Dominick’s Negotiations Update

For UFCW Local 881 and 1546 Members
Contract negotiations between Locals 881 and 1546 and Dominick’s/Safeway on your behalf are
still underway. Bargaining has been particularly challenging due to the pension funding issues
that have arisen due to our nation’s economic downturn and the negative impact on the stock
market.
Much progress has been made on a variety of provisions of your contract. However, we are still
currently addressing the pension funding issue, wages, and health benefits.
Your Union is committed to negotiating a fair and equitable contract on your behalf and we will
continue to fight to protect your wages, benefits, and working conditions. We will keep you
informed of any major updates as we proceed through the negotiations process. Please be sure
that your Local Union has your correct address information to ensure that you do not miss out on
important information or ratification materials.
