Message from President and Chairman
Dear Prospective Students,
“CVR has achieved greatest heights which no other College has achieved in a similar time frame”
– CVR ranked as the #1 college among more than 600 colleges in Telangana and AP that were established after the year 2000
I am really excited to inform you that CVR continues to attract the
best students and faculty, the key pillars of any premier educational
institution. As the number of engineering colleges in Telangana
and AP went past 700 during 2013-14 we looked at what we have
accomplished - CVR was awarded the highest rating of “AAA+”
by Careers360 among all the private colleges in Telangana and
AP, similar to decades old institutions. While we are very pleased
and thrilled with the developments at CVR over the past thirteen
years, we are not resting on our laurels but continuing to work
hard in making CVR one of the premier technical institutions in the
State. It gives me immense pleasure in informing you that CVR was
ranked as the 8th best co-educational college among all colleges in
Telangana during EAMCET-2013 counseling. It is the expectation
of the academic community that CVR is on the successful path to
be in the TOP-5 amongst all colleges in Telangana in the next year
or two.
I am also very pleased to inform you that the 10 batch of CVR
has successfully completed and the placement activity continues
to exceed any of our expectations. CVR has the highest pass
percentage among 300+ co-educational colleges affiliated to
JNTUH for three semester examinations in a row. The students
of the college garnered highest placements statewide in
numerous companies of repute like ADP, Amazon, Syntel, L&T,
Oracle, Robert Bosch, Infosys, Commscope, Polycom, TCS, Tally
Solutions, etc., with more than 10 students getting offers of > Rs.
6 Lakhs and two students above Rs. 10 Lakhs. CVR also bagged the
National Employability Award for the third consecutive year. It is
the only college in the states of Telangana and AP that has bagged
this annual award for three years in a row.
th
AN URGE TO EXCEL
CVR has the unique distinction of having two former Deans of
Engineering from OU and a Rector and a Director from JNTU.
CVR is the only college in the states of Telangana and AP (among
colleges less than 15 years old) to have obtained NBA accreditation
for the second time.
It gives me immense pleasure in informing you that three Professors
Dr. B. Srinivas Reddy, Dr. S. Venkateshwarlu and Dr. T. Muralidhar
Rao have joined the college. It is also very satisfying to see three
associate professors being promoted to the Professor cadre. I am
very happy to inform you that most of the Senior Faculty, including
our Director, Deans and Principal, continue to be associated with
the College. The College also has a record number of Associate
Professors. We are very excited to have dedicated academicians
who share our vision and passion to be part of our institution.
We invite you and your parents to visit the campus of CVR College
of Engineering and look at its infrastructure, learn about its faculty,
etc., before you decide which college to pursue your engineering
degree course. I am sure you will be excited to join CVR College

QUEST FOR QUALITY LEARNING
Prof Magdy Bayoumi Centre for VLSI Design
In December 2003, the College entered into a
MoU with Cadence Design Systems, to receive
full-fledged Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI)
EDA tools through its university software
program. Under the MoU, Cadence personnel
have trained CVR College faculty. A Centre for
Industry tie-up with IBM, Microsoft,
Oracle, EMC, Cypress Semiconductor
CVR has entered into the university programs of IBM for
their Rational Rose software, Oracle for their industry
leading database software, Microsoft for their software
and Cypress for their embedded systems. The commercial
value of all this software runs into millions of dollars.
Faculty Publications and Faculty Development
Programs / IUCEE
The faculty at CVR has published over 45 papers in various
National and International Journals and Conferences during
the last year. As part of the faculty development program,
CVR has become a constituent member of the Faculty
Leadership Initiative of the Indo-US Collaboration for
Engineering Education (IUCEE). More than 50 of our faculty
attended weeklong training programs.
CIENCIA 2014
VLSI Design has been established in the College, with Late
Prof RVB Chary, a Senior Professor in ECE, as its first Director.
The Center is named after Prof Magdy Bayoumi, IEEE Fellow,
who had pioneered VLSI Design in the 70s and 80s, in
honour of his visit to the College on 19th February 2006.
Our College was the third institution in AP after NIT
(Warangal) and IIIT (Hyderabad) to have obtained Cadence
VLSI EDA tools. The Centre has state-of-the-art VLSI EDA
tools comprising Cadence simulation, verification, layout and
place-and-route tools, as well as ‘Encounter RTL Compiler’,
a global synthesis technology-based solution that delivers
the highest quality of silicon-speed, area, and power as
measured with wires. CVR College also trains faculty of other
engineering colleges. The Center also has Altera, Synplify
Pro, Multisim and Xilinx tools.
In-House Journal
In a unique initiative, the College has started publishing an
in-house Journal – CVR Journal of Science & Technology.
Already five volumes have been published and an ISSN number
has been allotted to it. Faculty of the college who are pursuing
research have contributed in addition to some papers written
by external researchers as well. It is a peer-reviewed Journal.
R&D and Consultancy Projects with DRDO and BDL
Four projects have been sanctioned by DRDL/DRDO and a
project is in its preliminary works with BDL. This achievement
is very unique since such projects are normally awarded to
IITs and NITs. CVR is probably one of very few self-financing
institutions across the country to be sanctioned such projects.
These projects are being funded to the tune of Rs. 50+ Lakhs.
CIENCIA-2k14, a National Level Technical Festival was
organized on 14th and 15th March 2014 with about 3000
students participating. More than 750 papers were received
from students of various engineering colleges and 90 among
Shri Sharat Kumar - Sr VP, Tech Mahindra
them were selected for presentation. Prizes were awarded for
top presentations, including a few from our College. Senior
executives from various reputed companies also addressed
the students on topics of contemporary interest.

“I was a Computer Science student. All my core
subjects were handled effectively in the right way.
This will be useful to me throughout my career in
software field.”
- S Nagarjuna (2004-08, CSE)
“It’s very evident that spoon-feeding doesn’t work in
a competitive corporate world. CVR acquainted us
to the corporate style. We were asked to do projects
on our own. Pressure started to mount up during
those days. But now when I recall those days, I end
up realizing that working under pressure is a normal
thing in this modern era; especially due to the
springing up competition. That made me technically
sound and competent. When I look back, I know
that CVR made me a man, a person who can face
the world.”
- Karthik Navuluri (2006-10, CSE)
“The intensive teaching and strictness in CVR,
imparted some discipline into us. Moreover,
everyone was so engrossed in improving themselves;
that they tend to forget the rest of the stuff. CVR gets
people from different backgrounds, but what binds
them all is their zeal to excel in life.”

“My focus was just more than good marks. CVR
offered its students a plethora of opportunities to
make use of and excel as an all-rounder. I was

“CVR honed my skills besides giving roots to
my reading approaches. The dedicated faculty
brought the best out of me by clearing classroom

during the lab sessions. The competition was
also quite intense which made the students
to be enthusiastic and managed to keep the

“On the verge of entering the hallowed portals of
University of California, I look back at my life at
CVR. The 4 years journey in CVR really helped
me in settling my nerves and helped me gain
