DAY OF PARDON HISTORY The Day of Pardon was originated in 2008, by a non‐profit group called Children on the Mend, Inc., which is a youth advocacy and mentoring program. The CEO and Founder, VerneHa Kinnard had a vision for an “Amnesty Program” that could assist delinquent youth with geNng back on track with their required provisions from the Dallas County Juvenile Department without penalty and receive community assistance to address their needs. HISTORY An outline of the proposal was draQed by COM, for the potenRal criteria for consideraRon and was later set for discuss and to finalize the collaboraRon with the Dallas County Juvenile Department. AQer the by‐in by Mr. Michael Griffiths, former DCJD Director of Juvenile Services, the proposal was taken to addiRonal key players who were Randy Wadley, DCJD former Assistant Director of Juvenile Services, Cheryl Lee‐Shannon, 305th District Judge, and Durrand Hill, Chief Juvenile District AHorney. 2008 Outcomes   187 youth aHended the event   20 services providers   6 warrants recalled   All 6 youth met DMC criteria Annie E.
