers in a number of ways. Education and research efforts
focus on areas such as beef management, alternative low-water-use
crops, invasive weed management, rangeland management and health,
wildfire fuels management and post-fire rehabilitation, and maximizing
irrigation efficiency. Through programs such as Herds and Harvest and
Nevada Risk Management Education, Cooperative Extension helps
farmers and ranchers across the state develop entrepreneurship,
implement sustainable marketing strategies and improve profitability.
