is delighted to announce the following cast:

This is a deliciously wicked comedy that proves that the female of the species is not only
deadlier, but funnier than the male. From the author of the West End-hit, Honour.

In the words of Kenneth Williams: ‘Good Evening!’
Thank you for coming along tonight for Another Helping of
Hancock’s Hour and a Half – back by popular demand!
Given the fantastic feedback from our last performance of three
Hancock scripts in late 2013, we once again give you three more
classic episodes. Choosing them is incredibly difficult, so along
with my fellow producer we discussed which ones would offer
the best roles for all our actors. I would like to thank my Dad in
helping me type up the scripts. Most of them aren’t available in
any form, so it’s a case of laborious transcribing, often listening
again and again to catch exactly the right word.

Hancock’s Half Hour is still spoken about in the press, and recently new episodes aired on BBC
Radio 4 with Kevin McNally playing Tony Hancock. Ray Galton and Alan Simpson have written
some exceptional comedy in their lifetimes. They met in 1948 whilst recuperating from tuberculosis
at the Milford Sanatorium, near Godalming in Surrey. They wrote not only Hancock’s Half Hour,
Comedy Playhouse and Steptoe and Son, they also worked on projects with Frankie Howerd.
Galton and Simpson were both awarded OBEs in the 2000 Honours list for their contribution to
British television.
The End of the Pier Show
We are pleased to announce that the final show of our current season will be The End of
the Pier Show, a fabulous summer variety entertainment devised by the theatre. The dates
for this are 25 July to 1 August 2015. Anyone interested in taking part, please contact Mark
Campbell on 07977019342.
I am so happy with my amazing cast. They have all worked so hard to get the voices and the
mannerisms of the people they are playing. We have had a lot of fun in rehearsals, and I am so
proud of them all.
AGM and New Season Announcement
The EAT AGM will be at 8.15pm on Tuesday 3rd of March. The new season launch date will
be announced at the AGM. More details will be available on the website soon.
Don’t forget your free drink, cheese and nibbles available at the bar. I do also apologise for the lack
of heating in the theatre at present; we are still in talks with the Council who managed to cut us off
back in the summer and have not yet got round to restoring the gas supply!

tonight’s performance.

“I have longer to please
the dead than please the
living here:
in the kingdom down
below I’ll lie forever”
Filled with passionate speeches and sensitive probing of moral and philosophical issues, this powerful
drama reveals the grim fate that befalls the children of Oedipus. When Antigone, the daughter of
Oedipus, chooses to obey the law of the gods rather than an unconscionable command from Creon,
ruler of Thebes, she is condemned to death. How the gods take their revenge on Creon provides the
gripping denouement to this compelling tragedy.
Cast: Jenny McKiernan (Antigone), Aysev Ismail (Ismene), Shirley Andrews, Tony Donnelly, Maureen
Hardwen, John Hyde, Horry Stapleton (Chorus), Richard Self (Creon), Daniel O’Brien (Soldier), Rob
Coble (Haemon), Eleanor McEnery (Teiresias), Paul Friett (Messenger) and Viv Stapleton (Eurydice)
