October 2014 delivery report - Italy
YACHTING PAGES DELIVERS
DELIVERY REPORT; OCTOBER 2014 ITALY – SANREMO TO LIVORNO
All this month’s deliveries were made in tandem with the launch the Superyacht Owners’ Guide 2014-15 (SYOG),
and the Yachting Pages Refit Guide 2014-15. As always, copies of the 2014/15 Yachting Pages Directories, both the
Mediterranean edition and the global box set, were also distributed when necessary – although every yacht visited
that I spoke to already had at least one copy on board.
The timing of this week’s distribution in Italy coincided perfectly with several key events in the yachting world. Firstly,
distribution started exactly one week after the end of the Monaco Yacht Show. This meant that there were larger than
average numbers of superyachts in various stages of transit along the Italian Riviera.
Secondly, we arrived in Genoa at the end of the 54th Salone Nautico Internazionale di Genova (1 – 6 October). So again, this
meant that there were higher than average numbers of superyachts in the nearby ports and marinas.
Thirdly, this is the optimum time of year between the end of the Mediterranean charter season, and either the migration
across the Atlantic to warmer climes (inevitably the Caribbean), and a new charter period, or the winter refit and repair work
– hence the influx of the yachts into the various ship yards.
These factors contributed to this distribution trip reaching the highest ever numbr of superyachts delivered to in Italy in one week.
The details;
• Capitaineries and businesses
We only delivered very small numbers of the YPD packs to the capitaineries & businesses this year, due to the large
numbers of superyachts present.
• The Yachts – hand to hand
These are the yachts where we managed to deliver your marketing materials directly into the hands of one of the crew,
the captain, or occasionally an owner. A testament to our relationship with ports and marinas is that while at Marina Porto
Antico, they offered to hand deliver our YPD packs, SYOG and YP Refit to the three superyachts due into the marina the
following day.
• The yachts – Direct onto the passerelles
These are the yachts that received one of our deliveries on their passerelles. On these occasions, when I did not speak directly with a
member of the crew, the YPD packs were always delivered alongside our Yachting Pages Media Group products as mentioned above.
