On 19 June, in Rouakeche, Medea province, the People’s National Army found and cleared a

On 23 May, in northwest of Jabal al Halal mountain, North Sinai governorate, security forces

Additionally, security forces found and cleared a cache containing 1,750kg gunpowder, 100 barrels
containing bomb-making materials, five (5) sacks of aluminum nitrate, explosive circuits, and various
other war materials inside the mountain gorge.

38 IEDs Found and Cleared in Sheikh Zuweid
On 27 May, in Rafah and Sheikh Zuweid, North Sinai governorate, security forces found and
cleared 38 unknown IEDs and killed 36 terrorists during clearing operations. “Ansar Bait al Maqdis
(ABM) affiliates have pledged allegiance to the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), changing their
name to ‘Sinai Province’.”


On 5 June, in Rafah city, North Sinai province, soldiers interdicted two (2) militants emplacing an
unknown IED, killing one (1) of them and wounding the other.

11 IEDs Found and Cleared in Giza
On 7 June, in Badrasheen, Giza governorate, security forces found and cleared a cache
containing about 11 unknown IEDs.

IED Killed One Soldier in Sheikh Zuweid
On 7 June, in Sheikh Zuweid, North Sinai governorate, an unknown IED targeting a checkpoint
detonated, killing one (1) soldier.

PBIED Detonated in Mit Ghamr
On 9 June, in Mit Ghamr city, Dakahlia governorate, a PBIED wearing a veil detonated at the
Qatar National Bank branch, with no other casualties.

VBIED Found and Cleared in Rafah
On 8 June, in Rafah, North Sinai governorate, security forces found and cleared a VBIED and
detained three (3) takfiri (impure Muslim) elements, one wanted for helping takfiris infiltrate into
the Sinai via tunnels.

Five IEDs Found and Cleared in North Sinai

On 11 June, south of Arish and Sheikh Zuweid, North Sinai governorate, police found and
cleared five (5) unknown roadside IEDs.

IED Found and Cleared in Arish
On 14 June, in Nafora district, Arish, North Sinai governorate, explosive experts found and
cleared an unknown roadside IED.

Six IEDs Found and Cleared Abu Teeg
On 16 June, in Abu Teeg, Assiut governorate, explosive experts found and cleared six (6)
unknown IEDs at a school. A four (4) member terrorist cell, led by a primary school teacher and
affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood, was detained in conjunction with the incident.

IED Found and Cleared in Al Arish
On 16 June, in Al Arish, North Sinai governorate, police found and cleared an unknown roadside
IED containing 100kg of TNT explosive substance.

Six IEDs Found and Cleared in Al Arish
On 18 June, in al Arish, North Sinai governorate, military personnel found and cleared six (6)
unknown roadside IEDs near a security checkpoint.


50km from Sirte.


and seriously wounded one (1) other.
NIGERIA

Militants Bomb NNPC Gas Pipeline - 3 Soldiers Dead

Al Shabaab claimed responsibility, stating they targeted the “apostate government” in the hotel
where lawmakers frequent.

Roadside Bomb Hits KDF Convoy Near Somali Border

On 3 June, A convoy transporting Kenyan defense forces (KDF) was targeted in a roadside bomb
explosion outside Liboi town near Somali border. A remote-controlled land-mine bomb believed to

Liboi and Dhobley.
